FELONY HIT AND RUN, 9/30/2007, Intersection of N. Edison St. and N. 22nd St. At approximately 6:16 pm on September 30, a Toyota Corolla was crossing Edison St. when another vehicle ran a stop sign and collided with the Toyota. The driver of the second vehicle briefly got out and spoke to the victim, but then got back in his vehicle and drove off. The striking vehicle is described as a small, white sports car.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 9/30/2007, Various addresses. Between 7 pm and 9:30 pm on September 30, someone used an unknown object to smash windows on at least 14 vehicles on N. 26th St., N. Nottingham St., N. 19th St., N. 31st St., N. Lexington St., and N. Ohio St.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 9/30/2007, 700 block of N. George Mason Drive. At approximately 9 pm on September 30, a 38 year old man was assaulted by two men known to him. The suspects also cut the victim’s right wrist with a broken bottle. Mario Rodriquez, 34, and Carlos Rodriquez, 28, were arrested and charged with malicious wounding.

ARMED ROBBERY, 9/30/2007, 4900 block of S. Columbia Pike. At approximately 1:05 am on September 30, 5 people were standing in a parking lot behind a building when two men approached. One of the suspects drew a gun from his waistband, threatened the victims and demanded money. The suspects took the victims’ wallets and then fled on foot. The first suspect is described as a black male, approximately 27 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall and 170 lbs. The second suspect a black male, approximately 19 years old, 5 feet 3 inches tall, 140 lbs. with short dreadlocks.

EXPOSURE, 9/29/2007, 4700 block of N. 38TH St. Between 12:30 pm and 12:45 pm on September 29, a 15 year old girl was walking down the street when a vehicle drove past her twice. The vehicle then pulled to the curb in front of her and stopped. The driver stepped out and exposed himself to the victim. She stopped walking and the suspect got back in his vehicle and drove off. The suspect is described as a white male in his early 20’s, average height and build, with medium length, dark brown hair. He was operating an older model maroon colored vehicle.

ASSAULT & BATTERY, 9/28/2007, 1700 block of N. George Mason Drive. At approximately 10:47 am on September 28, a 51 year old woman asked another motorist to move his vehicle slightly so she could fit into a parallel parking space. The victim says the man responded by pushing and striking her, cursing at her, and using a racial slur. Jeffrey Parker Pless, 54, of Arlington, was charged with Assault & Battery.

ROBBERY, 9/27/2007, 4700 block S. Chesterfield Rd. At approximately 3:30 pm on September 27, a 16 year old male was walking home from school when he was approached by three men. The men grabbed the victim and demanded his money. The men fled on foot in an unknown direction. They are described as ‘older’ Hispanic men, wearing black and white t-shirts and jeans. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY, 9/27/2007, 1600 block of N. Kent St. Between 5 pm on September 27 and 6:30 am on September 28, someone pried open the door to an office in a business suite and took a laptop computer.

ROBBERY, 9/27/2007, 4600 block of S. Four Mile Run Drive. At approximately 11:00 pm on September 27, a woman was walking to her car in a parking lot when another vehicle pulled up. A man got out of, walked up to the victim and snatched a bag off her shoulder. The suspect then got back in the vehicle and drove off. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a long, grey car, unknown make and model, with dark tinted windows. It is believed a second person was driving the vehicle.

ROBBERY, 9/27/2007, 1100 block S. Hayes St. On September 27 around 7:25 pm, five girls entered a store and were found to be stealing merchandise. When approached by employees, one of the suspects struck one of the employees. The suspects took the merchandise and fled the store in an unknown direction. The suspects are described as black females, 16 to 17 years old. The investigation is ongoing.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 9/27/2007, 4900 block N. 35 Rd. Sometime between 4:00 pm on September 26 and 6:30 am on September 27, someone damaged an exterior door to a residence. No entry was gained.

LARCENY, 9/26/2007, 3000 block Clarendon Blvd. On September 26 around 9:45 pm, two men were seen carrying copper wire from a construction site. The first suspect is described as possibly a Hispanic male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 150 pounds, 25 to 30 years old, wearing a khaki hat, red jersey and light colored pants. The second subject is described as possibly a Hispanic male, wearing a white shirt, 25 to 30 years old.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 9/26/2007, 1500 block S. George Mason Dr. On September 26 around 4:30 pm, a 38 year old man was with an acquaintance by Four Mile Run Creek. The two got into a dispute and the suspect cut the victim with a knife. The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction. The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries at a local hospital. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 50-55 years old, 5 feet 5 inches tall, 160-170 pounds, with black hair, wearing a yellow striped t-shirt. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY, 9/26/2007, 4900 block S. 23 St. Sometime between 7:30 am and 5:45 pm on September 26, someone entered a residence by unknown means. An assortment of electronics, jewelry and firearms were taken.

FELONY HIT AND RUN, 9/26/2007, Route 50/Glebe Road. On September 26 around 7:30 am, a Ford Aspire and a Chevy Tahoe were eastbound on Route 50 under Glebe Road. The Tahoe merged from the right lane into the left lane, striking the Ford before fleeing the scene. There were no injuries reported, but there was significant damage to the Ford. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY, 9/25/2007, 1600 block N. Kent St. Sometime between 7:00 pm on September 24 and 7:45 am on September 25, someone entered a business by unknown means. Two laptop computers and a dvd writer were taken.

BURGLARY, 9/25/2007, 1600 block N. Kent St. Sometime between 7:00 pm on September 24 and 7:45 am on September 25, someone entered a business by unknown means. Four laptop computers were taken.

ATTEMPTED MALICIOUS WOUNDING/CONCEALED WEAPON, 9/25/2007, 6100 block Wilson Blvd. On September 25 around 4:45 pm, a 17 year old male was inside his residence when the suspect knocked on the door. The two were engaged in a verbal dispute outside the residence when the suspect struck the victim with a baseball bat and a fight ensued. The victim sustained non life-threatening injuries to his head. Once the fight ended, the suspect fled on foot on Wilson Blvd. Tam Nguyen, 22, of Oak Hill, was later arrested for attempted malicious wounding and possession of a concealed weapon and is being held with no bond.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 9/25/2007, 6700 block N. 27th St. Between the hours of 7:00 am and 6:00 pm on September 24, someone tampered with and damaged a door at a residence. No entry appears to have been gained.

BURGLARY, 9/24/2007, 2400 block N. Underwood St. Between the hours of 12:15 pm and 3:45 pm on September 24, someone entered a house, possibly by forcing open a window, and took an assortment of jewelry.

BURGLARY, 9/24/2007, 1100 block N. Fairfax Dr. Between the hours of 3:00 pm on September 21 and 8:00 am on September 24, someone entered several locked storage sheds and took rolls of copper wire.

BURGLARY, 9/24/2007, 800 block N. Jefferson St. Between the hours of 3:00 pm on September 22 and 1:00 pm on September 24, someone entered a residence, possibly through the front door. Nothing appears to have been taken.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 9/22/2007, 1400 block of S. Joyce St. Between 5:45 am and 6:30 am on September 22, someone attempted to pry open the door to an apartment. It does not appear that entry was made into the residence.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, 9/22/2007, 2600 block of S. Arlington Mill Drive. Between 7:59 am and 8:20 am on September 22, a 35 year old man was walking westbound when two men approached him in a vehicle. One of the suspects got out and tried to take the victim’s black shoulder bag. During a struggle the victim was struck in the face and fell to the ground. The suspects then fled without taking anything from the victim.

BURGLARY, 9/21/2007, 1600 block of S. Hayes St. Between 8 am and 5:30 pm on September 21, someone pried open a door to gain access to a home and took laptop computers, electronic devices and jewelry.

BURGLARY, 9/21/2007, 800 block of S. 23RD St. Between 7:30 am and 6:23 pm on September 21, someone entered a residence through a window and rummaged through the home. It does not appear anything was taken.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, 9/21/2007, 4000 block of N. 5th St. At approximately 9:05 pm on September 21, a man was walking home when he noticed two males following him. When the victim reached his building, one of the suspects ran towards him, sprayed pepper spray in his eyes and demanded money. The victim screamed for help and the suspects fled.

BURGLARY, 9/19/2007, 1000 block N. Glebe Rd. Sometime between 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm, a subject entered a business and took a wallet. Later that afternoon, the victim’s credit card companies contacted him to report suspicious usage on his cards. The suspect seen using the cards is described as a black male in his late 40’s, approximately 6 feet tall, slim build, wearing a tan hat, light blue t-shirt and dark blue jeans.

FELONY HIT AND RUN, 9/19/2007, S. Glebe Rd/S. Walter Reed Dr. At approximately 9:00 pm on 09/19/07, a Lexus IS250 was stopped for traffic southbound on S. Glebe Road at S. Walter Reed Dr. The suspect vehicle struck the Lexus in the rear and fled the scene south on Glebe Road. The suspect vehicle is described as possibly being a 2001 Honda Civic, silver in color. The investigation is ongoing.

ABDUCTION, 9/18/2007, 3100 block Clarendon Blvd. On September 18 around 10:30 am, a 36 year old woman was held in her office against her will by a coworker. She was able to get free when another coworker came to her aid. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY, 9/16/2007, 3200 block of S. Columbia Pike. Between 8:30 pm on September 16 and 8 am on September 17, someone broke into an office suite. It does not appear that anything was taken.

BURGLARY, 9/16/2007, 1700 block of N. 21st Road. Between 4:15 pm and 9:30 pm on September 16, someone entered a residence and took a cell phone and cash.

ARMED ROBBERY, 9/16/2007, 800 block of S. Greenbrier St. At approximately 11:18 pm on September 16, a 25 year old man was outside his apartment building when four men surrounded him. They displayed weapons, physically assaulted the victim and took his wallet before fleeing. The victim suffered minor injuries.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 9/15/2007, 3400 block of N. Washington Blvd. Between 12 pm and 2 pm on September 15, someone entered a restaurant and unsuccessfully tried to gain access to a locked office.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 9/15/2007, 1200 block of S. Eads St. Between 12 pm and 1:30 pm on September 15, someone attempted to force their way into an apartment. Nothing was taken.

BURGLARY, 9/15/2007, 3800 block of S. Columbia Pike. Between 10 am on September 14 and 2:30 am on September 15, someone pried open a window to gain entry to an apartment and took cash.

BURGLARY, 9/15/2007, 1300 block of S. Taylor St. At approximately 3 am on September 15, a woman heard someone tampering with the back door of her residence. In the morning the resident discovered the screen door had been damaged, but no entry was made.

FELONY HIT AND RUN, 9/15/2007, 4200 block of S. Four Mile Run Drive. Between 2:22 pm and 2:26 pm on September 15, a silver Toyota Corolla, traveling eastbound on Four Mile Run Drive, failed to yield the right of way and turned left in the path of a Honda Accord. The two vehicles collided. The driver of the Toyota then fled on foot. On September 17 he contacted police and turned himself in. Byron Mauricio Pineda, 22, of Arlington, was charged with Felony Hit & Run and Driving While Revoked.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERY (SERIES), 9/15/2007, Various addresses. Between 9 pm on September 14 and 8 am on September 15, someone smashed windows and mirrors on at least 15 parked vehicles on N. Utah St., N. 14th St., N. 15th St., and N. Lincoln St.

ROBBERY, 9/15/2007, 5300 block of S. 8th Rd. At approximately 2:50 pm on September 15, a 46 year old man was walking home from a bus stop when two men approached from behind and pinned him up against the door to his apartment building. One of the suspects reached into the victim’s pocket and took his wallet. Both suspects then fled on foot. They are both described as thinly built black males, 16 to 18 years old, and 5 ft. 6 inches to 5 ft. 8 inches tall. Police officers and a K-9 Unit searched the area with negative results.

PEEPING TOM, 9/14/2007, 4300 block of N. 2ND Rd. At approximately 9:37 pm on September 14, a woman saw a man peering into the bathroom window of her residence. She screamed and the suspect fled. He is described as white male in his early 20’s, with dark brown hair.

FELONY HIT AND RUN, 9/14/2007, 23rd St. and S. Eads St. At approximately 6:57 pm on September 14, a yellow 4-door Ford sedan, traveling westbound on S. 23rd Street, ran a red light and collided with minivan. The driver of the car did not stop. This incident is still under investigation.

SEXUAL ASSAULT, 9/14/2007, 3100 block of Clarendon Blvd. At approximately 1 am on September 14, police officers responded to a bar for a report of a sexual assault. The victim was found unconscious in a basement storage room. The suspect was also on scene. 27 year old Jason Bourcier of Reston was arrested and charged with forcible sodomy.

ROBBERY, 9/14/2007, 4300 block of Henderson Rd. At approximately 11:43 pm on September 14, 3 men were drinking in the lobby of an apartment building when a group of five other men approached and demanded their beer. The victims refused and were physically assaulted by the 5 suspects. The suspects then took the beer. Police officers responded but the suspects fled on foot and were not apprehended.

BURGLARY, 9/13/2007, 2500 block S. Walter Reed Dr. Between 0700 hrs and 1800 hrs on 09/13/07, someone entered a residence by cutting a screen on an open window. An assorted of jewelry, an Ipod and a laptop computer were taken.

BURGLARY, 9/13/2007, 2400 block S. Walter Reed Dr. Between 0800 hrs and 2030 hrs on 09/13/07, someone entered a residence by cutting a screen on an open window. An Ipod, loose change, a box of checks and jewelry were taken.

BURGLARY, 9/13/2007, 4300 block N. Carlin Springs Rd. Between 0830 hrs and 1300 hrs on 09/13/07, someone entered a residence by unknown means and took a change purse.

COMMERICAL BURGLARY, 9/13/2007, 2100 block S. Washington Blvd. Between 1830 hrs on 09/12/07 and 0530 hrs on 09/13/07, someone entered a business by forcing open a door. Nothing appears to have been taken.

COMMERICAL BURGLARY, 9/13/2007, 2100 block S. Washington Blvd. Between 1800 hrs on 09/12/07 and 0605 hrs on 09/13/07, someone entered a business through a broken window. Four laptop computers were taken, along with an unknown amount of cash.

INDECENT EXPOSURE, 9/12/2007, unit block of S. Glebe Rd. At approximately 1445 hrs on 09/12/07, the female victim was driving northbound on S. Glebe Rd. approaching Arlington Blvd. When she stopped for traffic a man pulled his vehicle up next to hers and exposed himself. The victim was able to observe the tag number on the suspect’s vehicle and the investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY, 9/11/2007, 4600 block of S. King St. Between 0015 hrs and 0800 hrs on 09/11/07, someone entered a business by unknown means and took cash.

ROBBERY BY FORCE, 9/11/2007, 1200 block of N. Scott St. At approximately 1420 hrs on 09/11/07, a woman returned home and found a man known to her in her apartment. The man physically assaulted the victim and caused extensive damage to her apartment and possessions, and then fled in a car belonging to a relative of the victim. Arrest warrants were obtained for Robbery by Force, Felony Destruction of Property, and Grand Larceny Auto.

BURGLARY, 9/11/2007, 5700 block of S. 5th St. At approximately 0628 hrs on 09/11/07, the resident of a house woke up and saw a stranger walking through the house. The resident called 911 but the intruder was gone before officers arrived. The suspect apparently entered the home through an unsecured door. It does not appear that anything was taken. The suspect is described as a black male with long hair, wearing a black shirt and black cap.

BURGLARY, 9/10/2007, 3600 block of N. 21st Ave. Between 1530 hrs on 09/08/07 and 0730 hrs on 09/10/07, someone entered a house under renovation by smashing a window pane out of the rear door and took power tools.

ATTEMPTED ARMED ROBBERY, 9/10/2007, 800 block S. Greenbrier St. At approximately 0025 hrs on 09/10/07, the male victim answered a knock at his apartment door. When he opened the door, the victim was physically assaulted by a male acquaintance. While the two men struggled, the suspect displayed a knife and demanded the victim’s money. The suspect eventually gave up and fled on foot without receiving any money. The victim suffered only minor facial injuries. The suspect is described as a 21-year-old white Hispanic male, 5 ft. 3 in. tall, 120 lbs, with long black hair, last seen wearing a white t-shirt, black jeans, and black shoes.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 9/9/2007, 4200 block of N. 2nd Rd. At approximately 1150 hrs on 09/09/07, a man got into an argument with a woman known to him. When the man tried to leave the apartment, the woman brandished a knife then stabbed the man once in the upper body. The victim was treated by medics at the scene for his injury. Leasha Childs, 25, of Arlington, was arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding. After being treated at a local hospital for a laceration to the hand, Childs was taken to the Arlington County Detention Facility and held without bond.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 9/9/2007, 4300 block of N. Henderson Rd. At approximately 1620 hrs on 09/09/07, a woman walking down the street was attacked by a man known to her who was wielding a sharp instrument. The victim fled and was later transported to a local hospital with severe lacerations to the upper body. Officers located the suspect at Ballston Commons Mall and took him into custody without incident. The suspect was suffering from apparently self-inflicted lacerations to the upper body when he was found and he was also transported to a local hospital for treatment. A warrant is on file charging 33-year-old German Vidal Mercado-Pineda, of Arlington, with Malicious Wounding and will be served upon his release from the hospital.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 9/9/2007, various South Arlington addresses. At approximately 0530 hrs on 09/09/07, a witness saw a man slashing tires on parked vehicles in the 900 block of S. Arlington Mill Dr. Officers later located the suspect in the area. An investigation revealed that the suspect had slashed tires on a total of 18 vehicles located in the 800 and 900 blocks of S. Arlington Mill Dr., the 1000 block of S. Frederick St., and the 4700 block of Columbia Pike. Remy F. Dillenseger, 57, of Arlington, was initially charged with two counts of Destruction of Property and held without bond.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 9/8/2007, 5000 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 1705 hrs on 09/08/07, two men in a restaurant got into an argument. One of the men punched the other, knocking him to the floor, and then kicked him in the head. The suspect fled on foot. The victim was transported to a local hospital with head injuries. The suspect is described as a white Hispanic male, 25 to 30 years old, 5 ft. 5 in. to 5 ft. 7 in. tall, 200 lbs, with black hair, brown eyes, and multiple tattoos, last seen wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.

PEEPING TOM, 9/8/2007, 3800 block of N. 7th St. At approximately 2100 hrs on 09/08/07, a woman in an apartment saw a man standing on her patio watching her through the glass sliding door. When he was seen, the suspect left on foot. The suspect is described as a black male in his late 20s, 5 ft. 8 in. to 5 ft. 10 in. tall, 180 to 200 lbs, with short black hair, a goatee, and brown eyes, last seen wearing a white t-shirt and jeans.

SEXUAL BATTERY, 9/6/2007, Henderson Road/N. Thomas St. On 09/06/07 at about 1710 hrs, a 17 year old female was standing on the street at the intersection of N. Thomas St. and N. Henderson Rd. when a man approached her and grabbed her in a sexual manner. The suspect fled the scene on foot, and was located by the victim a short time later by the Glebe Market. Arturo Castro, 28, of Arlington, was charged with sexual assault and battery and was held on a $3500 secured bond.

FELONY HIT AND RUN, 9/6/2007, 600 Block N. Glebe Road. On 09/06/07 at about 1955 hrs, a Nissan Maxima, a Mazda 626 and a Mercury Grand Marquis were northbound in the 600 block of N. Glebe Road. The vehicles were stopped at a red light in the left lane. A second Mercury Grand Marquis was northbound in the same lane. It struck the rear of the Nissan, causing a chain reaction accident, wherein the Nissan struck the other two stopped vehicles. The driver of the suspect Mercury fled on foot northbound on Glebe road. Two drivers of the victim vehicles sustained minor injuries.

BURGLARY, 9/5/2007, 3700 block of S. 17th St. At approximately 2155 hrs on 09/05/07, a resident in a house heard noises at the front door and went to investigate. The resident found the front door open and damaged and saw a man leaving the scene. There is no description of the suspect.

PEEPING TOM, 9/5/2007, 1200 block of N. Nash St. At approximately 2120 hrs on 09/05/07, an apartment resident heard a noise outside a bedroom window and saw a man looking in the window. After being seen, the man fled on foot. The suspect is described as a white Hispanic male, 25 to 30 years old, with short black hair, last seen wearing a t-shirt, grey shorts, and white tennis shoes and carrying a backpack.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 9/5/2007, various North Arlington addresses. Sometime during the evening hours of 09/04/07 and the morning hours of 09/05/07, at least 10 parked vehicles were broken into and rummaged through. Cash, credit cards, and various personal items were taken from the vehicles. At approximately 0645 hrs on 09/05/07, officers located a suspect in the area who was in possession of the stolen items. Jarrod Hamilton Boatwright, 26, of no fixed address, was charged with multiple counts each of Credit Card Theft, Destruction of Property, and Petit Larceny and was held without bond. The victimized vehicles were located in the 3600 block of N. Harrison St., the 5900 block of N. 19th St., the 6000 block of N. 22nd Rd. and the 5100 block of N. 38th St.

BURGLARY, 9/4/2007, 2100 block Washington Blvd. Sometime between 1500 hrs on 08/24/07 and 0700 hrs on 09/04/07, someone entered a business suite by unknown means and took cameras, a computer projector, and other assorted items.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 9/4/2007, 1800 block Fort Myer Dr. Sometime between 1700 hrs on 08/31/07 and 0900 hrs on 09/04/07, someone entered a business suite by unknown means. It does not appear that anything was taken.

FELONY HIT AND RUN, 9/4/2007, S. George Mason Dr/ S. 8th St. On 09/04/07 around 1400 hrs, a 19 year old woman was struck by a vehicle as she crossed S. George Mason Drive in the crosswalk. The vehicle fled the scene in an unknown direction. There is no information on the suspect vehicle. The victim sustained minor injuries.

ARMED ROBBERY, 9/3/2007, 4200 block of Columbia Pike. On 09/03/07 at about 0635 hrs, a man displayed a handgun inside of a business. The clerk gave the man money from the register, and the man fled in an unknown direction. The suspect is described as a black male with a chubby round face, possibly of partial Asian descent, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, 240 pounds, wearing a black jacket or sweatshirt with a hood and blue jeans.

BURGLARY, 9/2/2007, 1900 block of Columbia Pike. Sometime between 1300 hrs on 08/26/07 and 1130 hrs on 09/02/07, someone entered an apartment, possibly through a locked sliding glass door on a balcony. A television, camera, and other assorted items were taken.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 9/1/2007, 1200 block of N. Illinois St. Sometime in the early morning hours of 09/01/07, two 18-year olds were injured during a fight at a party. One of the men was cut on his hand with a knife, and both men had bruises. The suspects are possibly known by the victims and the investigation is ongoing.

ROBBERY, 8/31/2007, 1200 block of S. Hayes St. On 08/31/07 at about 1845 hrs, a man was seen concealing store items in a bag. When he was confronted, the man assaulted two employees then fled the scene in an unknown direction. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, 240 to 250 pounds, 30 to 40 years old, with short or no hair, wearing a white t-shirt inside out and baggy blue jeans.

SEXUAL ASSAULT, 8/30/2007, 5100 block S. 7th Road. At approximately 2000 hrs on 08/30/07, a 40-year old woman was walking her dogs on the bike path. A man approached her, grabbed her hand and pulled it towards him. The man was exposing himself at the time of the incident. The suspect left the area on foot, walking south on the bike path. He is described as an 18-23 year old Hispanic male, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, 120 to 130 pounds, with neatly cut hair. He was wearing a black tank top and dark colored shorts.

ABDUCTION, 8/30/2007, 1200 block N. Herndon St. Sometime in the early morning hours on 08/30/07, a 24-year old woman was entering her apartment building when she was grabbed from behind by a man. The man let her go after a short time and she was able to run away. The victim could only describe the suspect as male, ‘older’ and possibly taller than 5 feet 8 inches.

FELONY HIT AND RUN, 8/29/2007, N. Glebe Rd./N. Henderson Rd. At approximately 1743 hrs on 08/29/07, a Lincoln Continental made a right turn on red from eastbound N. Henderson Rd. onto southbound N. Glebe Rd. The Continental struck a Honda Accord which was traveling southbound on N. Glebe Rd. The driver of the Accord was injured and the Continental immediately fled the scene. Officers located the Continental and stopped it on the ramp from westbound Arlington Blvd to N. George Mason Dr. Petitions are pending for the 17-year-old male suspect, who was released into the custody of his parents.

BURGLARY, 8/29/2007, 5200 block of S. 7th Rd. Between 1400 hrs on 08/19/07 and 1715 hrs on 08/29/07, someone entered a vacant house by breaking a window. It does not appear that anything was taken.

ROBBERY BY FORCE, 8/28/2007, 1400 block S. Thomas St. A 19 year old woman was walking on S. Thomas St. around 2200 hrs on 08/28/07. She was grabbed from behind and pushed to the ground. The suspect grabbed her purse and fled on foot towards George Mason Dr. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male wearing a grey t-shirt and dark colored shorts.

BURGLARY, 8/28/2007, 1500 block S. George Mason Dr. Between 0700 hrs and 2330 hrs on 08/28/07, someone broke a home, possibly through the front door. Nothing appears to have been taken, but the house was ransacked.

LARCENY FROM CONSTRUCTION SITE, 8/27/2007, 1300 block S. Monroe St. Between the evening of 08/24/07 and the morning of 08/27/07, someone stole a large amount of lumber from a construction site.

BURGLARY, 8/27/2007, 5000 block of S. 7th Rd. Between 0930 hrs and 1600 hrs on 08/27/07, someone pried open a lock on a door to the residence and took an assortment of jewelry.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 8/27/2007, 2800 block of S. 24th Rd. At approximately 0105 hrs on 08/27/07, a witness observed a man smashing a car window with a stick. The subject was located a few blocks away. Officers discovered that a total of six vehicles in the area had been vandalized. Santiago N. Argueta-Escobar, 26, of Alexandria, was charged with Destruction of Property and Drunk in Public and received a $1,000 unsecured bond.

BURGLARY, 8/27/2007, 200 block of S. 18th St. Between 1630 hrs on 08/25/07 and 0943 hrs on 08/27/07, someone entered a secured kiosk and tampered with a cabinet. It does not appear that anything was taken.

FELONY HIT AND RUN, 8/26/2007, S. Four Mile Run Dr./S. Walter Reed Dr. At approximately 2125 hrs on 08/26/07, a Toyota Corolla was eastbound on S. Four Mile Run Dr. passing through the intersection with S. Walter Reed Dr. A Ford Taurus northbound on S. Walter Reed Dr. ran the red light and collided with the Corolla. The Ford Taurus immediately fled the scene. The driver and a passenger in the Corolla were both transported to a local hospital with unspecified injuries. Officers located the Taurus abandoned near the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY, 8/26/2007, 3600 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 0149 hrs on 08/26/07, someone entered a building and smashed the glass door of a business. It does not appear that anything was taken.

FELONY HIT AND RUN, 8/25/2007, 3200 block of Arlington Blvd. At approximately 1752 hrs on 08/25/07, a Honda Civic traveling eastbound on Arlington Blvd rear-ended a Nissan Murano which was stopped for the red light at S. Irving St. The Murano was pushed forward into two more stopped vehicles: a Lexus LX470 and a Toyota 4-Runner. The driver of the Civic fled the scene on foot. No injuries were reported but there was extensive damage to the vehicles involved. The investigation is ongoing.

ARMED ROBBERY, 8/24/2007, 4200 block of Wilson Blvd. At approximately 1908 hrs on 08/24/07, a man entered a restaurant, displayed a handgun, and demanded money from the employees. The employees complied and the suspect left. The suspect is described as a black male, 20 to 30 years old, 5 ft. 11 in. to 6 ft. tall, 190 to 200 lbs, with shoulder-length black hair and brown eyes, last seen wearing a black button-down shirt and black pants.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 8/24/2007, 2400 block of S. Kenmore St. At approximately 0430 hrs on 08/24/07, a woman heard a louse noise in her house and found that her window-unit air conditioner had been pushed partway into her living room. She looked outside and saw a man known to her get into a vehicle and drive away. The woman also found that property in front of her home had been damaged. Warrants for Attempted Burglary and misdemeanor Destruction of Property are on file for Mark A. Stephens, 44, of Temple Hills, Maryland.

ABDUCTION, 8/23/2007, 300 block of S. 23rd St. At approximately 2236 hrs on 08/23/07, officers responded for a report of a domestic incident. The female victim told officers that a man known to her had held her against her will in an apartment for several hours. The suspect was later located in the apartment building. He was found to be in possession of a handgun and was arrested. Carl Lee Spicocchi, 54, of Arlington, was charged with Abduction, Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, and Assault and Battery and was held without bond.

BURGLARY, 8/23/2007, 5100 block of Little Falls Rd. Between 1845 hrs on 08/22/07 and 0155 hrs on 08/23/07, someone kicked in the locked door of a pool house at a private facility. It does not appear that anything was taken.

BURGLARY, 8/23/2007, 1600 block of N. Abingdon St. Between 2000 hrs on 08/22/07 and 0630 hrs on 08/23/07, someone broke a screen on a porch and took two bicycles.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING/FELONY ASSAULT ON FAMILY MEMBER, 8/22/2007, 2900 block of S. 23rd St. At approximately 1536 hrs on 08/22/07, two male relatives got into a fight inside of a house. The 22-year old male victim was thrown by the suspect into a fish tank, which shattered, and then the victim was attacked by the suspect. A 24-year old female relative of the suspect was also assaulted, sustaining minor injuries, when she tried to stop the fight. The male victim checked himself into the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect was located at the scene and arrested. Lavondie Pettus, 26, of Arlington, was charged with Malicious Wounding and Felony Assault on a Family Member and held without bond.

INDECENT EXPOSURE, 8/22/2007, 900 block of N. Stuart St. At approximately 1730 hrs on 08/22/07, a man exposed himself to a woman while she was waiting at a bus stop. Simon Marcelino-Jiminez, 40, of Arlington, was located. He was charged with two counts of Indecent Exposure and held on a $2500 secured bond.

BURGLARY, 8/22/2007, 1100 block of S. Hayes St. Between 1900 hrs on 08/21/07 and 0830 hrs on 08/22/07, someone cut the lock to a storage room and took merchandise.

BURGLARY, 8/22/2007, 1100 block of S. Hayes St. A storage room door was found open while investigating another burglary at the same location. No lock was on the cable used to secure the door. It is unknown if anything is missing.

LARCENY FROM CONSTRUCTION SITE, 8/20/2007, 3500 block Wilson Blvd. Between 08/17/07 and 08/20/07, someone stole several copper downspouts from the rear of the Maury School building.

BURGLARY, 8/20/2007, 900 block of N. Glebe Rd. Between 2100 hrs on 08/16/07 and 1330 hrs on 08/20/07, someone broke into a business suite and took a laptop computer.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 8/20/2007, 3900 block of N. 5th St. At approximately 0043 hrs on 08/20/07, two men outside of an apartment building got into an argument. One man produced a knife and stabbed the other man in the abdomen. The 43-year-old victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries but is expected to survive. The suspect was located near the scene and arrested. Unurchuluun Tseveljav, 36, of Arlington, was charged with Aggravated Malicious Wounding and held without bond.

FELONY HIT AND RUN, 8/20/2007, 4400 block of S. Four Mile Run Dr. At approximately 2210 hrs on 08/20/07, a grey pickup truck was southbound on S. George Mason Dr. passing through the intersection at S. Four Mile Run Dr. At the same time, a 19-year-old female bicyclist was crossing S. George Mason Dr. on the south side of the intersection. The pickup truck struck the bicyclist and immediately fled the scene. The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital with an injury to the arm.

BURGLARY, 8/20/2007, 1600 block of N. Fort Myer Dr. Between 1700 hrs on 08/17/07 and 0530 hrs on 08/20/07, someone entered a business suite by unknown means and took several laptop computers.

BURGLARY, 8/20/2007, 1100 block of S. Hayes St. Between 1730 hrs on 08/19/07 and 1530 hrs on 08/20/07, someone broke into the storage room of a business and took a large amount of clothing.

ATTEMPTED ARMED ROBBERY/MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 8/19/2007, 200 block N. Glebe Rd. At approximately 1947 hrs on 08/19/07, the male victim was outside of a store and was approached by a man known to him who asked him for money. When the victim refused to comply, the suspect produced a knife, stabbed the victim, and fled on foot. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect is described as a white Hispanic male, 45 years old, 6 ft. 1 in. tall, 180 lbs, with black hair and green eyes, last seen wearing a long-sleeve yellow shirt, and green pants.

DUI / MANSLAUGHTER, 8/18/2007, 1900 block of S. Walter Reed Dr. At approximately 1715 hrs on 08/18/07, a Hyundai traveling southbound on S. Walter Reed Dr. crossed over the grass median strip and struck a motorcycle that was heading in the opposite direction. The driver of the motorcycle, 31-year-old Jerry Damon Taybron of Woodbridge, was taken to George Washington University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 1815 hrs. The driver of the Hyundai was placed under arrest. James Turner Kendall, Jr., 63, of Arlington, was charged with Aggravated Involuntary Manslaughter and Driving Under the Influence and held without bond.

PEEPING TOM, 8/18/2007, 1000 block N. Randolph St. At approximately 2248 hrs on 08/18/07, a man was seen lying in the bushes outside of a first floor apartment, looking into the window. The suspect fled the area before he could be apprehended by police. Suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, approximately 30 years old, with long hair possibly pulled back into a ponytail, wearing blue jeans and no shirt.

BURGLARY, 8/18/2007, 2000 block N. Clarendon Blvd. Between 0430 hrs and 0845 hrs on 08/18/07, someone entered a business by breaking a rear window. It does not appear that anything was taken.

ATTEMPT BURGLARY, 8/18/2007, 600 block S. 21st St. Sometime between 1130 hrs and 1600 hrs on 08/18/07, someone damaged the side door of a house in an apparent burglary attempt.

ARMED ROBBERY, 8/17/2007, 2300 block S. Fern St. At approximately 2300 hrs on 08/17/07, two women were walking from their car in the area of S. 23rd St. and S. Fern St. They encountered a man who pointed a gun at them and took their purses. The suspect is described as a black male, mid 20’s, wearing a ‘do rag’ and black sleeveless t-shirt with yellow and red print on the back and dark pants. The suspect fled in a 90’s model black Cadillac four door sedan.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 8/16/2007, 1600 block N. Kent St. Between 1600 hrs on 08/15/07 and 0645 hrs on 08/16/07, someone entered a business suite and attempted to pry open a safe. It does not appear that anything was taken.

BURGLARY, 8/16/2007, 6000 block N. Lee Highway. Between 2200 hrs on 08/15/07 and 0930 hrs on 08/16/07, someone entered a community center through a window and took a cash register.

FELONY HIT AND RUN, 8/16/2007, I-66 Eastbound. At approximately 2250 hrs on 08/16/07, a flat bed tow truck rear ended a Honda CRV on eastbound I-66 just prior to N. Glebe Rd. As a result of the collision, the driver of the Honda lost control of his vehicle which spun around and struck a retaining wall. The tow truck did not stop and fled the scene. A witness followed the truck and reported the tag number to police. An officer later located the vehicle and arrested the driver, Lewis James Hall, 37, of Owings, Maryland. He was charged with felony hit and run and driving under the influence, and he was held on $10,000 bond.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 8/15/2007, 1100 block of S. Hayes St. Between 1200 hrs on 08/14/07 and 1143 hrs on 08/15/07, someone damaged the lock on a door into a business’ storage area in an apparent burglary attempt.

BURGLARY, 8/14/2007, 1100 block of S. Hayes St. Between 1400 hrs on 08/12/07 and 1600 hrs on 08/14/07, someone broke into the storage area for a business and took various items including a large amount of skin cream.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 8/14/2007, 3800 block of N. Fairfax Drive Between 1910 hrs on 08/13/07 and 0702 hrs on 08/14/07, someone tried to pry open the door to a business suite. On 08/13/07, another suite at the same address was burglarized.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 8/14/2007, 1100 block of S. Hayes St. Between 1800 hrs on 08/13/07 and 0700 hrs on 08/14/07, someone broke into a store’s storage room. It does not appear that anything was taken.

ROBBERY, 8/14/2007, 400 block of N. Thomas St. At approximately 2149 hrs on 08/14/07, A 29 year old man was riding his bicycle when two men approached and knocked him to the ground. While one suspect held the victim down, the other suspect searched his pockets. The suspects took cash from the victim’s wallet and then fled on foot. The victim called police and when officers responded they apprehended one of the suspects in the area. Victor Vazquez-Chavez, 21, of Arlington, was arrested, charged with robbery, and held without bond.

BURGLARY, 8/13/2007, 3800 block of N. Fairfax Dr. Between 1700 hrs and 2100 hrs on 08/13/07, someone entered a business suite by unknown means and took laptop computers and cash.

BURGLARY, 8/13/2007, 2200 block of N. Fairfax Dr. Between 1600 hrs on 08/10/07 and 0700 hrs on 08/13/07, someone entered a construction site and took a large amount of copper pipe.

ROBBERY, 8/11/2007, 600 block of S. 23rd St. At approximately 0138 hrs on 08/11/07, a man and a woman were walking down the street. They were approached by two male suspects who engaged them in conversation. One of the men then produced a handgun and took the woman’s purse. The two suspects left on foot. Suspect #1 is described as a dark-skinned black male, 28 to 30 years old, 6 ft. 2 in. tall, 185 lbs, skinny, with dreadlocks, last seen wearing a blue t-shirt and blue jeans. Suspect #2 is described as a dark-skinned black male, 28 to 30 years old, 5 ft. 10 in. tall, 185 lbs, stocky, with a shaved head, last seen wearing a black t-shirt and black jeans.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 8/11/2007, 2400 block of S. Lowell St. At approximately 0255 hrs on 08/11/07, several people in a house became involved in a physical altercation. A woman grabbed a knife and stabbed one of the men involved several times. The victim was transported to a local hospital with lacerations to the head and back. The injuries are not considered life-threatening. Vanessa Kathleen Young, 52, of Arlington, was charged with Malicious Wounding and held without bond.

ROBBERY, 8/10/2007, 4300 block of N. Pershing Dr. At approximately 2310 hrs on 08/10/07, an officer saw three suspects rob two men and run to a nearby car. A fourth suspect drove the getaway car. The car was stopped in the 6700 block of Arlington Boulevard with the assistance of Fairfax County police officers and the four men were taken into custody. Each of the suspects was charged with Robbery and held without bond. The four men in custody are: John Fofanah, 18, of Alexandria; Alhaj Sheromie Carew, 21, of Alexandria; Tanseh John Nicholas, 21, of Chantilly; and Alusene Kanu, 18, of Alexandria.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY BY FORCE, 8/9/2007, 600 block of N. Glebe Rd. At approximately 1552 hrs on 08/09/07, the male victim was walking down the street. He was approached by a man and a woman who engaged him in conversation. The male suspect then reached into the victim’s pants pocket. The victim pulled away from the suspects and called 911. The two suspects fled in a nearby vehicle which police later located. Suspect #1 is described as a white Hispanic male, 5 ft. 5 in. tall, 200 lbs, with a mustache, last seen wearing a black shirt with horizontal white stripes and blue jeans. Suspect #2 is described as a white Hispanic female in her 50s, 5 ft. 5 in. tall, heavyset, with long hair down to the middle of her back, last seen wearing a tan shirt and tan pants.

FELONY HIT AND RUN, 8/9/2007, S. Glebe Rd. / S. 19th St. At approximately 1707 hrs on 08/09/07, a Toyota 4-Runner was northbound on S. Glebe Rd. approaching S. 19th St. A Honda Civic eastbound on S. 19th St. turned left onto S. Glebe Rd., failing to yield to the 4-Runner. The Civic struck the 4-Runner and immediately fled the scene. Officers located the Civic and arrested the driver. Juan Carlos Condori-Merino, 28, of Arlington, was charged with Felony Hit and Run and Driving without a License and was released on his own recognizance.

BRANDISHING A FIREARM, 8/8/2007, 3400 block of Columbia Pike At approximately 2215 hrs on 08/08/07, the victim was in a car and noticed a man staring at him from another car. The man then displayed what appeared to be a handgun and drove away. The suspect is described as a white Hispanic male in his 20s, with short hair, last seen wearing a white shirt. The vehicle the suspect was driving was a grey Ford 4-door sedan.

BRANDISHING A FIREARM, 8/8/2007, 3200 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 2200 hrs on 08/08/07, the three victims were in a vehicle stopped at a red light. A man sitting in a silver Honda Civic next to the victims pointed a handgun at them. When the victims drove away, the suspect followed them briefly then left the area. The suspect is described as a bald white male, last seen wearing a blue and white striped shirt and a green tie.

BURGLARY, 8/8/2007, 1100 block of S. Hayes St. Between 1145 hrs on 08/07/08 and 0840 hrs on 08/08/07, someone entered the storage room for a business by forcing the door and took clothing.

BURGLARY, 8/8/2007, 1700 block of N. Danville St. Between 0900 hrs and 1115 hrs on 08/08/07, someone entered a house by forcing a rear window and took jewelry and silverware.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 8/7/2007, 2400 block of N. 10th St. At approximately 2352 hrs on 08/07/07, the male victim was attacked by a man known to him. The man bit the victim in the head and fled the scene on foot. The victim was transported to a local hospital with a laceration to the head. The suspect was located in Fairfax County and arrested. Belter Samuel Contreras-Raymundo, 23, of Fairfax, was charged with Malicious Wounding and held without bond.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 8/7/2007, 1800 block of N. Nash St. Between 1400 hrs on 08/05/07 and 0730 hrs on 08/07/07, someone damaged the entry door of a church in an apparent burglary attempt.

BURGLARY, 8/7/2007, 1300 block of S. 24th St. Between 08/02/07 and 1800 hrs on 08/07/07, someone entered a house by smashing window panes out of a rear door. Items in the home were disturbed but it does not appear that anything was taken.

BURGLARY, 8/7/2007, 1500 block of Clarendon Blvd. Between 0130 hrs on 08/06/07 and 0715 hrs on 08/07/07, someone entered an apartment via a rear window and took a laptop computer and an iPod.

ROBBERY BY FORCE, 8/6/2007, 800 block of S. Greenbrier St. Shortly after midnight on 08/06/07, the male victim was walking down the street and was approached by two men. The men kicked and punched the victim, knocking him to the ground. They took the victim’s wallet and shoes and fled on foot. The victim sustained minor injuries to his arm and leg during the assault. Both suspects are described as white Hispanic males in their 20s, 5 ft. 6 in. tall, 170 lbs, with black hair. One suspect was wearing a black short-sleeve shirt and white camouflage pants.

ROBBERY BY FORCE, 8/6/2007, 4200 block of S. 16th St. At approximately 1240 hrs on 08/06/07, the male victim was leaving his apartment when he was attacked by a man. The suspect pushed the victim back into his apartment, grabbed a camera from a desk and fled on foot. The victim chased the suspect and was able to recover his camera. The suspect is described as a dark-skinned black male in his 30s, 5 ft. 6 in. tall, with black hair, last seen wearing a dark baseball cap, a white t-shirt, and dark pants.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 8/6/2007, 4800 block of Columbia Pike At approximately 0145 hrs on 08/06/07, the male victim was sitting in a restaurant and was approached by a man. The man picked up the victim’s beer bottle and hit him on the head with it. The victim suffered a laceration to the head. A witness detained the suspect until police officers arrived. Jose Luis Arteaga-Hernandez, 32, of Arlington, was charged with Malicious Wounding and held without bond.

BURGLARY, 8/6/2007, 2000 block of S. Crystal Dr. Between 1745 hrs on 08/03/07 and 0800 hrs on 08/06/07, someone entered a business suite by prying open a door and took several laptop computers.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 8/6/2007, 1000 block of S. Wayne St. Between 0530 hrs on 08/04/07 and 0938 hrs on 08/06/07, someone attempted to enter the rear window of an apartment by removing the screen and breaking the glass. It does not appear that entry was made or that anything was taken.

ABDUCTION/ARMED ROBBERY, 8/5/2007, 4800 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 0010 hrs on 08/05/07, the male victim was waiting for a taxi when a car pulled up next to him. A man got out of the passenger seat and forced the victim into the vehicle, displaying a handgun. The victim was driven to a nearby location where he was robbed of cash and let out of the vehicle. He was not injured. Both suspects are described as dark-skinned black males, 5 ft. 9 in. tall, 170 lbs, with black hair. One suspect was wearing a black shirt and black jeans and the other was wearing a white polo shirt and black jeans. The vehicle used by the suspects is believed to be a black 4-door Toyota Camry.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 8/5/2007, 2500 block of N. Custis Rd. Between 1030 hrs on 08/04/07 and 0945 hrs on 08/05/07, someone moved a patio chair from the rear of a house to the side. The suspect apparently stood on the chair and unsuccessfully attempted to pry open a window.

BURGLARY, 8/4/2007, 300 block of N. Garfield St. Between 1200 hrs and 1650 hrs on 08/04/07, someone entered a house by forcing a rear door and took a laptop computer and a television.

BURGLARY, 8/3/2007, 5000 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 1105 hrs on 08/03/07, someone entered the open rear door of a business and tried to break into an office, setting off the burglar alarm. The burglar fled before employees got to the office.

BURGLARY, 8/3/2007, 6000 block of N. 9th Rd. Between 0900 hrs and 2000 hrs on 08/03/07, someone entered a house by prying open a rear window and took jewelry and perfume.

PEEPING TOM, 8/3/2007, 1000 block of N. Randolph St. At approximately 0105 hrs on 08/03/07, officers responded for a report of a man peeking into an apartment window. An officer found the man looking into the window with his genitalia exposed and took him into custody. Hodari Jerome Tolson, 33, of no fixed address, was charged with Indecent Exposure and Peeping into an Occupied Dwelling and held without bond.

BURGLARY, 8/3/2007, 200 block of N. Glebe Rd. At approximately 0337 hrs on 08/03/07, a man known to the residents of an apartment entered the apartment by opening the kitchen window, removing the screen, and climbing in the window. People in the apartment saw the man breaking in and were able to push him back outside. Arriving officers saw the suspect fleeing over a fence but were unable to locate him. An arrest warrant is on file for Thaddeus S. Huston, 21, of Falls Church.

FELONY HIT AND RUN, 8/2/2007, S Eads St. / S. 23rd St. At approximately 2331 hrs on 08/02/07, a Saturn SL-2 southbound on S. Eads St. attempted to turn left onto S. 23rd St. The Saturn had a green light but failed to yield to a Yamaha motorcycle which was northbound and passing through the intersection. The motorcyclist was knocked to the ground by the Saturn and suffered unspecified injuries. The Saturn immediately fled the scene but was followed by a witness and eventually stopped by the Alexandria Police. Arlington officers took custody of the suspect and transported him to jail. Purushottam Nepal, 32, of Lorton, was charged with Felony Hit and Run and released on his own recognizance.

BURGLARY, 8/2/2007, 3000 block of S. Randolph St. Between 2330 hrs on 08/01/07 and 0230 hrs on 08/02/07, someone entered an apartment by unknown means and took a television.

FELONY HIT AND RUN, 7/29/2007, S. Glebe Rd. and S. Four Mile Run Drive. At approximately 0410 hrs on 07/29/07, a Chevrolet van traveling southbound on S. Glebe Rd. crashed into the rear of a Jeep Cherokee that was stopped at the intersection. The driver of the Chevy van then fled on foot, leaving his vehicle and pregnant wife behind.

BURGLARY, 7/29/2007, 3900 block of S. Four Mile Run Drive. Between 1600 hrs on 07/29/07 and 0416 hrs on 07/30/07, someone broke into a business and took a computer and cash.

BURGLARY, 7/29/2007, 4000 block of S. Campbell Ave. Between 2230 hrs on 07/28/07 and 1100 hrs on 07/29/07, someone entered a restaurant by unknown means, pried open the cash register and took an undisclosed amount of money.

ROBBERY, 7/29/2007, 2500 block of S. Shirlington Rd. At approximately 0013 hrs on 07/29/07, a 42 year old man was approached by three men in a parking lot. One of the suspects punched the victim repeatedly in the face and kicked him in the head when he fell to the ground. A second suspect then pulled a gold necklace off the victim’s neck. Two of the suspects, Wayne and Dwayne Miles, 42, of Arlington, were apprehended a short time later by officers. The third suspect is still at large.

BURGLARY, 7/28/2007, 800 block of N. Randolph St. Between 1700 hrs and 2300 hrs on 07/28/07, someone entered an apartment and took several items including jewelry and cash.

BURGLARY, 7/27/2007, 1000 block of N. Glebe Rd. Between 1700 hrs on 07/27/07 and 0900 hrs on 07/30/07, someone entered an office and took a laptop computer. An employee reported seeing an unknown man in the office. He is described as slim black male, approximately 25 years old, 160 lbs., 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, with short curly brown hair, large brown eyes, and possibly a goatee.

BURGLARY, 7/27/2007, 1000 block of N. Glebe Rd. Between 0515 hrs on 07/27/07 and 0900 hrs on 07/27/07, someone entered an office and took a laptop computer and an overhead projector. One witness reported seeing an unknown man in the office. The suspect is described as a young, thin black male with corn rows and a goatee, and he was wearing bright clothes.

BURGLARY, 7/27/2007, 2200 block of S. Knoll St. Between 1210 and 1445 hrs on 07/27/07, someone kicked open a door to gain access to a home and took a television and several electronic devices.

BURGLARY, 7/27/2007, 800 block of S. 23rd St. Between 1230 hrs on 07/26/07 and 1430 hrs on 07/27/07, someone broke a bedroom window to gain entry to an apartment and took several electronic devices, jewelry, and prescription drugs.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY BY INTIMIDATION, 7/27/2007, 4800 block of N. 17TH St. Between 1451 and 1501 hrs on 07/27/07, a man rang the doorbell of a home and when a resident answered the door, the suspect walked in without permission and demanded money for work he claimed he had done the drain pipes. The victim refused to give the suspect money and he left. Keith Anthony Franklin, 40, of Arlington, was stopped in the area by a patrol officer and arrested.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 7/26/2007, 2000 and 2100 blocks of N. Kensington St. Between 2030 hrs on 07/25/07 and 1000 hrs on 07/26/07, someone slashed the driver’s side tires on two vehicles.

INDECENT EXPOSURE, 7/26/2007, 5500 block of S. Columbia Pike. At approximately 1012 hrs on 07/26/07, a man exposed himself to a female employee inside a convenience store. The suspect then fled on foot.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 7/26/2007, 2700 block of S. 13th Rd. At approximately 0830 hrs on 07/26/07, a 37 year old woman was stabbed in the back by a former boyfriend inside an apartment. The victim also suffered a small cut on her hand. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment. A warrant was obtained charging 45 year old Juan Jose Flores with malicious wounding.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 7/26/2007, 1200 block of S. Hayes St. Between 1615 and 1625 hours on 07/26/07, A Metro Bus driver got into an argument with a motorist who was in a no parking zone. During the argument, the bus driver physically assaulted the man and used an unknown object to make a two-inch gash on the left side of his face. The victim was treated at a local hospital. The bus driver, 22 year old Brandis Lewis of Laurel, Maryland, was charged with malicious wounding and held without bond.

ABDUCTION, 7/25/2007, 4900 block of Lee Hwy. At approximately 0230 hrs on 07/25/07, a woman walking down the street saw a man walking behind her. The man then grabbed her and pulled her in between some nearby buildings. The victim fought against the suspect until he threw her down to the ground and fled on foot. The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s, 5 ft. 8 in. tall, 180 lbs, with short black hair, last seen wearing a black tank top and beige shorts.

ASSAULT & BATTERY, 7/25/2007, 2800 block of N. 11th Street. At approximately midnight on 07/25/07, a 24 year old woman was walking her dog when a man pushed her to the ground from behind. The suspect lowered himself towards the victim, but she kneed him in the groin and her dog bit him on the leg. The suspect then ran away. He was approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall and 230 lbs. He was wearing a black mask, black sweatshirt, black jeans and black shoes. The victim suffered scrapes and bruises on her legs.

FELONY HIT AND RUN, 7/25/2007, 500 block of N. Quincy St. At approximately 1800 hrs on 07/25/07, several vehicles on southbound N. Quincy St. were stopped at the red light at N. Glebe Rd. A Honda Civic driving southbound on N. Quincy St. rear-ended a Toyota Tacoma waiting at the red light. In an effort to flee the scene, the driver of the Civic backed up, striking a Land Rover which was also stopped at the red light. The Civic continued to back across the street and struck a parked Volkswagen in the northbound lanes of N. Quincy St. before pulling into a parking lot. The driver and all three passengers in the Civic then got out and fled on foot. No injuries were reported. Officers impounded the Civic and the investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY, 7/25/2007, 2400 block of S. Nelson St. Between 2100 hrs on 07/24/07 and 0700 hrs on 07/25/07, someone entered a business, possibly by forcing a door. Signs of tampering were evident in the business but it does not appear that anything was taken.

BURGLARY, 7/25/2007, 1100 block of S. Hayes St. Between 1600 hrs on 07/23/07 and 1400 hrs on 07/25/07, someone broke into the storage room for a business by forcing the door. It is unknown if anything was taken.

PROVIDING FALSE REGISTRATION INFORMATION (SEX OFFENDER REGISTRY), 7/25/2007, 2200 block of S. 6th St. At approximately 1955 hrs on 07/25/07, officers responded to a park for a report of a suspicious person. They found a man sitting on a picnic table watching children on a playground. It was determined that the man was a registered sex offender and that he had recently provided false registration information. Jack Alexander Gatewood, 43, of no fixed address, was charged with Providing False Registration Information (a felony in this case because Gatewood is classified as a violent sex offender) and held without bond.

BURGLARY, 7/25/2007, 3600 block of S. Glebe Rd. Between 1010 hrs on 07/24/07 and 0230 hrs on 07/25/07, someone entered an apartment by forcing the door and took clothing and jewelry.

FELONY HIT AND RUN, 7/24/2007, Columbia Pike / S. George Mason Dr. At approximately 1640 hrs on 07/24/07, a Toyota Corolla was stopped at a red light on eastbound Columbia Pike waiting to turn left onto S. George Mason Dr. A man in a Ford Taurus rear-ended the stopped Corolla, checked his vehicle for damage, then left the scene without talking to the occupants of the Corolla. The driver of the Corolla was transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries. A witness observed the tag number on the Taurus and officers located the suspect vehicle in the 4300 block of Columbia Pike. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY, 7/24/2007, 2000 block of N. Monroe St. Between 1900 hrs on 07/22/07 and 07/24/07, someone entered a vacant house by unknown means. Nothing was taken.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 7/24/2007, 2800 block of S. Glebe Rd. At approximately 2330 hrs on 07/22/07, a man walking down the street got into an argument with a suspect known to him. When a third man tried to intervene, the suspect pulled out a knife and slashed him several times. The suspect then slashed the man who he was originally arguing with and the two victims fled on foot. The victim who was first attacked suffered multiple lacerations to the face, arm, and abdomen but refused medical treatment. The other victim was transported to a local hospital with lacerations to the arm. The suspect was located by Alexandria Police who detained him until Arlington officers arrived. Gerardo Gomez-Padilla, 23, of no fixed address, was charged with two counts of Malicious Wounding and held without bond. It was later discovered that the suspect was also wanted by the Fairfax County Police for another malicious wounding under the name Justino Tapia. This information led to the suspect being charged with two counts of Forgery.

ROBBERY BY FORCE, 7/23/2007, 4200 block of Wilson Blvd. At approximately 1443 hrs on 07/23/07, a man approached a woman who was watching over four small children. The man pulled children’s flotation devices out of the hands of the woman and a 7-year-old boy. The suspect then walked across the street with the items but did not leave the scene. Officers arrived and detained the 20-year-old suspect, who appeared to be incoherent. After being evaluated by mental health professionals, the suspect was transported to a psychiatric facility and held on a Temporary Detention Order. No criminal charges have been filed at this time.

BURGLARY (SERIES), 7/23/2007, 1600 block of Wilson Blvd. Between 1720 hrs on 07/20/07 and 0800 hrs on 07/23/07, someone broke into two business suites in an office building by prying open the doors and unsuccessfully tried to break into two other suites, all on the same floor. Items taken included a laptop computer and cash.

ARMED ROBBERY, 7/22/2007, 4800 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 2350 hrs on 07/22/07, a man walking down the street was approached by a man holding a knife. The suspect demanded the victim’s money and the victim complied. The suspect then fled on foot. The suspect is described as a white Hispanic male, 25 years old, 5 ft. 8 in. tall, stocky, with black hair, brown eyes, and a partial beard, last seen wearing a blue and white striped short-sleeve shirt and black pants.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 7/22/2007, 5900 block of N. 9th St. At approximately 0148 hrs on 07/22/07, officers were dispatched for a report of a stabbing. When they arrived they located the 42-year-old male victim in the basement of a house suffering from a stab wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he is being treated for life-threatening injuries.

ENTICEMENT, 7/21/2007, 1300 block of S. George Mason Dr. At approximately 1515 hrs on 07/21/07, six teenage girls in a park noticed a man watching them. The man then asked the girls to come over to him and began to make lewd gestures. When the suspect saw one of the girls calling 911, he left on foot. The suspect is described as a dark-skinned black male in his 40s, 5 ft. 7 in. tall, 140 to 150 lbs, with black hair, last seen wearing a dark green suit, black t-shirt, and black shoes.

BURGLARY, 7/21/2007, 2000 block of Wilson Blvd. Between 0055 hrs and 0659 hrs on 07/21/07, someone entered a restaurant by unknown means and took cash from a safe.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 7/21/2007, 2100 block of N. Randolph St. At approximately 0215 hrs on 07/21/07, a woman was awoken by a sound from her bedroom window. The woman saw that somebody was standing on the outside windowsill. She screamed, slammed the window shut, and left the bedroom to call 911. When officers arrived, they found that screens had been removed from the bedroom window and another window but the suspect was not located.

GRAFFITI (SERIES), 7/21/2007, 4300 block of N. Pershing Dr. and 300 block of N. George Mason Dr. Between 2100 hrs and 2311 hrs on 07/21/07, someone spray-painted similar gang-related graffiti on numerous parts of two apartment buildings.

ROBBERY BY FORCE, 7/20/2007, 2100 block of N. Cameron St. At approximately 1430 hrs on 07/20/07, a woman was walking down the street. A man known to her approached her and began harassing her. When the woman threatened to call the police, the man physically assaulted her and took her cell phone and keys. The suspect then fled on foot. Warrants are pending.

BURGLARY, 7/19/2007, 4300 block of N. 4th St. Between 1500 hrs on 07/18/07 and 0730 hrs on 07/19/07, a vacant apartment was broken into and tools belonging to maintenance workers were stolen. The resident manager reported that the same apartment had been broken into on two prior occasions. Investigating officers were able to determine that five juveniles, ranging in age from 11 to 15, took part in the break-ins. Charges have not yet been filed against the juveniles.

BURGLARY, 7/19/2007, 1400 block of S. 28th St. Between 0705 and 1715 hrs on 07/19/07, someone entered an apartment through an open window and took a camera and a wallet.

BURGLARY, 7/18/2007, 4600 block of N. Fairfax Dr. Between 2000 hrs on 07/17/07 and 0700 hrs on 07/18/07, someone entered a business suite in an office building by unknown means and took several laptop computers.

GRAND LARCENY AUTO, 7/18/2007, 1200 block of N. Fort Myer Dr. At approximately 1713 hrs on 07/18/07, a witness saw a man smashing windows on a Chevy Astro van parked in the 1200 block of N. Pierce St. When officers arrived, they saw the suspect leaving the area in a Ford Crown Victoria. The Crown Victoria was found abandoned nearby and the suspect was located hiding in the bushes in the 1200 block of N. Nash St. It was determined that the Crown Victoria had just been stolen from the 1200 block of N. Fort Myer Dr. and tools had been taken from the Chevy Astro. The tools were recovered in the bushes where the suspect was apprehended. Marcus A Benson, 18, of Washington, D.C., was charged with Grand Larceny, Possession of Burglarious Tools, Petit Larceny, and Vehicular Trespass and held without bond.

BURGLARY, 7/17/2007, 2100 block of S. 8th St. Between 1108 hrs and 1445 hrs on 07/17/07, someone entered a house through a rear basement window and took numerous items including two iPods, a television, a camera, a video game system, video games, and jewelry.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 7/16/2007, 1200 block of N. Veitch St. Between 0815 hrs on 07/13/07 and 1803 hrs on 07/16/07, someone attempted to pry open the door to an apartment. It does not appear that entry was made into the apartment.

EXPOSURE, 7/16/2007, 2400 block of S. Fern St. At approximately 0600 hrs on 07/16/07, a man exposed himself to a woman walking northbound on Fern St. As the victim walked away she noticed the suspect following her. When she pulled out her cell phone to call 911 the suspect ran away. He is described as a white male, approximately 40 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 180 lbs. He was wearing a white t-shirt, khaki shorts and a red hat.

BRANDISHING, 7/16/2007, 4300 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 0012 hrs on 07/16/07, two men in the exercise room of an apartment building heard a loud banging on the windows. They observed three men outside of the building. One of the men displayed a handgun and then all three fled on foot. The suspect who had the gun is described as a white Hispanic male, 5 ft. 9 in. tall, thin, with a goatee.

BURGLARY, 7/15/2007, 4600 block of S. Four Mile Run Drive. Between 1600 hrs on 07/07/07 and 2000 hrs on 07/15/07, someone pried open an apartment door and took electronic equipment and DVDs.

ARMED ROBBERY, 7/15/2007, 3400 block of S. 25th St. At approximately 2307 hrs on 07/15/07, the victim allowed a man he had recently met into his apartment. The man produced a handgun and robbed the victim of his cell phone and car keys. The suspect then left the apartment and fled in the victim’s vehicle. The suspect is described as a black male, 5 ft. 8 in. to 5 ft. 9 in. tall, 180 to 190 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes, last seen wearing a black head covering, a black t-shirt and blue jeans.

FELONY HIT AND RUN, 7/15/2007, I-395 southbound at Washington Blvd. At approximately 0200 hrs on 07/15/07, a Lincoln Towncar was traveling southbound in the center lane of I-395 in the area of the exit to Washington Blvd. A light-colored vehicle in the left lane swerved over, sideswiping the Towncar, and fled without stopping.

BURGLARY, 7/15/2007, 500 block of S. 15th St. Between 1000 hrs and 1300 hrs on 07/15/07, someone entered an apartment by prying open the door. It is not known at this time if anything was taken.

BURGLARY, 7/15/2007, 6300 block of N. 24th St. Between 1100 hrs and 1445 hrs on 07/15/07, someone entered a house through an unlocked front door and took a purse.

BURGLARY, 7/15/2007, 1300 block of S. Army Navy Dr. Between 0825 hrs and 1430 hrs on 07/15/07, someone entered an apartment by prying open the door and took two laptop computers.

ROBBERY BY FORCE, 7/14/2007, 2900 block of S. Glebe Rd. At approximately 0753 hrs on 07/14/07, a man knocked an elderly woman to the ground in a grocery store parking lot and took her purse. The suspect fled on foot and was chased by a witness in a nearby vehicle. The suspect eventually dropped the purse and escaped. The witness returned the purse to the victim. The victim was treated at the scene by medics for injuries to the hands and face. The suspect is described as a light-skinned black male, 20 to 30 years old, 5 ft. 11 in. tall, 180 lbs, last seen wearing a blue short-sleeve shirt, black pants with white stripes, and white shoes.

BURGLARY, 7/13/2007, 300 block of S. Wayne St. At approximately 1200 hrs on 07/13/07, two teenage boys were seen tampering with an apartment window. They opened the window and one of the boys climbed into the apartment. Officers arrived and took two 13-year-old Arlington boys into custody. One was stopped as he exited the apartment and the other was found in the area near an iPod that had been taken from the apartment. One of the juveniles was released to a parent and the other was placed into the Northern Virginia Juvenile Detention Center. Petitions are pending.

PEEPING TOM, 7/12/2007, 200 block of N. Thomas St. At approximately 0041 hrs on 07/12/07, witnesses observed a man looking into the partially open bedroom window of an apartment. The man walked away from the building then returned a few moments later and approached the same window. He tampered with the window blinds and looked into the window again. Officers located the suspect in the area and arrested him. Robin Alduvi Umanzor, 27, of Arlington, was charged with Peeping into an Occupied Dwelling and held on $2,500 bond.

PEEPING TOM, 7/10/2007, 1000 block of S. Quebec St. At approximately 0030 hrs on 07/10/07, residents in an apartment saw a man looking into their bedroom window. They went outside to look for him but did not find him. About 10 minutes later the man returned and again looked in the window. When a female resident screamed, the suspect left on foot. A male resident followed the suspect and saw him leave the area in a brown 4-door vehicle. The suspect is described as a white male, 5 ft. 8 in. tall, 170 lbs, with brown hair, last seen wearing a black shirt with a horizontal white stripe and blue jeans.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING / CRUELTY TO ANIMALS, 7/9/2007, 4900 block of N. Old Dominion Dr. At approximately 2015 hrs on 07/09/07, two men got into an argument. While the victim was holding a small dog, the suspect picked up a board and hit him several times on the head and shoulders. The dog was struck in the head during the altercation. The victim suffered a laceration to the arm and the dog died from a head injury. Maurice Kevin Smith, 50, of Arlington, was charged with Malicious Wounding and Cruelty to Animals and held without bond.

BURGLARY, 7/9/2007, 1900 block of N. Moore St. Between 1900 hrs on 07/06/07 and 0646 hrs on 07/09/07, someone entered a business suite by unknown means and took several laptop computers and some personal belongings.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 7/9/2007, various locations in north Arlington. Between 0720 hrs and 1720 hrs on 07/09/07, someone entered five vehicles by smashing windows and took GPS devices, cash, and other small items. The vehicles were parked in the 2300 block of Clarendon Blvd, the 1500 and 3100 blocks of Wilson Blvd, and the 800 block of N. Quincy St.

ARMED ROBBERY, 7/8/2007, 4300 block of N. Pershing Dr. At approximately 0200 hrs on 07/08/07, a man standing outside of an apartment building was approached by three men with their faces covered. One of the men displayed a knife and took the victim’s wallet. The suspects fled on foot.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 7/8/2007, 5100 block of N. 10th St. Between 1200 hrs on 06/23/07 and 2040 hrs on 07/08/07, someone damaged the rear door of a house in an apparent burglary attempt.

SEXUAL ASSAULT, 7/7/2007, 500 block of S. 23rd St. At approximately 0100 hrs on 07/07/07, a man sexually assaulted a woman near the rear entrance of a business and left on foot. The suspect is described as a black male, 20 to 30 years old, 6 ft. tall, skinny, with short black hair and brown eyes, last seen wearing a baseball cap, blue t-shirt and blue jeans.

ARMED ROBBERY, 7/7/2007, 200 block of N. Thomas St. At approximately 0810 hrs on 07/07/07, a man was approached by a stranger who demanded his money. The victim was compliant and the suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash. A witness tried to intervene but the suspect pulled out a knife and fled on foot. The suspect is described as a white Hispanic male, 25 years old, 5 ft. 3 in. tall, 140 lbs (skinny), with black curly hair and a mustache, last seen wearing a dark blue t-shirt and black pants.

Kenwood St. At approximately 2140 hrs on 07/07/07, a man delivering pizzas accidentally turned the wrong way onto a one-way street and came to a stop head-to-head with a vehicle going in the right direction. Four men got out of the vehicle and approached the pizza delivery man’s car. The men took pizza, cigarettes, and cash from the victim before he was able to turn his car around and leave the area. The suspect who took the cash is described as a black male, 5 ft. 8 in. tall, 160 lbs, with black hair, last seen wearing a blue shirt and dark blue jeans.

ATTEMPTED MALICIOUS WOUNDING / MISSILE INTO AN OCCUPIED VEHICLE, 7/7/2007, 900 block of S. Orme St. At approximately 2301 hrs on 07/07/07, a tow truck driver was standing outside of his vehicle when he felt the impact of several projectiles. He saw a nearby group of men run away and observed one of the men carrying a gun. When the victim got back into his truck he heard the sound of projectiles striking the side of the truck. He saw the man with the gun across the street shooting at his truck. The suspect again fled on foot. Responding officers located and arrested the man who had been firing the gun. A K-9 officer searched the area and found the plastic BB gun. Marcus D. Jackson, 19, of Washington, D.C., was charged with Attempted Malicious Wounding and Missile Into An Occupied Vehicle and held on $5,000 bond.

BURGLARY, 7/7/2007, 1400 block of S. 28th St. Between 2230 hrs on 07/06/07 and 0350 hrs on 07/07/07, someone entered an apartment through an unsecured window and took laptop computers, cell phones, a television, and other electronic devices.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 7/7/2007, 2700 block of S. Fern St. Between 2000 hrs and 2210 hrs on 07/07/07, someone shattered the windshields on six parked vehicles.

MISSILE INTO AN OCCUPIED VEHICLE, 7/6/2007, 1300 block of S. George Mason Dr. At approximately 1854 hrs on 07/06/07, a man was driving a minivan southbound on S. George Mason Dr. when an unknown object struck the windshield and shattered it. The occupants of the minivan were not injured.

BURGLARY, 7/6/2007, 4200 block of N. 2nd Rd. Between 1800 hrs on 07/05/07 and 0603 hrs on 07/06/07, someone entered an apartment under renovation by smashing a window. It does not appear that anything was taken.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 7/6/2007, 700 block of N. George Mason Dr. Between 1045 hrs and 1400 hrs on 07/06/07, someone broke a window pane on the rear kitchen door of a house in an apparent attempt to gain entry. At the same home, a screen was removed from a bedroom window and the pane was partially shattered. It does not appear that either attempt to break in was successful.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 7/6/2007, 2700 block of S. Fort Scott Dr. Between 1200 hrs on 07/05/07 and 1150 hrs on 07/06/07, someone smashed windows on two parked vehicles.

ARMED ROBBERY, 7/4/2007, 4300 block of N. Pershing Drive. At approximately 0045 hrs on 07/04/07, a 21 year old man was standing in a bus shelter talking on a cell phone when he was approached by four men. Two of the suspects grabbed the victim while a third punched him in the face. The third suspect then produced a gun and pointed it at the victim’s face while the fourth suspect threatened him with a knife. The suspects demanded money and searched the victim’s pockets before fleeing with his cell phone.

ACCIDENT/INJURED CHILD, 7/4/2007, 2900 block of S. Glebe Rd. At approximately 1119 hrs on 07/04/07, a 25 year old woman parked her car outside of a grocery store and rolled the windows up. A 2 year old boy in the backseat got his head caught in the window. When the woman realized what had happened she rolled the window back down and rushed to help the child. The boy was flown by medivac Helicopter to Children’s Hospital in critical condition. The incident is still under investigation.

BURGLARY, 7/3/2007, 800 block of N. Monroe St. Between 1900 hrs on 07/01/07 and 1605 hrs. on 07/03/07, someone pried open two storage units in an apartment building and took numerous items.

BURGLARY, 7/3/2007, 3700 block of S. 1st Rd. At approximately 0424 hrs on 07/03/07, a resident awoke to find an unknown man entering her bedroom. The man fled when he saw the resident was awake. A cell phone was taken during the burglary. It is unknown how the suspect got into the home.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY / ATTEMPTED LARCENY FROM AUTO, 7/2/2007, 4300 block of Lee Hwy. Between 0051 hrs on 07/01/07 and 0634 hrs on 07/02/07, someone entered an office trailer by smashing a window. There were also several vehicles parked in the lot next to the trailer which were rummaged through. It is unknown at this time if anything was taken from the trailer or the vehicles.

LARCENY FROM AUTO / DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 7/2/2007, 2600-2700 blocks of S. Veitch St. and 2700 block of S. Adams St. Between 1500 hrs on 07/01/07 and 1050 hrs on 07/02/07, someone damaged three vehicles to gain entry, breaking a window on one and cutting convertible tops on the other two. Nothing was taken from those vehicles. A small tool and cash were taken from a fourth vehicle which had been left unlocked.
