ROBBERY, 12/31/2007, 700 block of N. Glebe Rd. On 12/31/07 at approximately 12:50 pm, a suspect approached an employee at the counter of a store, said that he had a gun, and told her to open the register. She complied with his demand and the suspect grabbed cash from the drawer. The suspect fled the scene, and is described as a white male, approximately six feet tall, slender, wearing a dark colored hat (possibly knit), white sweater, blue jeans and carrying a black backpack.
ROBBERY/ARREST, 12/31/2007, 1000 block of S. Jefferson St. On December 31 around 9:03 pm, a subject approached a 17 year old female, struck her in the chest, and took her purse. The suspect fled on foot south on S. Jefferson St. The suspect was located nearby by a police officer. Marvin Gonzalez, 21, of Arlington, was arrested and charged with Robbery. He was held with no bond.
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, 12/31/2007, 2100 block of S. Lowell St. On December 31 at 11:35 pm, a group of approximately eight black male juveniles attempted to rob a man and his son. The man was punched in the face when he refused, as was one of his son’s friends. There are no further descriptions of the suspects at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 12/31/2007, 2200 & 2300 blocks of S. 8 St. On December 31 around 8:38 pm, suspects fired shots into the windows, tires and doors of four unoccupied vehicles in the area. A witness saw a 90’s model silver vehicle leaving the area after the incidents, with a white male driver, in his 20’s, with short blonde hair.
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY/ARREST, 12/30/2007, 5000 block Columbia Pike. On December 30 around 1:19 am, a 24 year old man was approached by a group of six men who asked him for money. The victim was punched repeatedly by several of the suspects, but police officers rapidly intervened. Ruddad Abdulgader, 18, of Alexandria, Bryan Cornejo, 20, of Falls Church, and Maurice Gaye, 20, of Washington DC, were arrested and charged with Attempted Robbery. They were held with no bond.
ARMED ROBBERY, 12/30/2007, 900 block S. Buchanan St. On December 30 around 9:10 pm, a 49 year old man was walking a friend to their car when two subjects approached him and displayed a handgun. After a brief scuffle, the handgun discharged. The victim’s wallet was taken and the suspects fled north on Buchanan St. The suspects are described as males, possibly Hispanic, wearing dark clothing and masks. The victim received a minor head injury from the scuffle.
INDECENT EXPOSURE/ARREST, 12/30/2007, 3900 block Lee Highway. On December 30 around 7:35 am, a subject entered a store and exposed himself to an employee. William Vaughn, 42, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with Indecent Exposure and Obstruction of Justice. He was held with no bond.
FELONY HIT & RUN, 12/30/2007, S. Walter Reed Dr/S. 13 St. On December 30 around 6:23 pm, a Buick Roadmaster was northbound in the right lane of S. Walter Reed Dr. A white Ford work truck, also northbound, crossed out of its lane and side swiped the Buick. The suspect vehicle fled the scene and was last scene in the area of S. Glebe Rd/S. 16 St. There were no injuries reported but the Buick sustained significant damage.
ATTEMPTED GRAND LARCENY AUTO, 12/29/2007, 4000 block Washington Blvd. Sometime between December 22 and December 29, a 1989 Toyota Corolla was broken into and the ignition was damaged. Entry was made through the driver's side front door.
LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 12/28/2007, 1300 block S. Army Navy Dr. Sometime between 8 pm on December 27 and 6:30 am on December 28, someone broke into three cars parked in the area. Leather laptop cases and two laptop computers were taken.
LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 12/28/2007, 1500 block Arlington Blvd. Sometime between 8 pm on December 27 and 7:30 am on December 28, someone broke into four cars parked in a parking lot. Gift cards, several satellite radios, a GPS unit, and assorted personal property were taken.
BURGLARY, 12/28/2007, 900 block N. Quantico St. Sometime between 8:45 am and 4:45 pm on December 28, someone entered a residence through a window. Jewelry, an IPOD, and a camera were taken. The victim saw two possible suspects standing in her driveway when she first arrived home, but can only describe them as white males, in their 20’s, approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall, 180 pounds. One of the suspects was carrying a blue back pack.
BURGLARY, 12/27/2007, 1200 block N. Garfield St. Sometime between noon on December 22 and 9 am on December 27, someone broke into a community room through a window and stole two large screen televisions, a dvd player, and a surround sound system.
ROBBERY, 12/27/2007, 600 block S. Harrison St. On December 27 at approximately 11:10 pm, a 21 year old man went to a location in Fairfax County to collect money owed to him by an acquaintance. He received some of the money then he returned to Arlington where he was assaulted by the suspect and several other subjects. The cash he was owed, along with his cell phone and wallet, were all taken. The victim was treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
ATTEMPTED LARCENY FROM AUTO, 12/27/2007, 3200 block N 1 Rd. On December 27 around 3:44 am, a subject was seen rifling through a parked vehicle. The suspect and the two others who were with him fled on foot towards N. Jackson St. once a witness yelled at them. The suspect who was seen in the vehicle is described as a black male, 18 – 20 years old, approximately 6 feet tall, 185 pounds, wearing jeans and a dark blue puffy jacket. The only description on the other subjects is that one was wearing a gray sweatshirt and the other was wearing a white hat.
FELONY HIT & RUN, 12/26/2007, 5600 block N. 8th St. On December 26 around 5:58 am, a pedestrian was trying to confront a driver over a personal dispute when he was struck by the vehicle. The pedestrian sustained minor injuries. The driver left the scene and a warrant was issued for his arrest. The suspect, Napoleon Salvador-Perla, 43, of Arlington, was later located and was arrested for felony Hit and Run. He was released on personal recognizance.
FELONY HIT & RUN, 12/26/2007, I-66 Eastbound at exit 73 On December 26 around 8:52 pm, a Porsche Carrera was eastbound on I-66 when a vehicle struck the Porsche from behind. The Porsche spun due to the impact and struck a jersey wall in the roadway. There were no injuries reported but the Porsche sustained significant damage. The suspect vehicle is described as possibly being a Nissan Pathfinder, blue or black in color, possibly with New Jersey tags.
VANDALISM, 12/26/2007, 600 block of N. Irving St. Between 5:15 pm on December 25 and 7:30 am on December 26, someone entered a church, clogged two sinks in the kitchen and left the water running. Several rooms flooded before the vandalism was discovered. Some musical equipment was also destroyed.
BURGLARY, 12/24/2007, 800 block of N. Randolph St. Between 6:30 pm on December 21 and 9:30 am on December 24, someone forced open the doors to a business and took 3 computers.
BURGLARY, 12/24/2007, 1200 block of S. Fern St. Between 5:30 pm on December 23 and 5:30 am on December 24, someone entered the loading dock of a package delivery company and took an undetermined number of boxes.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 12/24/2007, 2700 block of N. 23rd Street. Between 7 pm on December 23 and 7:30 am on December 24, someone slashed the tires on three parked vehicles.
FELONY HIT AND RUN/FALSE POLICE REPORT, 12/24/2007, N. Glebe Rd. at 16th Street. At approximately 12:43 am on December 24, a Toyota SUV traveling southbound on Glebe Road rear-ended a car stopped at a traffic light. The driver of the striking vehicle and a passenger fled on foot. At approximately 11:09 am, the owner of the SUV called police to claim his vehicle had been stolen. Ciriaco Perez Perez, 34, of Alexandria, was taken into custody and charged with Felony Hit and Run and False Police Report.
LARCENY FROM AUTO/ARRESTS, 12/24/2007, 1300 block of S. Crystal Drive. At approximately 7:18 pm on December 24, officers responded for a report of 2 men breaking into vehicles. Two suspects were located who matched the descriptions provided by a witness. A GPS unit taken from a vehicle was found nearby. Another GPS device was found in a bag that one of the suspects was carrying. That device was taken from another vehicle earlier in the evening. The two suspects were taken into custody for grand larceny, petit larceny and destruction of property. One is a 17 year old juvenile. The other is 18 year old Andrew Franklin of Washington, D.C.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 12/23/2007, 4700 block S. 30 St. Sometime between December 22 and December 23, a resident found that a basement window located under her back porch was opened from the outside. No entry appears to have been gained.
BURGLARY, 12/23/2007, 1000 block of N. Arlington Blvd. At approximately 15:03 on December 23, a resident caught a 14 year old juvenile coming out of his apartment. The victim searched the suspect and then let him go. It was later determined the suspect had stashed the victim’s laptop computer, 2 cameras and other items in a closet. Officers responding to the scene stopped the suspect in the parking lot and took him into custody.
BURGLARY, 12/21/2007, 2000 block of S. Glebe Rd. At approximately 17:25 on December 21, someone used a rock to smash a glass door and enter a residence. It does not appear anything was taken.
ATTEMPTED GRAND LARCENY FROM PERSON, 12/21/2007, Unit block of S. Carlin Springs Rd. At approximately 5:11 am on December 21, a 31 year old man was purchasing food inside a convenience store when 3 men entered the store. One of the men stuck his hand in the victim’s pocket. The victim left the store and was followed outside by the suspects. A Police officer responding to another call observed an altercation between the victim and 2 of the suspects. The officer stopped and took the 2 suspects into custody. The 3rd subject, who did not participate in the incident, fled on foot. Oscar Arancibia Escobar, 26, of Arlington was charged with felony attempted grand larceny from a person and held on a $3000 secured bond. Kevin Cecil Warren, 32, of Alexandria, was charged with disorderly conduct.
GRAND LARCENY AUTO/LARCENY FROM AUTO/RECKLESS DRIVING, 12/20/2007, 850 block Army Navy Drive. On December 20 at approximately 6:41 pm, officers were dispatched to the Pentagon City Mall for a larceny from auto in progress involving a white Jeep Cherokee as a suspect vehicle. Two cars had been broken into – one had a stereo/GPS system stolen and the other had a handgun stolen. Officers located the Cherokee later the same evening in Washington DC, but the suspects had fled the scene. They are described as being two black males, in their twenties, wearing baggy clothing. The Cherokee was later reported to have been stolen from the Mall parking garage earlier the same afternoon. The investigation is ongoing.
ATTEMPTED GRAND LARCENY/POSSESSION OF BURGLARIOUS TOOLS – ARREST, 12/20/2007, 1300 block S. George Mason Dr. On December 20 around 1:46 am, officers were dispatched to S. George Mason Dr. and S. 13 Rd for a report of a possible larceny in progress. Officers apprehended two suspects who were inside of the victim vehicle. The stereo was partially removed and there was damage to the dashboard. One of the suspects was found to have several screwdrivers in his possession. Jesus Franco, 18, of Washington DC, was arrested and charged with Attempted Grand Larceny and Destruction of Property, and was held on a $3000 secured bond. Manuel Sanchez, 19, of Bladensburg, MD, was arrested and charged with Attempted Grand Larceny, Possession of Burglarious Tools and Destruction of Property. He was held on a $4500 secured bond.
BURGLARY, 12/19/2007, 1600 block of S. Joyce St. Sometime between 8 pm on December 18 and 7:30 am on December 19, someone broke into a business through the front door and took cash from the register.
BURGLARY, 12/19/2007, 4400 block of N. 4 Rd. Sometime between 8 am and 8:20 pm on December 19, someone entered a residence through unknown means and took a laptop, camera and other assorted personal property.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 12/19/2007, 2500 block of N. 25 St. Sometime between 4 pm on December 16 and 11 am on December 19, someone forced open a window on a vacant residence. Nothing appears to have been taken.
SUSPCIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES, 12/19/2007, 700 block of N. Monroe St. On December 19 around 8:10 pm, a 25 year old woman was sitting in her car when a man who is not known to her walked up and began talking to her in a sexually explicit manner. The victim was able to drive away. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a medium build, wearing blue jeans, a gray jacket and green baseball cap.
FELON IN POSSESSION OF A FIREARM/LARCENY FROM AUTO, 12/19/2007, 300 block of S. Highland St. On December 19 around 1:51 am, officers were dispatched to the 300 block of S. Highland Street for a report of a tampering with auto. Officers located a suspect who had entered a vehicle. The suspect was in possession of a loaded hand gun. Darryl Jones, 43, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and Larceny from Auto. He was held without bond.
BURGLARY, 12/19/2007, 100 block S. Glebe Rd. At approximately 4:24 am on December 19, officers responded to a store for an activated burglar alarm. The deadbolt had been tampered with and the door was unsecured. The store was searched and no one was inside. It is unknown if anything was taken.
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, 12/18/2007, 5000 block Columbia Pike. On December 18 around 8 pm, a man and woman were followed by two men while they were walking to a bus stop. The suspects demanded the victims’ money. The victims were assaulted when they said that they did not have any money – they did not sustain any injuries. The suspects fled north on Dinwiddie Street, one on foot and one on a bicycle. An Officer located and apprehended the suspect who was on the bicycle in the 4700 block of Columbia Pike. Jose Martinez-Chavez, 29, of unknown address, was arrested and charged with two counts of Attempted Robbery. He was held with no bond.
FELONY HIT AND RUN, 12/18/2007, Route 50 Westbound/ramp to Fairfax Dr. At approximately 10:40 pm on December 18, a Toyota Camry and a gray taxi cab were traveling westbound on Route 50 in the area of Fairfax Dr. The taxi sideswiped the Camry, forcing the Camry off the road. The taxi fled the scene. There were no injuries reported, but the Camry sustained significant damage.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 12/17/2007, 900 block N. Stuart St. On December 17 around 1:24 am, a 26 year old man tried to intervene in an altercation between two other men. The victim was punched repeatedly and was stabbed in the face with a knife. The suspect fled the scene. He is described as a Hispanic male wearing dark pants, a red shirt, black coat and black hat. The victim was treated at a local hospital for a non-life threatening cut to his face. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY, 12/17/2007, 2400 block S. Lowell St. Sometime between 6 pm on December 16 and 10 am on December 17, someone broke into the Community Center. Cash was taken and property was damaged.
LARCENY FROM AUTO/DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 12/17/2007, 5500 block Columbia Pike Sometime between 9:30 pm on December 16 and 7:40 am on December 17, someone broke into four cars parked in the area. Several Ipods and assorted personal property were taken.
LARCENY (SERIES), 12/17/2007, 3900 block Wilson Blvd Sometime between 1:30 pm and 3:20 pm on December 17, someone entered three lockers in a gym. Cash, a phone, and a wallet were taken from two of the lockers. The suspect took a set of car keys from the third locker then used the keys to enter the victim’s car, where a wallet and cell phone were taken.
ARMED ROBBERY, 12/17/2007, 2400 block of Jefferson Davis Highway At approximately 12:37 am on December 17, a man and a woman were getting into their car when 2 suspects approached. One of the suspects was armed with a gun. They demanded money and the keys to the vehicle. As the victims were trying to comply the car alarm went off. One of the suspects then punched the male victim and both suspects ran to a waiting vehicle and fled. They took the victim’s keys and some cash. Both suspects are described as black males in their early 20’s. The one with the gun was approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall with an average build and short, braided hair. He was wearing a puffy, black coat. The second suspect was shorter and heavier and wore a black knit cap and a puffy, black jacket. Their vehicle was described as an older model, blue, 2-door sedan.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 12/16/2007, 200 block of N. Glebe Rd. At approximately 11:50 pm on December 16, officers responded for a report of a fight in the 200 block of N. Glebe Road. Three victims were located in the area. Two of them had been stabbed and the other was struck several times with a baseball bat. The victims said they were walking home from a party when they were attacked by a group of 8 to 10 men. The victims were treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening wounds.
LARCENY FROM AUTO/ARREST, 12/15/2007, 300 block of N. Granada St. At approximately 10:50 pm on December 15, officers responded for a report of a larceny from auto in progress. A suspect had gained entry to a minivan by smashing a driver’s side window. A witness provided a description of the suspect and he was stopped a short time later by an officer responding to the scene. Several items taken from the victim’s car were recovered including an iPod and a satellite radio unit. Jorge Martinez, 19, or Arlington, was charged with grand larceny from auto, destruction of property and possession of burglarious tools.
ATTEMPTED GRAND LARCENY AUTO/ARREST, 12/15/2007, 5300 block of S. 7th Road At approximately 4:17 am on December 15, officers responded to S. 7th Road and Greenbrier Street for a report of someone tampering with a vehicle. The first officers on the scene located one suspect inside the vehicle and took him into custody. A second suspect took off running but a K-9 unit found him hiding in a shed in the backyard of a home on S. 8th Road. Two additional stolen vehicles were recovered in the area.
BURGLARY/ARREST, 12/15/2007, 900 block of S. Highland St. At approximately 3 am on December 15, a man entered an office building by breaking a basement window. Once inside, the suspect went to the fourth floor and consumed several bottles of alcohol. Several hours later, he exited the business through the front door. At approximately 8:39 pm that evening, an officer spotted the suspect at a fast food restaurant and took him into custody. Garang Aher Arol, 30, of Arlington was charged with Burglary and Petit Larceny and held on a $6,000 secured bond.
BURGLARY, 12/14/2007, 4500 block of S. 31st St. Between 2 pm and 11:30 pm on December 14, someone broke into an apartment and took 2 large televisions and other electronic items.
HIT & RUN (FELONY), 12/13/2007, N. George Mason Dr/Henderson Rd. At approximately 11:07 pm on December 13, a Toyota Corolla was southbound on N. George Mason Dr. in the left lane. A grey Toyota SUV was also southbound on George Mason Dr. in the right lane. The SUV attempted to change lanes and struck the Corolla in the process. The SUV fled the scene. There were no injuries reported, but there was significant damage to the Corolla.
BURGLARY (SERIES), 12/13/2007, 1500 block N. Pierce St. Sometime between 9:30 pm on December 12 and 4:45 am on December 13, someone entered a construction site and took copper wire, plumbing equipment, and assorted construction items from storage areas. The storage areas are individually owned.
BURGLARY, 12/13/2007, 1900 block S. Eads St. Sometime between 3:15 pm on December 12 and 8 am on December 13, someone entered a maintenance room by unknown means and took toolboxes and assorted tools.
BURGLARY, 12/13/2007, 400 block N. Monroe St. Sometime between 5:30 pm and 5:43 pm on December 13, someone entered a residence and took a set of keys. It is unknown how entry was gained.
LARCENY FROM AUTO/DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY/ATTEMPTED GRAND LARCENY AUTO (SERIES) , 12/13/2007, 4800 block S. 31 St, 2800 block S. Wakefield St, 2600 block S. Arlington Mill Dr. Sometime between approximately 7 pm on December 12 and 7 am on December 13, someone broke into six vehicles parked in the area. Cash, a GPS unit, a radio, and assorted personal property were taken from several of the vehicles. One of the cars had damage to the steering column.
PEEPING TOM, 12/13/2007, 1500 block S. 28 St. On December 13 around 6:20 am, a man was seen looking into the window of an apartment. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall, wearing a leather jacket and baseball cap. The investigation is ongoing.
HIT & RUN (FELONY), 12/12/2007, S. Carlin Springs Rd/ S. 7 Rd. At approximately 9:10 pm on December 12, a Toyota Corolla was traveling northbound on Carlin Springs Rd. at the intersection of S. 7 Rd. A black Jeep SUV made a left turn into the path of the Toyota from southbound Carlin Springs Rd. onto S. 7 Rd. The two cars collided and the Toyota sustained significant damage, but no injuries were reported. The Jeep fled the scene eastbound on S. 7 Rd.
LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 12/12/2007, 900 block N Randolph St, 500 block N. Piedmont St, & 900 block N. Stuart St. Sometime between 4:30 pm on December 11 and 7 am on December 12, someone broke into four cars parked in parking garages in the area. IPODs and car stereos were taken.
LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 12/12/2007, 2700 block S. Quincy St. Sometime between 9:35 am and noon on December 12 someone broke into two cars parked in the parking garage. GPS units were taken.
BURGLARY, 12/11/2007, 900 block S. 15 St. Sometime between 9 pm on December 10 and 6:30 am on December 11, someone took two HDTV’s from secured resident-use common areas of an apartment building. It is unknown how entry was gained.
BURGLARY, 12/11/2007, 1900 block Fort Myer Dr. Sometime between 7 pm on December 10 and 6:45 am on December 11, someone tried to break into an office by prying a lock and cutting through drywall. Entry was not gained.
LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 12/10/2007, 1500 block Arlington Blvd Sometime between 8:30 pm on December 9 and 6:30 am on December 10, someone broke into four vehicles parked at a hotel. An IPOD, DVD player and radio were taken.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 12/10/2007, 3700 block of Columbia Pike Between 12:27 am and 12:47 am on December 10, a 33 year old man was attacked by 2 men outside a restaurant. One of the suspects stabbed the victim in the abdomen with an unknown object. The victim was treated for a minor injury. He recognized one of the suspects but the motive for the attack is unknown.
ARMED ROBBERY, 12/10/2007, 2000 block of S. Kenmore St. At approximately 12:14 am on December 10, two men were sitting inside an apartment when 2 masked men armed with handguns entered and ordered the victims to get on the floor. The suspects took cell phones, cash and other items from the victims and then fled. They are described as black males, approximately 20 years of age. One of the suspects was approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and the other was 5 feet 11 inches tall.
ARMED ROBBERY, 12/10/2007, 4700 block of N. Lee Highway Between 12:30 am and 12:40 am on December 10, a 31 year old man was walking down the street when two men approached him and asked him a question. While he was talking with them, a third man hit the victim on the back with an unknown object and knocked him to the ground. The suspects attempted to get the victim’s wallet but were unsuccessful and fled with his cell phone. The first two suspects are described as young Hispanic males, approximately 17 years of age, and about 5 feet six inches tall. Both wore hooded sweatshirts with White Sox logos.
BURGLARY, 12/8/2007, 2100 block S. Oxford St. Sometime between 7 am on November 22 and 3 am on December 8, someone broke into a storage shed and stole a moped. The keys to the moped had been stolen prior to this incident.
BURGLARY, 12/8/2007, 2100 block of N. Military Road At approximately 11:15 pm on December 8, officers responded to a report of juveniles carrying cases of beer into the back yard of a home. The owner of the home was reported to be out of town. One adult male,18 year old Ryan Scheurer of Arlington, was arrested for burglary. Officers also detained 14 juveniles for burglary and underage possession of alcohol.
ROBBERY, 12/8/2007, 5100 block of S. 10th St. At approximately 12:15 pm on December 8, a man was walking down the street when three suspects approached. One of them punched the victim in the face and the other two suspects held the victim down while the first took his wallet. The suspects fled on foot but the victim and two witnesses gave chase and caught one of the suspects. Later, the other 2 suspects were located and detained. All three are juveniles.
LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 12/7/2007, 1100 & 1200 blocks of S. Hayes St. Between 6 am and 3:50 pm on December 7, someone broke into three vehicles in mall parking garages and took GPS unites, electronics devices and other items.
BURGLARY, 12/7/2007, 2200 block of N. Westmoreland St. Between 9:30 am and 1:20 pm on December 7, someone entered a restaurant through a rear door and took cash.
BURGLARY, 12/7/2007, 2700 block of S. Veitch St. At approximately 8:40 pm on December 7, someone broke into a model apartment through a window. The suspect fled before officers arrived. It does not appear anything was taken.
BURGLARY, 12/7/2007, 5900 block of Arlington Blvd. Between 8:45 am and 8 pm on December 7, someone entered a home and took a laptop computer and checkbook. There were no signs of forced entry.
BURGLARY, 12/7/2007, 5900 block of Arlington Blvd. Between 10 am and 11 pm on December 7, someone entered a residence through a window and took 3 laptop computers and some change.
INDECENT EXPOSURE, 12/7/2007, 4400 block N. 4 Rd. On December 7 around 11:36 pm, a 25 year old woman was in the laundry room in an apartment building when a man knocked on the window and began masturbating. K-9 did a track but the suspect had fled the scene. The suspect is described as a white male in his mid twenties, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, 170 pounds, with shaggy black hair, wearing blue jeans and a blue shirt. The investigation is ongoing.
LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 12/6/2007, 900 block S. Orme St Sometime between the hours of 6 pm on December 5 and 6:20 am on December 6, someone broken into five cars parked in the area. IPODs and assorted electronic equipment were taken.
BURGLARY, 12/5/2007, 2200 block N. 12 St Sometime between 4 pm on December 4 and 5:30 am on December 5, someone broke into a storage area in a construction site and took several boxes of copper fittings.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES, 12/5/2007, 900 block S. Frederick St On December 5 around 4:10 pm, a 15 year old female was walking home after getting off of the school bus. A man driving a tan Hyundai began to follow her and tried to engage her in conversation. The victim was able to walk to her apartment building where she called police. She describes the subject as being a white male in his mid forties, with a full beard.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY/LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 12/5/2007, 1100 block S. Hayes St. Sometime between 11:30 am and 5:55 pm on December 5, someone broke into seven cars parked in a parking garage. A GPS unit, personal items, and assortment of electronic devices were taken from the vehicles. Suspects seen in the area are described as three black males, possibly 19 to 20 years old, one with dreadlocks.
BURGLARY, 12/4/2007, 1900 block S. Lowell St Sometime between 11 pm on December 2 and 9 pm on December 4, someone entered an unoccupied residence through unknown means. Plumbing was broken, causing extensive water damage, and several personal items were taken.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 12/4/2007, 1600 block S. Eads St Sometime between 8 pm on December 3 and 9 am on December 4, someone damaged a door to a residence. No entry appears to have been gained.
FELONY HIT & RUN, 12/4/2007, 300 block S. 12 St On December 4 around 6:45 am, a pedestrian was crossing S. 12 St near S. Clark St in a crosswalk. A Dodge Caravan traveling east on S. 12 St yielded to the pedestrian, but a white sedan traveling west did not. The pedestrian fell onto the Dodge Caravan while trying to avoid being struck by the sedan. The suspect vehicle fled the scene. The pedestrian suffered minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital.
ROBBERY/GRAND LARCENY/CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT GRAND LARCENY, 12/4/2007, 2700 block Columbia Pike At approximately 3:45 pm on December 4, four suspects entered a store carrying empty knapsacks and tote bags. The suspects filled the bags with merchandise. Store personnel attempted to stop them and a physical altercation ensued. The suspects fled the store and were stopped in a vehicle in the 1200 block of South Walter Reed by police. They were positively identified and the stolen property was recovered. JaParker Jones, 19, of Washington DC and Deonte Turner, 18, of Alexandria, were charged with Robbery and Conspiracy to Commit Grand Larceny. Tanesha Ford, 19, and Michael Harris, 22, of Washington DC, were charged with Conspiracy to Commit Grand Larceny and Grand Larceny. All suspects were held without bond.
POSSESSION OF COCAINE WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE WITHIN A SCHOOL ZONE, 12/4/2007, 2400 block S. Lowell St. On December 4 around 4:50 pm, police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. During a search of the car, multiple individually wrapped pieces of cocaine were located, as was a baggy of marijuana. Stephen Thompson, 26, of Woodbridge, was arrested and charged with Possession with the Intent to Distribute within a School Zone (cocaine), Possession with the Intent to Distribute (cocaine), and Possession of Marijuana. He was held with no bond.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 12/3/2007, 1100 block of N. Arlington Blvd. Between 3 pm and 8:26 pm on December 3, someone attempted to pry open the door to an apartment. Nothing was taken.
FELONY HIT AND RUN, 12/2/2007, N. Glebe Rd. and Arlington Blvd. At approximately 12:54 am on December 2, a Honda Accord traveling northbound on Glebe Road sideswiped another car tearing off the side-view mirror. The striking vehicle did not stop but was later located in Fairfax County. The driver, Margaret Carey, 29, of Fairfax, was arrested and charged with Felony Hit and Run.
ASSAULT BY MOB, 12/1/2007, 4200 block of N. Wilson Blvd. At approximately 12:30 am on December 1, a 25 year old man was walking down the street when he passed a group of four young men walking in the other direction. The victim says the suspects jumped him. They punched and kicked him and knocked him to the ground before running away. The victim suffered minor injuries to his face.
FELONY HIT AND RUN, 11/30/2007, Columbia Pike at S. Oakland St. At approximately 12:43 am on November 30, a 20 year old man was crossing Columbia Pike when a white Hyundai Elantra struck him. The car did not stop after the accident, but officers located it later parked at the intersection of S. 9th and S. Monroe Streets. The driver, 41 year old Guido Pinto Miranda of Springfield was arrested and charged with Felony Hit and Run and Driving without a License. The victim suffered minor scraps and bruises.
BURGLARY, 11/29/2007, 900 block S. Monroe St. Between 5 pm on November 27 and 4:50 pm on November 29, someone broke into an unoccupied house through a window and took a heater. Damage was sustained to several other heaters, as well as to other property within the house.
BURGLARY, 11/29/2007, 3200 block Wilson Blvd On November 29 around 5 am, officers were dispatched to 3298 Wilson Blvd. A suspect who had entered the business through a rear window was taken into custody. The suspect was armed with a screw driver at the time, and had taken cash from one of the registers. Brian Waldron, 53, of Arlington, was arrested and charged with Burglary, Grand Larceny, and Possession of Burglarious Tools. He was held on no bond.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY/LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 11/28/2007, 2600 block Jefferson Davis Highway. Sometime between 12:15 am and 8:15 am on November 28, someone broke out windows on three vehicles parked in a garage. A GPS unit was taken from one of the cars.

BURGLARY, 11/27/2007, 6600 block of N. 31st St. Between 2 pm and 7:30 pm on November 27, someone broke a window to gain entry to a residence and took a laptop computer.
BURGLARY, 11/27/2007, 1700 block of N. Wilson Blvd. Between 4 pm on November 26 and 7 am on November 27, someone took a laptop computer from a business. There were no signs of forced entry.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 11/25/2007, Various locations Between 9:45 pm on November 24 and 6:07 pm on November 25, at least 4 vehicles were damaged by gun shots. Locations included the 800 Block of S. Wayne St., 2100 block of S. 8th St., 1800 block of N. Scott St. and 1700 block of N. 14th St.
BURGLARY, 11/24/2007, 1102 N. Taylor St. Between 11:30 am on November 23 and 6:30 pm on November 24, someone pried open the back door to a residence. It does not appear anything was taken.
ROBBERY, 11/24/2007, 1100 block of S. Hayes St. Between 7:15 pm and 7:20 pm on November 24, a 19 year old woman was in a store when her phone vibrated in her pocket. When she took the phone out of her pocket a man grabbed it out of her hand and ran.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 11/23/2007, Various locations Between 1 pm on November 22 and 11 am on November 23, someone smashed out the windows on at least 5 vehicles. The locations included the 2300 block of N. Quincy St., 2600 block of N. Quincy St., 2600 block of N. Stuart St., 200 block of N. Nottingham St., and 2100 block of N. Pollard St.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 11/23/2007, Various locations Between 1 am and 9 am on November 23, someone smashed the driver’s side mirrors on at least 5 parked vehicles. The locations included the 5400 block of 36th Street, 1100 block of Illinois St. and 3300 block of Kensington St.
INDECENT EXPOSURE, 11/22/2007, 1200 block of N. Hudson Blvd. Between 1:45 am and 2 am on November 22, a 24 year old woman was walking home when a man approached and struck up a conversation. The man followed the victim for a short distance and then exposed himself to her. The suspect is described as a white male, 27-28 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 160 lbs. with dirty blond hair and a pale complexion.
ROBBERY, 11/22/2007, 4200 block of N. Fairfax Dr. Between 8:12 pm on November 21 and 1:00 am on November 22, a 28 year old man was assaulted by several suspects and one of them took his money clip, cash, and the victim’s state identification card.

The locations included the 5700 block of Washington Blvd., 2500, 3100 and 3700 blocks of Military Rd., 800, 900 and 1000 blocks of Patrick Henry Drive, 1500 and 1600 blocks of Edison St., 1200 block of Frederick St., 4200 block of N. 31 St., 4300 and 4500 blocks of N. 26th St., 1500 block of Jefferson St., 1600 and 2800 blocks of Harrison St. and 900 block of N. Liberty St.
SEXUAL BATTERY, 11/21/2007, 1300 block of N. Highland St. At approximately 8:41 pm on November 21, a 34 year old woman was walking home from the Clarendon Metro Station when a man rode up behind her on a bicycle and groped her. The suspect is described as an Asian or Middle Eastern man in his early 20’s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, with shoulder length black hair and no facial hair.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 11/20/2007, 1500 block S. George Mason Dr. Sometime between the hours of 5 am and 5 pm on November 20, two men tried to break into a residence. No entry was gained. One of the suspects is described as a white male, 30 to 34 years old, about 6 feet tall, 180 pounds, wearing a white t-shirt, dark blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. The other suspect is described as a black male, 30 to 34 years old, 5 feet 9 to 5 feet 11 inches tall, 180 pounds, bald, wearing a white t-shirt and dark pants.
ARMED ROBBERY, 11/20/2007, 700 block S. Wayne St On November 20 around 12:07 am, a 54 year old man was walking in the area when he was approached by two men. The suspects took the victim’s wallet and implied that they had a weapon. The suspects fled the area on foot. They are described as black males, in their 20’s, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, 140 to 160 pounds. One was wearing a dark jacket, dark pants and black beanie hat and the other was wearing a grey cap and dark clothes.

BURGLARY, 11/19/2007, 2300 block S. Crystal Dr Sometime between 5:30 pm on November 16 and 7:30 am on November 19, someone entered a business through unknown means and took five laptop computers and a U.S. Passport.
FELONY HIT & RUN, 11/19/2007, S. 24 Rd/S. Shirlington Rd. On November 19 around 11:17 am, a Ford Escape was stopped at the intersection of S. 24 Rd. and S. Shirlington Rd. A blue/grey Ford SUV, possibly a Bronco, made a right turn from northbound Shirlington Rd onto eastbound S. 24 Rd, striking the Ford. The SUV left the scene driving east on S. 24 Rd. There were no injuries reported but significant damage was sustained.
LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 11/19/2007, 1400 block S. Joyce St. Sometime between 2 pm on November 18 and 8:48 pm on November 19, someone entered two cars by breaking out windows. A GPS unit was taken from one of the vehicles. This appears to be related to a recent series of larceny from autos involving GPS units.
ROBBERY, 11/19/2007, 4200 block Fairfax Dr On November 19 around 1:50 am, a man entered a store and took cash from the clerk. The suspect used a tent pole as a weapon. The suspect fled the scene on foot. A K-9 unit attempted to track the suspect with negative results. The suspect is described as a black male with dark skin, approximately 40 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 180 pounds, wearing a black hoodie, red undershirt, dark pants and dark shoes. The investigation is ongoing.
SEXUAL BATTERY, 11/18/2007, 1800 block N. Quinn St. On November 18 around 1:15 am, a 22 year old woman was walking home from the Georgetown area when she reports that a man ran up behind her and groped her. The victim screamed and the suspect fled, running north on N. Quinn St. A K-9 unit attempted to track the suspect with negative results. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, 160 to 170 pounds, wearing a black baseball cap, dark fleece shirt and light colored pants.
BURGLARY, 11/18/2007, 1500 block Jefferson Davis Highway On November 18 around 10:45 am, a man entered an occupied residence through unknown means. The man was found by a roommate to be looking into a bedroom occupied by another resident. The suspect fled the scene. He is described as a white male with an olive complexion, 24 to 26 years old, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, 160 pounds, wearing a brown or black zip-up jacket and blue jeans.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 11/18/2007, 200 block N. Wayne St. Sometime between 11:30 am and 2:20 pm on November 18, someone tried to pry open a door to a residence. It does not appear that entry was gained.
FELONY HIT & RUN, 11/18/2007, 2300 block S. Jefferson Davis Highway On November 18 around 2:08 am, a moped was traveling south on Jefferson Davis Highway in the center lane when the driver attempted to change to the right lane. The right lane was occupied by a black Hyundai at the time, and the two collided. The moped was knocked over during the collision. The Hyundai fled the scene, driving towards National Airport. The driver sustained minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital.
LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 11/17/2007, 1000 block S. Jefferson St. Sometime between November 16 and November 17, someone entered a vehicle through unknown means and took a GPS unit. This appears to be related to a recent series of larceny from autos involving GPS units.
ROBBERY, 11/16/2007, 2900 block S. Columbus St. On November 16 around 11:34 pm, a 28 year old man was walking to his car when he noticed an SUV driving slowly in the area. The vehicle is described as a white SUV four door, possibly a Ford Bronco. The victim was approached by two men who exited the vehicle. The suspects demanded the victim’s money, and the victim complied. The suspects left the scene in the SUV. The suspects, including the driver, are described as black males, in their teens or early twenties. One was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and had cornrows. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY, 11/16/2007, 900 block N. Stuart St. Sometime between 3 am and 8 am on November 16, someone entered an unlocked occupied residence and took a laptop computer.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY/LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 11/16/2007, 5200 block S. 7 Rd. Sometime between 5:30 pm on November 15 and 7:05 am on November 16, someone broke into three vehicles parked in the area by smashing out windows. A stereo faceplate was taken from one of the cars.
INDECENT EXPOSURE, 11/15/2007, 2000 block N. Woodstock St On November 15 around 3 pm, a 32 year old woman was in Woodstock Park in the playground area when a young man exposed himself. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, between 12 and14 years of age, dark hair, about 5 feet 4 inches tall, 180 to 200 pounds, wearing baggy blue shorts and a white sweatshirt. The suspect possibly got off of a school bus that was letting children off in the area.
FELONY HIT & RUN, 11/15/2007, I-395 S/Arlington Ridge Rd. On November 15 around 7:45 am, a Toyota pickup truck was southbound on I-395 near the exit for Arlington Ridge Rd when it was struck in the rear by a white car. The victim vehicle was sent spinning into the guardrail and it sustained significant damage. No injuries were reported.
LARCENY FROM LOCKER (SERIES) , 11/14/2007, 1200 block S. Joyce St Sometime between the hours of 10:05 am and 11:10 am on November 14, someone broke into two lockers at a gym and stole two wallets.
POSSSESSION OF BB GUN UNDER THE AGE OF 15, 11/14/2007, 1500 block Clarendon Blvd At approximately 7:42 am on November 14, officers responded to the area in reference to a man with a gun. A witness observed several Hispanic males passing what appeared to be a handgun back and forth. The suspects got onto an Arlington County School Bus. An Officer located the bus and it was stopped in the 1700 Block of North Adams Street. The suspect was located and a BB gun was recovered from beneath the suspect’s seat. The bus was occupied by students from Wakefield and New Directions. The suspect was transported to juvenile court where a petition was obtained for Possession of a BB Gun Under the Age of 15 Without an Adult Present.
ARMED ROBBERY, 11/13/2007, S. 23 St/S. Hayes St. On November 13 around 9:45 pm, a 28 year old man was waiting at a bus stop in the area. He was approached by a man and woman. The man displayed a handgun and demanded the victim’s belongings. The victim complied and turned over his gym bag along with other personal items. The suspects fled north on S. Hayes St. K-9 tracked in the area but was unable to locate the suspects. The male suspect is described as black, approximately 6 feet tall, 200 pounds, wearing a black one piece jump suit with a hood. The female suspect is described as black, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, 120 pounds, in her mid teens, with her hair in corn rows, and wearing dark jeans with a dark zip up jacket.

LARCENY FROM AUTO, 11/12/2007, 1300 block S. George Mason Dr. Sometime between 9:40 pm on November 12 and 10:40 am on November 13, someone broke out the window to a vehicle and took a GPS system and other assorted items.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 11/12/2007, 2400 block N. Tuckahoe St, 1700 block N. Jefferson St. Sometime between November 11 and 12, three cars parked in the area were hit with paintballs, causing damage to the vehicles.
ARMED ROBBERY, 11/12/2007, 1200 block S. Eads St. On November 12 around 11:39 pm, a 37 year old man was unloading his parked vehicle in the rear of a parking lot when he was robbed at gunpoint by two black males armed with pistols. The suspects had gotten out of a black Jeep Cherokee or Liberty with dark tinted windows. The suspects took the victim’s backpack and other personal items. The suspects fled the parking lot towards S. Eads St. Both of the suspects as well as the driver of the Jeep are described as black males, in their 20’s, 6 feet tall, approximately 170 pounds, wearing black jackets, black pants and black knit caps.
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, 11/12/2007, 2800 block Clarendon Blvd. On November 12 around 11:37 pm, a 30 year old man was walking to his vehicle when he was approached by a man who demanded his wallet. The victim got into his vehicle, left the scene and called police. The suspect was later located by officers at the Courthouse Metro station. Alejandro Blanco Reyes, 32, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with attempted robbery. He was held with no bond.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 11/12/2007, 900 block S. Columbus St. On November 12 at approximately 8 am, a 37 year old man was stabbed by a man known to him. The victim sustained a cut to his shoulder and was treated on the scene. The suspect was located by officers nearby. Calvin Jackson, 48, of Maryland, was arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding. He was held with no bond.
MISSILE AT OCCUPIED DWELLING, 11/12/2007, 4900 block S. Chesterfield Rd. On November 12 around 12:30 am, someone fired at least two bb’s into the window of a residence. No one was injured and the investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY, 11/11/2007, 3500 block N 8th St. Sometime between the hours of 9:30 am on November 10 and 11:30 am on November 11, someone forced entry into a residence through a window. Nothing appears to have been taken.
LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 11/11/2007, 2600 block S. 8th St. Sometime between 6 pm on November 10 and 9:44 am on November 11, someone broke into three vehicles parked in the area. A CD player, digital camera, and navigation system were stolen.
ENTICEMENT, 11/10/2007, 6100 block N. 22 St. On November 10 at around 10 am, three juveniles were walking on N. Lexington St. when a man tried to lure them to his car. The juveniles fled and the man drove away. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, with short dark hair, thin sideburns, a thin moustache and hair under his bottom lip, wearing a long-sleeved dark blue collared shirt. The suspect’s white four door vehicle is described as being dirty.
FELONY HIT & RUN, 11/10/2007, 1900 block S. Kenmore St. On November 10 at 10:27 pm, a Volkswagen Passat was southbound on S. Kenmore St when a Honda Civic traveling northbound drove onto the wrong side of the road and struck the Passat. The Civic fled the scene. There was significant damage to both vehicles, and the driver of the Passat sustained minor injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 11/9/2007, 1100 block S. Thomas St. On November 9 around 8:15 pm, a 33 year old man was attempting to make a food delivery in the area when he was approached by four men. One of the suspects held a gun to the victim and demanded his money. The victim gave the suspect his money and then the suspect struck the victim in the head with the gun. The victim sustained a minor laceration. The suspects fled northbound on S. Thomas St. in an early model small white Chevrolet. The suspects are described as black males, young in age. The suspect with the gun was heavy set, approximately 24 years old, wearing a black leather coat with a fur collar.

LARCENY FROM AUTO, 11/7/2007, 1900 block N. Fort Myer Dr. Sometime between 3:30 pm on November 6 and 7 am on November 7, someone broke into a car parked in a parking garage. A GPS unit and assorted items were stolen.
BURGLARY, 11/6/2007, 900 block S. Orme St. In the morning hours of November 6, security detained a suspect who had been seen the previous evening in a secured area of the hotel where offices are located. The suspect was also in possession of a pellet gun. Raymond Griffin, 18, of Washington DC was arrested and charged with burglary and was held on a $1000 bond.
INDECENT LIBERTIES WITH A MINOR, 11/6/2007, 100 block S. Glebe Rd. On November 6 around 4:37 pm, a man exposed himself to an 8 year old girl. The suspect, Kener Chavez-Lopez, 37, of an unknown address, was arrested and charged with Indecent Liberties with a Minor, and was held on a $7500 secured bond.
LARCENY FROM AUTO/VANDALISM TO AUTO (SERIES), 11/6/2007, 2100 block Jefferson Davis Highway. Between 6:30 pm on November 5 and 6:45 am on November 6, four vehicles had windows broken. GPS units and other assorted items were taken from several of the vehicles.
UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A VEHICLE, 11/6/2007, 800 block S. Arlington Mill Dr. On November 6 around 4:32 pm, officers responded to the 800 block of S. Arlington Mill Dr. for a report of a vehicle tampering. Officers saw the vehicle driving in the area and apprehended a driver and two passengers. Two juveniles were charged with Petit Larceny and one was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle.
ROBBERY, 11/5/2007, 600 block N. Randolph St. At approximately 7:43 pm on November 5, a 27 year old man was pushed off of his bicycle by four men. The victim’s cell phone was taken during the incident. The suspects fled on foot eastbound on Wilson Blvd. Three of the suspects were described as black males, 20 to 30 years old, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, 180 pounds, with black hair, wearing black jackets and black jeans. The fourth suspect was described as a middle-eastern male with long black hair, wearing a white t-shirt and black jeans. The victim suffered minor scrapes to his leg.
SEXUAL BATTERY, 11/5/2007, 1800 block N. Highland St. On November 5 around 7:10 pm, a 31 year old woman was walking in the area of 1800 N. Highland St. when she was grabbed by a man as he walked past her. The suspect left the area on foot, walking south on N. Highland St. The suspect is described as possibly being a Hispanic male, approximately 30 years old, 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 8 inches tall, wearing a striped sweater and a baseball hat.
INDECENT EXPOSURE, 11/5/2007, 500 block S. 23 St. On November 5 around 9:10 pm, two women observed a man masturbating near a restaurant in the 500 block of S. 23rd St. Anthony Jones, 39, of North Carolina, was arrested and charged with indecent exposure. He was held on a $1500 secured bond.
FELONY HIT & RUN, 11/5/2007, 1000 block N. Garfield St. At approximately 9:56 pm on November 5, a BMW 525I was driving into a parking garage when a Land Rover SUV struck the BMW’s front end as it was exiting the garage. The BMW sustained significant damage, but no injuries were reported. The Land Rover fled the scene.
FELONY HIT & RUN, 11/5/2007, 1600 block N. George Mason Dr. At approximately 12:33 pm on November 5, a Chevrolet Malibu was exiting a parking garage when a Toyota SUV backed into the Malibu. No injuries were reported, but the Chevrolet sustained significant damage. The Toyota fled the scene.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 11/4/2007, 3000 block of N. Pollard St. At approximately 3:01 am on November 4, officers responded for a report of several suspects breaking into parked vehicles. The suspects smashed windows on two vehicles and entered another unlocked vehicle. A K-9 Unit conducted a track and six juveniles were taken into custody.
LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 11/4/2007, 800 and 900 blocks of S. Buchanan St. Between 10 pm on November 3 and 9:30 am on November 4, someone broke into 4 parked vehicles. Stereos were taken from two of the vehicles.
INDECENT LIBERTIES WITH A MINOR, 11/4/2007, 1400 block of N. Courthouse Rd. Between 10:55 am and 11:40 am on November 4, a 13 year old boy was walking when a man approached him. The suspect tried to engage the boy in conversation and then made an obscene gesture. The boy quickly walked away. He told his father about the incident and they called police. The suspect is described as a white male, 30 to 40 years old, between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall, approximately 200 lbs. with blond hair and blue eyes.
SEXUAL BATTERY, 11/4/2007, 4700 block of N. Wilson Blvd. At approximately 12:45 am on November 4, a 23 year old woman was walking home from the Ballston Metro Station when someone groped her from behind. The victim turned and confronted the suspect and he ran away. He is described as a white male, 50 to 60 years old, about 5 feet 5 inches tall, with a medium build and gray hair.
FELONY HIT AND RUN, 11/3/2007, Route 50 near T. Roosevelt Bridge At Approximately 4:52 am on November 3, a 33 year old man pulled over onto the shoulder of eastbound Route 50 to help another motorist change a flat tire. While he was changing the tire on the disabled vehicle, a pickup truck slammed into the victim’s car. The striking vehicle then fled the scene. The driver was later found in D.C. passed out in the driver’s seat of the pickup truck. A felony Hit and Run warrant was issued for Mario Manuel Machic-Hernanez, 23, of Arlington.
SEXUAL BATTERY, 11/3/2007, 2100 block of N. 15th Street At approximately 1:50 am on November 3, a 23 year old woman was exiting the Courthouse Metro Station on an escalator when someone groped her from behind. The victim screamed and turned around and saw the suspect fleeing back down the escalator. The suspect was approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, with a medium or stocky build.
ARMED ROBBERY, 11/3/2007, 600 block of S. 15th St. At approximately 9:30 pm on November 3, a 57 year old man was walking down the street when he was confronted by a male suspect armed with a gun. The suspect took the victim’s wallet and fled on foot. The suspect is described as a black male, 20-25 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 150-160 lbs., with a medium build and a clean shaven face. He was wearing dark clothing.
BURGLARY, 11/2/2007, 800 block of Glebe Rd. Between 6 pm on October 26 and 3 pm on November 2, someone pried open the door to a vacant building and took a large amount of copper wire.
BURGLARY, 11/2/2007, 1700 block of N. Quesada St. At approximately 11:40 am on November 2, someone entered a home through an open window. A resident was home at the time and may have interrupted the burglary. It does not appear that anything was taken.
SEXUAL BATTERY, 11/2/2007, 4200 block of N. Fairfax Drive At approximately 11:31 pm on November 2, a 19 year old woman was standing in line in a convenience store when someone groped her from behind. She confronted the suspect who denied touching her. A security guard attempted to intervene and was assaulted by the suspect before he fled from the store. The suspect is described as a white, Hispanic male, approximately 30 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 150 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes.
SEXUAL BATTERY, 11/1/2007, 1900 block of N. Lynn St. Between 5:20 pm and 5:22 pm on November 1, a 26 year old woman walking home from the Rosslyn Metro Station reported that a man followed her for about two blocks and then groped her. The suspect is described as a white male, 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, approximately 150 lbs., with a brown beard.
SEXUAL ASSAULT, 11/1/2007, 3800 N. 13th St. On November 1 around 7:50 am, a 16 year old female was walking to school in the 3800 block of N. 13th St when a man walked past her and touched her. The suspect is described as a light-skinned Hispanic male, about 30 years old, with brown hair and brown eyes, wearing a dark colored ball cap, work boots, a blue shirt with a thin white stripe over a red shirt. The man was wearing blue or green boxer shorts and no pants. The investigation is ongoing.
FELONY HIT & RUN, 11/1/2007, S. I-395/ Crystal City exit. On November 1 around 8:33 pm, a Toyota Camry was southbound on I-395 in the left lane when a champagne-colored Cadillac four door struck the Toyota from behind. The Cadillac left the scene, driving south on I-395. The driver of the Toyota sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
FELONY HIT & RUN, 11/1/2007, Route 50/George Mason Dr. On November 1 around 6:53 pm, a Honda Civic was westbound on Route 50 approaching George Mason Dr. The driver of the Honda stopped for traffic when a white SUV struck the Honda from behind. The SUV fled the scene. The driver of the Honda sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
VANDALISM, 10/31/2007, 3300 block N. 3rd St, 300 block N. Lincoln St. On October 31 between 6:30 pm and 10 pm, someone vandalized three cars with spray paint.
BURGLARY, 10/29/2007, 1900 block N. Lynn St. Sometime between noon on October 26 and 7 am on October 29, someone entered a construction site and took rolls of wiring cable.
BURGLARY, 10/29/2007, 1500 block S. Crystal Dr. Sometime around 6:25 pm on October 29, someone entered a business by unknown means and tried to steal four laptop computers. The subject was interrupted by an employee and fled the scene. The suspect is described as a black male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, 165 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair, wearing a baseball hat, black jacket and black pants.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 10/29/2007, 2100 block N. Scott St. Between 7 am and 8 pm on October 29, someone tried to gain access to a residence by drilling a hole near the deadbolt. Entry was not gained.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 10/29/2007, 5100 block of S. 8th Rd. Sometime before 6 pm on October 29, someone attempted to pry open the door to an apartment.
LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 10/29/2007, 3800 block of N. Chesterbrook Rd. Between 11 pm on October 28 and 7 am on October 29, someone entered and rummaged through 6 parked vehicles and attempted to gain entry to another. Various items were taken including electronic devices.
BURGLARY, 10/28/2007, 1600 block of N. 21 St. At approximately 3:30 am October 28, residents of an apartment awoke to find an unknown a resident inside the home. When they confronted him the suspect claimed to have the wrong apartment and ran out. There were no signs of forced entry and it does not appear anything was taken.
BURGLARY, 10/28/2007, 2300 block of N. 11th St. Between 2:30 am and 5:05 am on October 28, someone entered an apartment through an open window. A resident of the home was awaken by noises in the living room. She went to investigate and saw a suspect in a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants exit through the front door. Electronic equipment and a purse were taken. The purse was later recovered by a K-9 Unit.
ROBBERY, 10/28/2007, 900 block of N. Taylor St. At approximately 1:44 am on October 28, a 17 year old male was walking down the street when a man approached and asked him for money. The teenager gave the man a quarter but then two other men approached and the suspects went through the victim’s pockets. They took cash and an electronic device, pushed the victim to the ground and then fled.
ARMED ROBBERY, 10/28/2007, Unit block of S. Carlin Springs Road. At approximately 1:55 am on October 28, two armed men wearing masks entered a convenience store, announced a robbery, and forced three customers to leave. One of the suspects vaulted the counter, struck the clerk with a gun, and forced him to open the register. The suspects then fled on foot.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 10/26/2007, 2300 block of S. Eads St. At approximately 3:27 am on October 26, a 37 year old man was attacked after an argument inside a restaurant. The victim suffered several injuries to the head and was treated at a local hospital. The suspect fled in a vehicle.

BURGLARY, 10/25/2007, 900 block of S. Buchanan Street. Between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm on October 25, someone pried open the door to a residence and took a large amount of jewelry, cash and electronics.
BURGLARY, 10/24/2007, 1200 block S. Clark St. Around 6:30 pm on October 24, an office employee found a man in the office area who did not work there. It is believed that the man forced entry into the office through a door. The man fled when confronted. The suspect is described as a black male, in his 20’s, with brown eyes and black hair wearing a black hat, black shirt and black pants. Nothing appears to have been taken.
FELONY HIT & RUN, 10/24/2007, 4100 block Fairfax Dr. On October 24 around 8:30 pm, a Chevy Malibu was westbound on Fairfax Drive in the left lane when it was cut off by a grey sedan. The Chevy was forced to swerve into the left turn lane and wound up striking the median. The sedan, driven by a man, fled the scene. There was significant damage to the Chevy and the driver sustained minor injuries.
ATTEMPTED GRAND LARCENY AUTO, 10/24/2007, 1300 block S. Scott St. On October 24 around 1:32 am, officers responded to the area of the 1300 block of S. Scott St for a report of a grand larceny auto in progress. Officers located the vehicle and its occupants. Anthony Clark, 22, of Washington DC, was charged with Attempted Grand Larceny, Possession of Burglarious Tools and Destruction of Property and is being held with no bond. William Johnson, 23, also of Washington DC, was charged with Attempted Grand Larceny, Possession of Burglarious Tools and Vandalism with the Attempt to Damage or Destroy and is being held on a $10,000 secured bond.
BURGLARY, 10/23/2007, 4200 block S. 36 St. Sometime between 6:30 am on October 22 and 6 am on October 23, someone entered a residence through a window. The house was rifled through but nothing appears to have been taken.

SEXUAL ASSAULT/BURGLARY, 10/20/2007, 1300 block of N. Pierce St. At approximately 3:49 am on October 20, a man entered an apartment through an open window and groped a woman as she slept. The victim woke up and screamed, and the suspect ran out of the apartment.
BURGLARY, 10/19/2007, 1200 block of S. Clark St. Between 6:40 pm on October 18 and 6:55 am on October 19, someone broke into a business suite and took several laptop computers and electronic equipment. Most of the items were found later in a suitcase left at the scene.
BURGLARY, 10/19/2007, 2100 block of S. Washington Blvd. Between 9 pm on October 19 and 12:15 pm on October 21, someone threw a fire extinguisher through a window to gain entry into a business suite and took computer equipment.
BURGLARY, 10/19/2007, 3300 block of S. Stafford St. Between 2 pm on October 19 and 6 am on October 20, someone entered a building under construction and took a reel of copper wire.
ROBBERY, 10/19/2007, 4300 block of N. 4TH St. Between 10:40 pm and 10:48 pm on October 19, a 26 year old man was assaulted by a suspect known to him. The suspect struck the victim with a glass bottle and took his bicycle.
ROBBERY, 10/19/2007, 1500 block of N. 16th St. At approximately 6:05 pm on October 19, a 41 year old man was sitting in a park when 3 men approached him. The suspects punched and kicked the victim and stabbed him in the right shoulder before taking his wallet and cell phone. The victim suffered minor injuries. One juvenile suspect was later located in the area and taken into custody and the investigation continues.
GRAND LARCENY, 10/17/2007, 1900 block of N. Lynn St. Between 1 pm on October 15 and 10:30 am on October 17, someone entered a building under construction and took a large amount of copper electrical cable and copper communications wire.
PEEPING TOM, 10/17/2007, 3800 block of S. Columbia Pike At approximately 8:10 pm on October 17, a 30 year old woman saw a man looking into the back door of her apartment. The suspect immediately fled on foot.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 10/16/2007, 2400 block S. Lowell St. On October 16 around 6 pm, a 23-year old man was stabbed during a fight in the street in the 2400 block of S. Lowell St. The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction. The suspect is described as a black male, about 40 years old, between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet 1 inch tall, possibly wearing a black and red hat, a black and red long sleeved shirt, black boots and blue jeans. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY, 10/16/2007, 1500 block N. Rhodes St. Around 2:37 pm on October 16, a subject entered a residence through an open window. The homeowner scared off the intruder. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, with short black hair, wearing an off white t-shirt and blue jeans.
BURGLARY, 10/16/2007, 4900 block S. 25 St. Sometime between 9 am and 3:15 pm on October 16, someone entered a residence by removing a window. Cash, CD’s, DVD’s and clothing were taken.
FELONY HIT & RUN, 10/16/2007, N. Glebe Rd/ Route 50. On October 16 around 7:18 pm, a Toyota van and a Nissan coupe were stopped in the left lane of northbound Glebe Road over Route 50, waiting to turn left onto Route 50 westbound. A Honda sedan was traveling in the left lane behind the Toyota and Nissan. The Honda failed to stop in time and struck the Toyota, pushing it into the Nissan. No injuries were reported but there was significant damage to the vehicles. The driver of the suspect Honda fled the scene on foot. The investigation is ongoing.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY/EXPOSURE, 10/15/2007, 1300 block N. Veitch St. Sometime between 6:45 pm and 11:20 pm on October 15, someone entered a vacant apartment through unknown means and exposed himself to a neighbor through the window. The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male with black hair.
FOUND BODY, 10/15/2007, Arlington Blvd/ N. George Mason Dr. On October 15 around 1:36 pm, police responded for a report of a man who was found deceased in the woods next to the roadway. The victim, a Hispanic male, appears to have been homeless. At this time there does not appear to be any foul play involved. The case is under investigation.
BURGLARY, 10/15/2007, 5000 block S. 7th Rd. Sometime between 4:30 pm on October 14 and 4:30 pm on October 15, someone entered a residence by breaking a window. A circular saw was taken.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 10/15/2007, 4600 block S. Four Mile Run Dr. Sometime between 6:45 am and 9:30 pm on October 15, someone entered a residence possibly by forcing entry through the front door. The resident’s belongings were strewn about, but nothing appears to have been taken.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 10/15/2007, 3100 block N. Taylor St. A vacant house was found with a key broken off in the lock and the door was ajar. There is a lockbox on the door for realtors to use, and the key was missing from this box. Nothing appears to have been taken at this time.
FELONY HIT & RUN, 10/15/2007, S. 395/ S. Glebe Rd. On October 15 around 1:40 pm, a Subaru Forester was southbound on S. 395 on the ramp towards S. Glebe Road when it collided with the rear of a dump truck. The suspect left the scene, driving to S. 24th/S. Glebe Rd before abandoning the vehicle and fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported, but significant damage was sustained to both vehicles. Officers found the suspect a short distance from the scene. Christopher Deslatte, 23, of Texas, was arrested and charged with DUI and Hit and Run and was held on a $3500 secured bond.
FELONY HIT & RUN, 10/15/2007, 700 block S. Carlin Springs Rd. On October 15 around 8:44 pm, a Toyota Camry was stopped on southbound S. Carlin Springs Rd to turn left onto S. 7 Pl. when a Ford Econoline Van struck the Camry from behind. The van fled the scene, traveling south on Carlin Springs Road. The suspect returned to the scene about an hour later. The victim vehicle driver sustained minor injuries, and both vehicles sustained significant damage. Ernesto Hernandez-Lucas, 28, of Springfield, was arrested and charged with Hit and Run as well as Driving with no License and was held on a $7500 secured bond.
GRAFFITI (SERIES), 10/15/2007, 600 & 700 blocks S. Greenbrier St, 100 block S. Aberdeen St, 4700 block Arlington Blvd. Sometime between October 14 and October 15, nine vehicles had graffiti written on their vehicles. The investigation is ongoing.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 10/14/2007, 3900 block of N. 5th St. At approximately 4:07 am on October 14, a woman awoke to the sound of someone trying to pry open a living room window in her apartment. The resident threatened to call police and the suspect walked away.
BURGLARY, 10/14/2007, 1200 block of S. Clark St. Between 5:30 pm on October 11 and 6:15 am on October 12, someone pried open a door to a business suite and took 6 laptop computers.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 10/14/2007, 1600 block of N. 21 St. At approximately 1:45 am on October 14, a 22 year old man was leaving a friend’s apartment building when he was attacked by two men. One of the suspects struck the victim with a metal expandable baton and the other produced a gun and pointed it at the victim. The victim was able to run back to his friend’s apartment and the suspects fled. They are both described as white males, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, between 135 and 160 lbs.
ROBBERY, 10/14/2007, 5100 block of S. Columbia Pike. Between 12:10 am and 12:20 am on October 14, a 24 year old man was walking home when he was robbed at gunpoint by three men. The suspects went through the victim’s pockets, took his wallet and house keys, and then struck him in the face before fleeing on foot. One suspect is described as a black male, 18-20 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 160 lbs. The second was a black male, 18-20 years old, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, 140 lbs., and the third was a black male, 18 to 20 years old, 6 feet tall and about 200 lbs.
ROBBERY, 10/14/2007, 1000 block of S. Columbus St. Between 3:25 am and 3:35 am on October 14, a 26 year old man was walking through a parking lot when he was jumped by 4 or 5 men. He was thrown to the ground and kicked multiple times in the face and stomach. The suspects then went through the victim’s pockets and took his wallet, keys and a cell phone before fleeing on foot. The victim suffered minor injuries.
ROBBERY, 10/14/2007, 2200 block of S. 12th St. At approximately 9 am on October 14, a 46 year old man was approached by three men who struck the victim with their fists and took his cell phone and money from his pocket. The suspects then fled on bicycles. They are described as black males in their late teens, approximately 6 feet tall. The victim suffered cuts and bruises on his face.
ROBBERY, 10/14/2007, 1800 block of S. Columbia Pike. At approximately 8:54 am on October 14, three men on bicycles approached a 32 year old woman waiting at a bus stop and demanded her purse. The victim refused and struggled with one of the suspects over the purse. During the struggle the suspect punched the victim repeatedly. The man took the woman’s purse and a cell phone and all three suspects fled. The victim suffered minor injuries. The suspect who assaulted her is described as a black male, approximately 15 years old, 5 feet five inches tall, 160 lbs. with brown hair and dark eyes. Officers and K-9 units searched the area with negative results.
SEXUAL BATTERY, 10/14/2007, 4100 block of N. Wilson Blvd. At approximately 1045 am on October 14, a woman was walking down the street when a man ran up behind her, groped her, and then ran off. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his early 30’s, 5 feet 3 inches to 5 feet 4 inches tall, 145 lbs., with a pony tail.
BURGLARY, 10/13/2007, 2700 block of N. Greenbrier St. Between 9 pm on October 13 and 9 am on October 14, someone pried open a door to a concession stand in Greenbrier Park and took beverages and snack foods. Some of the items were recovered nearby.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 10/13/2007, 2200 block of N. Clarendon Blvd. Between 5pm on October 12 and 7:30 pm on October 14, someone unsuccessfully tried to pry open the door to an apartment. Nothing was taken.
BURGLARY, 10/13/2007, 4100 block of S. Campbell Avenue. Between 11 pm on October 12 and 5:33 am on October 13, someone entered a store by unknown means and took cash from a safe.
SEXUAL ASSAULT, 10/13/2007, 900 block of S. Colombus St. Between 9:38 am and 9:53 am on October 13, a 46 year old woman was in the laundry room of her apartment building when a man entered the room. He prevented her leaving, repeatedly punched and strangled her, and sexually assaulted her. When the suspect stopped the attack, the victim was able to run out of the room. The suspect was later located by officers in his apartment in the same building. Machot Kuol Mayen, 27, was arrested, charged with rape and held without bond.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 10/11/2007, 1300 block N. Ode St. Sometime between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm on October 11, someone tried to break into a residence. No entry was gained.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 10/11/2007, 3200 block N. Pershing Dr. On October 11 around 3:39 am, a confused intoxicated man broke into the front window of a house, thinking it was his home. He was confronted by the homeowners who did not know him. He realized he was in the wrong house and sat down until police arrived. David Brassfield, 34, of Arlington, was arrested and charged with unlawful entry, destruction of property, and public drunkenness. He was given an unsecured $3000 bond.
GRAND LARCENY, 10/11/2007, 1000 block S. Walter Reed Dr. Sometime between 7 pm on October 10 and 5 am on October 11, someone took a large amount of welding lead, copper tubing, and electrical cord from a construction site.
LARCENY FROM AUTO/DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 10/11/2007, 600 block S. Clark St. On October 11, four vehicles were parked in a lot. Between the hours of 7 pm and 11 pm, the windows on the cars were smashed and the cars were rummaged through. Only one of the cars had anything taken from it, which was an IPOD connector.
BURGLARY, 10/10/2007, 1200 block N. Fort Myer Dr. Sometime between 2:00 am and 6:30 am on October 10, someone broke into a business through a door. A safe and cash were taken.
DUI/UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A VEHICLE, 10/10/2007, 5800 block S. 1 St. On October 10 around 8:12 pm, officers responded to the area for a report of an accident. A Dodge Ram had struck a parked Toyota Camry. The driver of the Dodge was found to be intoxicated. During the investigation, officers discovered that the suspect vehicle had been taken without permission from the suspect’s place of work (auto body repair). Jose Lopez, 23, of Oakton, was arrested and charged with DUI, Refusal, Driving while Suspended, and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. He is being held with no bond.
BURGLARY, 10/9/2007, 4900 block S. Chesterfield Rd. Sometime between 3 pm on October 5 and 8 am on October 9, someone took LCD projectors and other assorted equipment from a building. It is unknown how entry was gained.
SEXUAL BATTERY, 10/9/2007, 3800 block S. Four Mile Run Dr. At approximately 6:21 pm on October 9, a 25 year old woman was assaulted by an employee at a business where she was a patron. Marcelino Martinez, 41, of Arlington, was arrested for Sexual Battery and was released on Personal Recognizance.
FOUND BODY, 10/8/2007, 2400 block N. Kenmore St. At approximately 4:18 pm on October 8, a citizen called police to report he had discovered a decomposed body in the woods in Windy Run Park. Investigators believe the male decedent is most likely an Arlington resident who was reported missing several weeks ago, but the body has not yet been positively identified. Also, while it is still early in the investigation, at this time there is no evidence of foul play.
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, 10/8/2007, 900 block S. George Mason Dr. At approximately 4:18 pm on October 8, two armed men entered a business and attempted to enter the cashier’s office. They left without gaining entry. The suspects are described as black males, possibly in their 20’s, wearing white collared shirts, bandanas covering their faces, baseball caps and sunglasses. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY, 10/8/2007, 900 block S. Monroe St. Sometime between the evening of October 7 and 10 am on October 8, someone entered a residence, possibly by removing a pane of glass from a window. A radiant heat unit was taken.
BURGLARY, 10/8/2007, 800 block S. 23 St. Sometime between 7:15 pm on October 5 and 10:40 am on October 8, someone entered a residence and took a 200-lb fire sprinkler valve. It is not known how entry was gained.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 10/8/2007, 2800 block N. 23 St. On October 8 around 12:45 am, two men attempted to gain entry into a residence by opening an interior garage door. The homeowner and her dogs were home and probably thwarted the break-in attempt. One of the suspects is described as a white or Hispanic male, and the second is described as a black male. They left in a large, white truck towards Fillmore St. The investigation is ongoing.
FELONY HIT & RUN, 10/8/2007, N. Highland St and Wilson Blvd. At approximately 4:01 am on October 8, a Ford Crown Victoria was northbound on N. Highland St. at the intersection of Wilson Blvd, driving through a green light. A Hyundai Elantra was westbound on Wilson Blvd and drove through the red light at N. Highland St, striking the Ford. The Ford sustained extensive damage. The Hyundai fled the scene and was located by officers a short time later. Yaakob Hakohane, 51, of Arlington, was arrested for Felony Hit and Run and was given a $2500 secured bond.
LARCENY, 10/8/2007, 100 block N. Thomas St. Sometime between 4:30 pm on October 5 and 8:00 am on October 8, someone stole copper piping from the laundry room of an apartment building.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 10/7/2007, 1300 block N. Meade St. On October 7 between 12:15 am and 8:50 am, someone slashed the tires of thirteen cars in a residential parking lot.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 10/7/2007, 2500 block S. Hayes St, 2200 block S. Kent St, 800 & 900 blocks S. 26th St. Sometime between 7 pm and 8:11 pm on October 7, someone broke windows on five cars in the area, possibly with a BB gun.
ROBBERY/MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 10/6/2007, 4300 block N. Pershing Dr. At approximately 2:30 am on October 6, a 32 year old man was outside of his home when he was attacked by a group of men. The suspects could only be described as Hispanic as they had their faces covered. The victim had his wallet taken during the attack and sustained non life-threatening injuries. The suspects fled the scene on foot. One suspect, Nelson Majano, 18 of Arlington, was later located and charged with Robbery and Malicious Wounding. He is being held with no bond.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 10/6/2007, 4100 block N. 4th St. At approximately 3:08 am on October 6, a 24 year old man was walking in the area when he was assaulted by several men. He was treated at a local hospital for a non-life threatening head injury. The suspects left the area in a car. The investigation is ongoing.
ATTEMPTED SEXUAL ASSAULT, 10/6/2007, 2500 block S. Walter Reed Dr. On October 6 around 9:49 pm, a man approached a 22 year old woman while she was walking in the area. He pushed her to the ground and tried to get on top of her. The victim resisted and the suspect fled on foot towards Four Mile Run Dr. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with long hair, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a stocky build, wearing blue shorts and a white shirt with writing on the back.
FELONY HIT & RUN, 10/6/2007, 1900 block Jefferson Davis Highway (Rt. 1). On October 6 around 9:45 pm, a Lexus CS was southbound on Route 1 when it rear-ended a Toyota Camry, which in turn rear-ended a Dodge Charger, which rear-ended a Ford Ranger. The Lexus tried to flee but officers found the vehicle a short distance from the scene. There was extensive damage to all vehicles involved, but no injuries were reported. Ramja Saksoong, 25, of Maryland, was arrested for DWI and Hit and Run and held with no bond.
BURGLARY, 10/5/2007, 4200 block Fairfax Dr. Sometime between 11 pm on October 4 and 6:04 am on October 5, someone entered a business and took cash from the safe. It is not known how entry was gained.
FELONY HIT & RUN, 10/5/2007, 5800 block Washington Blvd. At approximately noon pm on October 5, a 37 year old man was crossing Washington Blvd at Lancaster St. A newer model, large, black pickup truck with a loud dual exhaust was westbound on Washington Blvd and made a u-turn, striking the pedestrian. The vehicle fled the scene. The driver is described as a white male with curly hair, 33 to 44 years old, heavy set, wearing a black t-shirt. The pedestrian suffered minor injuries and the investigation is ongoing.
FELONY HIT & RUN, 10/4/2007, 4400 block S. 31 St. At approximately 6:30 pm on October 4, a Hyundai Elantra was southbound in the 4400 block of S. 31 St. when a white Toyota four door crossed the double yellow lines, driving into traffic in order to pass the Hyundai. The Toyota tried to squeeze between the Hyundai and an oncoming bus, but sideswiped the Hyundai causing significant damage. The Toyota left the scene in an unknown direction. The investigation is ongoing.
ABDUCTION WITH INTENT TO DEFILE, 10/3/2007, 1400 block S. Jefferson Davis Highway. At approximately 11:45 pm on October 3, a 32 year old woman was held against her will by a man known to her, assaulting her and threatening to kill her. Mourad Maissi, 30, of Falls Church, was arrested for abduction with intent to defile and was held without bond.
ROBBERY, 10/3/2007, 5300 block Lee Highway. At approximately 1:40 pm on October 3, a man entered the bank and asked a teller for money. He vaulted the counter and took cash from the teller station. The man fled on foot and was apprehended a short time later by police. The money taken from the bank was recovered. Joseph Thomas Wahle, 19, of Arlington, was charged with robbery and held without bond.
BURGLARY, 10/3/2007, 6400 block N. 28 St. Sometime between 7 pm on October 2 and 6:45 am on October 3, someone entered a house and took an assortment of tools from the basement as well as from an unlocked shed.
BURGLARY, 10/3/2007, 6000 block N. 27 St. Sometime between 4:12 am and 9 am on October 3, someone entered a trailer by tampering with the lock. An assortment of tools was taken.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 10/3/2007, 3600 block S. Taylor St., 4100 & 4200 block S. 36 St. Between 8 pm and 11:15 pm on October 3, a series of cars had their windows damaged in the Fairlington area.
INDECENT EXPOSURE, 10/2/2007, 700 block S. Highland St. At approximately 12:15 pm on October 2, a man was seen urinating on a fence outside of the schoolyard of Patrick Henry Elementary School. Gebrecrstos Kahsu, 64, of Arlington, was arrested for indecent exposure and was held on a $1000 secured bond.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 10/1/2007, 2000 block N. Wilson Blvd. Sometime between 6:15 pm on September 28 and 7:45 am on October 1, someone attempted to break into the business’ main doors. The doors were damaged, but no entry was gained.
