DUI-ARREST, 3/31/2008, I-66 West. On March 30, at 9 pm, police attempted to stop an individual for erratic driving behavior. The suspect drove off in a reckless manner and struck another vehicle; he then lost control of his vehicle and crashed. The suspect fled on foot from the scene of the accident, and was apprehended by officers. Jared Irula, 24, of Woodbridge, was arrested on DUI, Felony Hit and Run, Felony Eluding Police, and Driving on a Revoked License. He was held without bond.
ATTEMPTED COMMERCIAL BURGLARY, 3/31/2008, 3800 block of S. Four Mile Run Drive. Sometime between 9 pm on March 28, and 9 am on March 29, an unknown subject attempted to gain entry to a business by damaging the exhaust fan.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY, 3/31/2008, 3200 block of S. 24th Street. Sometime between 2:30 pm on March 27, and 6 am on March 28, an unknown subject gained entry to a construction site and stole copper wiring. There is no suspect description.
BURGLARY, 3/31/2008, 2500 block of N. Wilson Boulevard. On March 26, at 7 am, the victim discovered items had been removed from her vacated office. There are no known suspects.
BURGLARY-ARREST, 3/31/2008, 200 block of N. George Mason Drive. On March 29, at 3 am, the victim discovered a male she did not know inside her apartment. She called an acquaintance who came over until police arrived. It appears the suspect entered the residence through a window. Jesus Rivera, 27, of no fixed address, was arrested for Breaking and Entering, and Assault and Battery. He was held without bond.
BURGLARY-ARREST, 3/31/2008, 1600 block of N. Wilson Boulevard. On March 28, at 11:30 pm, a male entered an apartment that he did not reside in. The two residents did not know the suspect. While the female exited the apartment, the male restrained the suspect until police arrived. Jason Downs, 25, of no fixed address, was arrested for Breaking and Entering and held without bond.
LARCENY (SERIES), 3/28/2008, Various locations Arlington-East Falls Church area. Sometime between 11:30 pm on March 26, and 4:45 am pm on March 27, an unknown suspect broke into 18 vehicles in the same general area. All but two of the vehicles were left unlocked. Two unlocked vehicles had keys inside, were stolen, and then recovered a short distance away. There is no suspect description.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY, 3/28/2008, 5100 block N. Wilson Blvd. On March 27, between 12:30 am and 6:30 am, an unknown subject broke into a business and stole several items. There is no suspect description.
ROBBERY, 3/28/2008, 3400 block of S. Columbia Pike. On March 27, at 4pm, a suspect stole a large amount of money from a man waiting to deposit it, and ran. The victim chased the suspect, and a car of citizens assisted the victim. The victim confronted the suspect and took his money back. The suspect fled on foot again, since the victim had his money, he did not follow. Police responded, gave chase, and the suspect was taken into custody. Olaundo Wilson, 44, of Washington D.C., was arrested for Robbery and held without bond.
BURGLARY, 3/27/2008, 800 block of S. 23rd Street. Sometime between 3:30 pm on March 21, and 11:30 pm on March 26, an unknown subject broke into an apartment. The owner found several items missing. There is no suspect description.
BURGLARY, 3/26/2008, 1900 block of S. Lowell Street. On March 18, at 11 am, a woman found a broken window at her house that is currently under construction. At a later time she discovered that items had been stolen. There are no known suspects.
LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 3/23/2008, 6400 block of N. 25th St. Between 11:45 pm on March 22 and 10 am on March 23, someone entered five unlocked vehicles and took change.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 3/23/2008, 1500 block of N. Wilson Blvd. At approximately 12:01 am on March 23, during a fight inside a restaurant, a 31 year old man was punched and struck with a bottle. During the initial investigation, officers broke up another fight between 2 individuals and arrested one of them. Ken Nguyen Quach, 24, of Hyattsville, MD was charged with Assault and Battery and Disorderly conduct. The investigation of the original incident continues.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING - ARREST, 3/22/2008, 6100 block of N. Wilson Blvd. At approximately 10 pm on March 22, a 38 year old man was stabbed in the arm by his roommate during a dispute. Rene Milla Turcios, 29, of Arlington, was arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING - ARREST, 3/22/2008, 1300 block of S. George Mason Drive Between 10:06 and 10:30 pm on March 22, during a domestic dispute a man kicked open the door to an apartment. The door struck a 40 year old woman in the face causing a deep laceration above her right eye. The suspect fled on foot but was apprehended a short time later at a bus stop. Roderic Welcher, 39, of Arlington, was arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding and Possession of Marijuana.
ROBBERY, 3/22/2008, 1600 block of S. Hayes St. At approximately 8 pm on March 22, a 22 year old woman was walking when a man approached and forcibly took her purse. The suspect is described as a black male, 20-25 years old, approximately 6 feet tall, 180-190 lbs. with a dark complexion.
BURGLARY, 3/21/2008, 2500 block of S. Arlington Mill Drive Between 9 am and 4 pm on March 21, someone entered an apartment and took credit cards. There were no signs of forced entry.
COMMERCIAL BUGLARY-ARREST, 3/21/2008, 6800 block N. Lee Highway. At 12:30 am on March 21, police were called about a subject that kicked in a door at a business. The suspect was located by Falls Church Police. John Hoffman, 18, of Falls Church, was arrested for Burglary and held on a $1,000 bond.
SOLICITATION OF A MINOR-ARREST, 3/21/2008. On March 20, after a year long investigation, police arrested a subject who traveled Sweden to Arlington to have sex with a teenage girl. Jesper Lundberg, 41, of Jarfalla, Sweden, on charges of Traveling to Engage in Illicit Sexual Conduct with a Minor and Enticement of a Minor. He is being held at the Alexandria Adult Detention Center without a bond.
BURGLARY, 3/20/2008, 3800 block of N. Stafford Street. On March 20, at 2:40 am, police responded to a community center for a burglary call while the fire department responded to the same location for a fire call. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the center was broken into, and the fire alarm was set when a fire extinguisher was deployed.
BURGLARY, 3/20/2008, 2000 block of N. Cameron Street At 5pm on March 17, an apartment door was found forced open. Several items had been stolen from a vacated residence and there are no known suspects.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY, 3/20/2008, 1900 block of N. Wilson Boulevard. Sometime between 8:30 pm on March 18, and 9:30 am on March 19, and unknown subject stole a laptop from a business. There was no sign of forced entry. Suspect description is unknown.
COMMERCIAL BUGLARY, 3/20/2008, 5000 block of N. Wilson Boulevard. On March 19, shortly after midnight, an unknown male broke into a gas station, and stole various items. The suspect is described as a white male, between 20 and 30 years of age, 5’6”, with brown hair and a full beard, wearing a shiny green athletic jacket and black shoes.
BANK ROBBERY, 3/20/2008, 1700 block of N. Moore Street. At 1:30 pm, on March 19, a man handed a note to a bank teller, implied carrying a weapon, and robbed the teller. The suspect is described as a white Hispanic male, between 35 and 40 years old, 5’3”, wearing a dark suit and fedora style hat.
ROBBERY, 3/19/2008, 2800 block S. Glebe Road. Shortly after 1 pm, on March 18, a woman was walking on the bike path along S. Glebe Rd. An unknown subject approached her from behind and forcibly removed her purse from her shoulder. The suspect is described as a white Hispanic male, 5’2”, around 20 years old, dark curly hair, wearing a blue track suit with white stripes down the sides.
GRAND LARCENY (SERIES), 3/18/2008, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. On March 17, sometime between 10 am and 11:40 pm, an unknown subject broke into three vehicles in the parking garage. The suspect gained entry to the vehicles by breaking a window in each. Various items were stolen, and there are no known suspects.
GRAND LARCENY AUTO-ARREST, 3/18/2008, 1000 block of N. Barton Street. On March 17, at 2 am, officers observed a vehicle that had been reported stolen out of Washington D.C. Once stopped, two men were taken into custody. Items stolen from various stores were found in the recovered vehicle. Jeffery Taylor, 53, of Washington D.C., was arrested for Grand Larceny Auto and Driving without an Operator’s License, and was held on a $3000 bond. Alan Mollohan, 30, of Washington D.C., was arrested and released on a summons for Petit Larceny.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY, 3/18/2008, 5200 block of N. Wilson Boulevard. Sometime between 5 pm on March 16, and 8 am on March 17, an unknown subject broke into a business through a window. A laptop was stolen and there are no known suspects.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY, 3/18/2008, 5200 block of N. Lee Highway. An unknown subject forced their way into a business through the roof between 5pm on March 15, and 5 am on March 17. Money was taken and there is no suspect description.
BURGLARY, 3/18/2008, 2100 block of S. Jefferson Davis Highway. At 7 am on March 17, the victim discovered his apartment had been broken into sometime since 6 pm on Friday, March 14, by a subject known to him and his roommate.
BURGLARY, 3/18/2008, 1100 block of N. Arlington Boulevard. Sometime between 8:30 pm on March 15, and 11:30 am on March 16, an unknown suspect entered an apartment and stole several items.
GRAND LARCENY (SERIES), 3/17/2008, 800 block of S. Army Navy Drive. On March 16, sometime between 11 am and 2 pm, an unknown subject broke into three vehicles in the parking garage. The suspect gained entry to the vehicles by breaking a window in each. Various items were stolen, and there are no known suspects.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING-ARREST, 3/17/2008, 4300 block of N. Carlin Springs Road. At 12 am, on March 15, a woman reported that a male known to her, assaulted her and stole her property. Franklin Hernandez, 23, of Alexandria, was arrested for Malicious Wounding, Robbery, and Fraudulent ID. He was held without bond.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING-ARREST, 3/17/2008, 4200 block of N. Fairfax Drive. On March 16, around 2 am, police responded to call about a robbery in progress. A male was attacked by two subjects and beat repeatedly. Police located a suspect who was identified by witnesses. Lawrence Emanuel Knight, 26, of Washington D.C., was arrested for Malicious Wounding and Robbery. He was held without bond.
ABDUCTION & SEXUAL BATTERY, 3/17/2008, 4100 block S. Four Mile Run Drive. Shortly after 1:30 pm, on March 16, a woman was walking on the bike path behind Barcroft Park. An unknown subject approached her from behind and forced her into the woods. The suspect put a cloth over the victim’s head and touched her body in various areas. The victim was pushed to the ground when the suspect fled the scene. A description could not be provided.
BURGLARY, 3/14/2008, 2900 block of S. 2nd Street. On March 13, sometime between 8:30 am and 5 pm, an unknown subject broke into an attached laundry room at a residence. Tools and a motor scooter were stolen. There was no sign of forced entry, and there is no suspect information.
BURGLARY-ARREST, 3/14/2008, 5500 block of N. 15th Street. At 1 am, on March 13, police responded to the scene of a one car accident with an injured driver. It was later determined that the driver had broken into a residence and taken several items, including keys. He then drove off in a vehicle belonging to the resident and was involved in the accident. Dylan O’Neill, 31, of Washington D.C., was arrested for Breaking and Entering, Grand Larceny Auto, and Driving Under the Influence of Drugs. He was held without bond.
GRAND LARCENY AUTO - ARREST, 3/12/2008, 2700 block of S. Arlington Mill Drive. On March 10, around 10 pm, a county employee was refueling an ART bus. An intoxicated male forced his way onto the bus and drove it away. The suspect then drove to a nearby gas station to get gas, where he was located by police. Mark Albicker, 43, of Chicago, IL, was arrested for Grand Larceny Auto, DUI, Refusing a Breath Test, and Driving on a Suspended License. He was held without bond.
SEXUAL BATTERY, 3/11/2008, 4600 block of N. Fairfax Drive. On March 10, around 5 pm, a female was walking on the bike trail when an unknown subject rode past her on a bicycle and grabbed her buttocks. The suspect was white male between 20 and 30 years old, with shaggy brown hair and a goatee. The suspect was also wearing a black jacket, jeans, a knit hat, sunglasses, and carrying a black bag.
FELONY HIT AND RUN, 3/9/2008, 3100 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 10:50 pm on March 9, a black Saturn SUV rear-ended a Chrysler Caravan. The driver of the SUV exited his vehicle and walked away from the scene. Officers later located Brian Merrill Miller, 44, of Arlington, at his residence and arrested him for Felony Hit and Run and DUI.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY, 3/9/2008, 1100 block of S. Joyce St. Between 9:30 pm on March 8 and 11 am on March 9, someone took money from a safe inside a retail store. There were no signs of forced entry.
ATTEMPTED COMMERCIAL BURGLARY, 3/7/2008, 4300 block of N. Arlington Blvd. Between 2 pm on March 6 and 10:30 am on March 7, someone tried to pry open the door to a storage facility at a business. A vehicle belonging to the business was also broken into.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 3/7/2008, 3400 block of N. 12th Rd. At approximately 1:49 am on March 7, the residents of a home heard a loud noise. It was later discovered that someone had tried to kick open a back door.
BURGLARY, 3/7/2008, 3800 block of S. 16th St. Between 9:30 am on March 7 and 7:15 pm on March 7, someone entered a residence and took a camera and clothing.
CHILD ABANDONMENT - ARREST, 3/7/2008, 800 block of S. Florida St. At approximately 10:58 pm on March 7, a 2 year old boy was found wandering barefoot in the intersection of S. 8th Rd. and S. Greenbriar St. Officers eventually located the child’s mother who indicated she had left him home alone. Officers arrested the woman for Child Abandonment and in the process she struck the arresting officer and violently resisted arrest.
BURGLARY, 3/7/2008, 3400 block of N. 12th Road. At 2 am on March 7, officers responded to a call about a person breaking into a residence. The homeowners heard a loud noise as an unknown subject tried to force their way in to the house. No suspects were located.
SEXUAL BATTERY, 3/7/2008, 6200 block of N. 12th Road. On March 1, around noon, a female was running on the W&OD trail when an unknown subject rode past her on a bicycle. The subject then turned back around and he rode by her a second time, grabbing her buttocks with his hand. The suspect was male, with wavy brown hair, and wore a blue and yellow jacket. The bicycle was not a racing bike, and had a bag attached to the back.
COMMERICAL BURGLARY, 3/6/2008, 100 block of N. Glebe Road. At midnight on March 6, officers responded to a call about a person breaking into a business. K9 units responded and located the suspect who was identified by a witness. Donald Musil, 34, of Arlington, was arrested for Burglary and Possession of Burglarious Tools. He was held on a $7500 bond.
COMMERICAL BURGLARY, 3/5/2008, 3400 Block of S. Glebe Road. Between 5 pm on March 3, and 6 am on March 4, an unknown suspect broke into a construction site and stole a laptop computer.
ATTEMPTED MURDER, 3/5/2008, 1200 Block of S. Rolfe Street. Shortly after 12 am on March 4, two roommates were arguing about the noise level in their apartment. The suspect took a knife from the kitchen and threatened to kill his roommate. The victim fled into a bedroom, while two other people exited the apartment and called police. The suspect was attempting to cut through the bedroom door with the knife when police arrived. Solomon Tadess, 23, of Arlington, was arrested for Attempted Murder and held without bond.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 3/4/2008, 2600 Block of N. Quincy Street. Sometime between 8 pm on March 1 and 7 am on March 3, someone tampered with two windows of a residence. Entry was not gained into the residence, and there are no known suspects.
COMMERICAL BURGLARY, 3/4/2008, 1900 Block of N. Quantico Street. Around 11 am on March 3, builders found an unlocked door at the construction site and discovered two paint sprayers were missing.
COMMERICAL BURGLARY, 3/4/2008, 2600 Block of S. Four Mile Run Drive. Between 2 pm on February 29, and 6 am on March 3, an unknown suspect broke into a construction site and stole various equipment.
COMMERICAL BURGLARY, 3/4/2008, 2800 Block of Randolph Street. At 6 am on March 3, a construction foreman discovered that several pieces of copper piping were stolen over the weekend.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 3/2/2008, 1400 block of S. Barton Street. Sometime between February 28 and March 2, someone attempted to forcibly open the front and rear entrances of a townhome. Entry was not gained into the residence, and there are no known suspects.
BURGLARY, 3/2/2008, 4900 block of S. Chesterfield Street. On March 2, at 4 am, units responded for an alarm call. Officers on scene observed a black male inside the school. The school was searched by K9 units and the suspect was not located.
ROBBERY, 2/29/2008, 900 block N. Stafford Street. At around 3 pm, on February 29, a man exited a restaurant in the 4300 block of Fairfax Drive. He was approached by a group of four teenage males who demanded money. The suspects assaulted the victim, his wallet stolen, fled on foot. A cab driver assisted the victim who was bleeding from his face. The four suspects are described as dark skinned Hispanic or light skinned black males, of varying heights, wearing dark clothing.
ROBBERY, 2/29/2008, 2700 block of S. Nelson Street. On February 29, between 6 pm and 12 am, two men were drinking alcohol and hanging out in a parking lot. The suspect punched the victim, and took $200 from his pocket. An arrest warrant for robbery was obtained for the suspect.
BURGLARY, 2/27/2008, 5600 block N. 33 St Sometime between 8 am on February 26 and 9 am on February 27, someone entered a residence and stole an assortment of electronic items and a watch. It is unknown how entry was gained.
BURGLARY, 2/26/2008, 1800 block of S. Columbia Pike Between 12:30 pm on February 24 and 7:30 pm on February 26, someone entered an apartment and took a satellite radio unit.
BURGLARY, 2/26/2008, 500 block of S. 23rd St. Between 7:10 pm on February 25 and 6:30 am on February 26, someone broke into a retail business and took cash. The suspect(s) also took a van belonging to the business.
BURGLARY, 2/25/2008, 400 block of N. George Mason Drive Between 6 pm and 10 pm on February 25, someone pried open the door to a maintenance workshop in an apartment complex and took copper fittings.
BURGLARY, 2/25/2008, 1000 block S. Walter Reed Dr. Sometime between 3 pm on February 22 and 9:15 am on February 25, someone entered a construction site and took an assortment of tools.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2/25/2008, 4200 block N. 2 Rd. On February 25 around 11:26 am, it was discovered that an apartment that was supposed to be vacant had a chain lock in place indicating someone was inside the apartment. A man and a 16 year old female were located in the apartment. Donovan Harper, 23, of Falls Church was arrested and charged with Unlawful Entry and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. The juvenile was in violation of probation and was brought to the Juvenile Detention Center.
LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 2/25/2008, 1100 block S. Hayes St, 800 block Army Navy Dr. Sometime between 6:30 and 8:15 pm on February 25 someone broke into four vehicles parked in the area. Cell phones, a laptop, and assorted personal property were taken.
LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 2/24/2008, 4600 block of S. Four Mile Run Drive. Between 9 pm on February 23 and 9:41 am on February 24, someone smashed windows to gain entry to four parked cars. Cash, compact discs and other items were taken.
BURGLARY, 2/24/2008, 1000 block of S. Walter Reed Drive. Between 4 pm on February 23 and 12:45 pm on February 24, someone broke into multiple storage units at a construction site and took power tools.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2/24/2008, 2000 block of Jefferson Davis Highway. Between 4:00 am and 4:07 am on February 24, a woman attacked a male acquaintance as he was driving her home. From the backseat of the vehicle, she punched and kicked him and scratched his face, causing the victim to temporarily lose control of the vehicle. Elizabeth Anne Tappan, 23, of Alexandria, was arrested, charged with malicious wounding and held on $10,000 bond.
ATTEMPTED MURDER/ABDUCTION - ARREST, 2/24/2008, 3700 block of S. 1 St. At approximately 4:30 a.m. on February 24, a 21 year old man attacked his wife in their home, stabbing her multiple times before a family member intervened. The suspect then fled in the relative’s vehicle. The victim suffered serious injuries but is expected to survive. The suspect, Kevin Enrique Itzep, was apprehended later that day by law enforcement officers in Wilson County, North Carolina. He is charged with attempted murder and abduction.
UNLAWFUL WOUNDING, 2/23/2008, 4200 block of N. Wilson Blvd. At approximately 5:15 pm on February 23 there was a physical altercation inside a store. During the fight, a store employee produced a knife and wounded two men. Wali Malik Shabazz, 33, of Alexandria, was charged with unlawful wounding and held on $20,000 bond.
LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 2/22/2008, 1800 and 2400 blocks of S. Eads St. and 500 block of S. 15th St. Between 7 pm on February 21 and 4:48 pm on February 22, someone broke into at least 3 vehicles and took GPS units and other items.
BURGLARY, 2/22/2008, 1800 block of N. Quinn St. Between 7:30 am on February 4 and 7:50 pm on February 22, someone took electronic equipment from a residence.
BURGLARY, 2/22/2008, 900 block of N. Lebanon St. Between 2 pm and 6 pm on February 22, someone entered a residence through an open window and took a laptop computer and stereo headphones.
BURGLARY, 2/21/2008, 1100 block Arlington Blvd. Sometime between 1 am and 9:15 am on February 21, someone entered a residence and stole a laptop computer, a phone and an IPOD. It is unknown how entry was gained.
FELONY HIT & RUN, 2/21/2008, 1700 block N. Lynn St. On February 21 around 7:50 pm, a silver Honda Accord was waiting to make a left turn onto N. Lynn St from Fairfax Dr when it was struck from behind by a green Mazda Miata with possible Tennessee license plates. The Mazda fled the scene, drove north on Lynn St then struck a red Honda Accord from behind at the light at Wilson Blvd. The Mazda fled the second accident scene driving east on Wilson Blvd. There were no injuries reported but both victim vehicles sustained significant damage.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 2/19/2008, 2300 block of N. Wilson Blvd. Between 8 am on February 18 and 8:30 am on February 19, someone tried to pry open a window on an office building. Entry was not made and nothing was taken.
BURGLARY, 2/19/2008, 4200 block of N. 4TH St. Between 1 pm and 7 pm on February 19, someone entered an apartment and took several items. There were no signs of forced entry.
BANK ROBBERY, 2/19/2008, 3600 block S Glebe Rd. On February 19 around 2:12 pm, a female approached a teller at a bank and produced a note demanding money. The teller gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash then the suspect fled on foot south towards Potomac Yards. The suspect is described as a black or Hispanic female, in her 20’s, between 5 feet 2 and 5 feet 6 inches tall, with curly brown hair, wearing sunglasses, blue jeans, black gym shoes and a multicolored zip-up shirt.
SEXUAL BATTERY, 2/19/2008, 1800 block Wilson Blvd. On February 19 around 5:30 pm, a 22 year old woman was walking in the area when a man approached her and grabbed her buttocks. The suspect ran west on Wilson Blvd. He is described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall, 190 pounds, wearing a blue ski jacket, blue jeans and a multi colored knit hat.
IMPERSONATING A POLICE OFFICER, 2/19/2008, 3200 block Quaker Lane. On February 19 around 9:10 pm, a 31 year old man was pulled over by a man in a black Chevy Suburban that had no police markings but did have emergency equipment. The suspect fled after the victim began questioning if the suspect was really a police officer. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, wearing a black hat, black jacket and black pants.
BURGLARY, 2/19/2008, 4700 block Wilson Blvd. Sometime between February 16 and February 19, someone entered a residence, possibly through a window, and took three firearms.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 2/18/2008, 2400 block of N. Quincy St. Between 12 pm on February 16 and 2 pm on February 18, someone cut the screen on a rear window of a residence. A suspicious person was seen in the yard. He is described as a white male, approximately 6 feet 3 inches tall and 180 lbs, with a goatee. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 2/18/2008, 2700 block of Washington Blvd. At approximately 9:45 am on February 18, 2 men were seen running from the rear of a retail business. He was wearing a cream colored, long-sleeve windbreaker with flowers, jogging pants and a headband. Suspect #2 is described as a Hispanic male, 20-23 years old, 5 feet 5 inches tall, 155 lbs. with black medium-length hair. He was wearing a black long-sleeve button down shirt and black pants.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 2/17/2008, 1600 block of Clarendon Blvd. At approximately 5 am on February 17, 2 men were observed trying to break into a model apartment. When a building resident confronted the suspects they fled.
BURGLARY, 2/16/2008, 1800 block Wilson Blvd. On February 16 around 4:35 am, someone broke into a business and took a safe which contained cash. It appears that entry was made through a side door which was found to have been tampered with. The suspect is described as a white or light skinned Hispanic male, 5 feet 7 inches tall, wearing a puffy black jacket, blue jeans, black sneakers and a hat.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 2/16/2008, 1200 block S. Clark St. On February 16 sometime between 5:00 and 5:50 am, someone broke a window to a business and damaged a door lock. It does not appear that entry was gained.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 2/16/2008, 1700 block N. Highland St. Sometime between 5 pm and 10:30 pm on February 16, someone broke a window at a residence. It does not appear that entry was gained.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 2/16/2008, 6700 block Lee Highway. On February 16 around 3:30 am, a 26 year old woman awoke to the sound of someone trying to break into her residence through a door. The suspect fled the scene and entry was not gained.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 2/16/2008, 900 block S. Oakland St. Sometime between February 15 and February 16, someone vandalized five vehicles in the 900 block of S. Oakland St. The damage was sustained to the vehicles’ side mirrors.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 2/15/2008, 800 block of S. Arlington Mill Drive. Between 10 am on February 14 and 4:20 pm on February 15, someone tried to pry open an exterior door to a laundry room in a condominium complex. No entry was made.
ASSAULT BY MOB, 2/14/2008, 4500 block S. 31 St. On February 14 around 3:30 pm, a 16 year old male was assaulted by several subjects while he was at a bus stop near Abingdon Elementary School. The victim sustained minor injuries to his head. The suspects are not known to him. They could only be described as three Hispanic males and one unknown race female, of high school age.
LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 2/14/2008, 4800 block S. 27 St., 4800 block S. 29 St., 2700 block S. Buchanan St. Sometime between 6:30 pm on February 13 and 5:30 am on February 14 someone broke into three cars parked in the area and took GPS units.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2/13/2008, 2600 block N. Glebe Rd. Sometime between 10:25 and 11:55 am on February 13, someone entered a residence through unknown means. The house was rummaged through and locks on the front door which had been left unlocked were found to be locked. Nothing appears to have been taken at this time.
FELONY HIT & RUN-ARREST, 2/13/2008, 5100 block N. 16 St. On February 13 around 6:06 pm, a Toyota Tacoma was pulling out of a parking space heading westbound in the 5100 block of N. 16 St. A Jeep Cherokee that was traveling westbound on N. 16 St struck the Toyota from behind. The Toyota left the scene but was located by officers a short time later. Michael Spriggs, 20, of Arlington, was arrested and charged with Felony Hit and Run, DUI, and Possession of Marijuana. He was held on a $3500 secured bond.
GRAND LARCENY, 2/12/2008, 900 block of N. Oakland St. Between 1 pm on February 10 and 5:30 am on February 12, someone took 3 copper downspouts from the exterior of a church.
ATTEMPTED ABDUCTION, 2/11/2008, 800 block N. Quincy St. On February 11 around 12:30 pm, a 32 year old woman was in the 800 block of N. Quincy St with her 3 yr old daughter when a man picked her daughter up and started walking away with her. The woman told the man to stop, which he did, placing the child back down. The suspect is described as a black male, 30 – 35 years old, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, 155 pounds, with brown eyes and short black hair. He was wearing a white hoodie and blue jeans.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 2/11/2008, 800 block of S. Frederick St. Between 12:01 am and 5 am on February 11, someone scratched 4 vehicles in a parking lot with an unknown object.
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, 2/11/2008, 5300 block of S. 7th Street. Between 11:25 pm and 11:37 pm on February 11, a 42 year old woman was waiting at a bus stop when two men approached and demanded money. The suspects implied they had a weapon and tried to wrestle a suitcase away from the victim. At that time, a witness intervened and the suspects fled on foot. They are both described as black males in their early 20’s, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and 140 lbs. They were both wearing masks and black hooded jackets with 2 white stripes down the arms.
ROBBERY, 2/10/2008, 1300 block of S. Highland St. At approximately 1:07 am on February 10, a 34 year old man was walking when he was approached by 3 men who demanded money. The suspects struck the victim, took his cell phone and cash, and fled on foot. The suspects are described as black males in their early 20’s, all approximately 6 feet tall with thin builds and no facial hair.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING/DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY - ARREST, 2/9/2008, 3900 block of Wilson Blvd. At approximately 9:21 pm on February 9, an intoxicated patron discharged a fire extinguisher inside a crowded restaurant. The suspect sprayed the dry chemicals on the floors, tables, chairs and other patrons. Alexander Cornado-Gonzales, 21, of Arlington, was arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding with a Caustic Substance, Destruction of Property and Failure to ID. He was held without bond.
BURGLARY, 2/8/2008, 4600 block of N. Fairfax Drive. Between 6:35 am on February 7 and 9:30 am on February 8, someone pried open the door to an office and took a laptop computer and a candy jar.
BURGLARY, 2/8/2008, 2200 block of N. Lexington St. Between 8 am and 8 pm on February 8, someone entered a residence and took a laptop computer and a camera.
BURGLARY, 2/7/2008, 3600 block of S. 25th St. Between 7 pm on January 23 and 9 pm on February 7, someone broke into a residence, ransacked it and left the water running. It is not known at this time if anything was taken.
ROBBERY, 2/7/2008, 4100 block N. Henderson Rd. On February 7 around 7 pm, a man entered a business and demanded money. He fled the store when the clerk called police. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, about 26 to 30 years old, with short black hair, wearing a white long sleeved shirt and black pants.
RAPE/ROBBERY/ABDUCTION, 2/6/2008, 1000 block N. Utah St. On February 6 around 5:30 am, a 30 year old woman was asleep in her residence when she was awakened by a noise. When she went to check on the noise she was confronted by a subject who was inside her apartment. The suspect implied that he had a gun and he sexually assaulted the victim. The suspect then made the victim drive him to a local bank where she withdrew money. They drove into Fairfax County where he again made her withdraw money from an ATM. The victim dropped the suspect off at a motel on Route 1 in Fairfax. The suspect is described as a black male, 5’10” tall, 210 pounds, in his mid 30’s, wearing a dark sweatshirt and jeans.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 2/6/2008, 4600 block Columbia Pike. On February 6 around 3:08 am, someone tried to pry open a door to a business. It does not appear that entry was gained.
GRAND LARCENY AUTO/LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 2/6/2008, Various Locations 1700 block N. Quebec St, 4300 block N. 19 St, 4300 block Lee Highway, 2300 block N. Glebe Rd, 4600 block N. 24 St. Officers responded to the 4300 block of N. 19 St for a report of a vehicle that had been stolen sometime between 11 pm on February 5 and 7:16 am on February 6. The vehicle was found nearby with items missing. While on scene, officers found that eight other vehicles in the surrounding area had been broken into. A GPS unit, a purse, a two satellite radio systems, and several portable dvd players were taken.
BRANDISHING OF FIREARM, 2/5/2008, 800 block S. Greenbrier St. On February 5 around 2:57 pm a man was seen in the area pointing a firearm at woman. The suspect and victim fled on foot south on Greenbrier St. The suspect is described as a male, possibly Hispanic, 20-25 years old, wearing a grey hoodie and dark blue jeans. The victim could not be located.
BRANDISHING OF FIREARM, 2/5/2008, 1000 block S. Hayes St. On February 5 around 8:50 am a 38 year old woman was involved in a traffic altercation with a man at a stop light. The suspect pointed a firearm at the victim then fled south on I-395. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a silver Dodge Caliber with tinted windows and possibly Maryland license plates.
HATE CRIME/LARCENY, 2/5/2008, 1100 block Arlington Blvd. Sometime between noon on February 3 and 5:30 pm on February 5, someone drew a swastika on the door of a residence. A religious symbol was also taken from the victim’s door.
BURGLARY, 2/5/2008, 2400 block S. Monroe St. Sometime between 5:30 pm on February 4 and 10 am on February 5, someone entered a vacant residence by damaging a door. It does not appear that anything was taken.
FELONY HIT & RUN, 2/5/2008, N. Glebe Rd/ Fairfax Dr. On February 5 around 9:02 pm, a Chrysler Sebring was traveling northbound on N. Glebe Rd. A black or dark green Honda Civic traveling south on Glebe Rd made a left turn onto Fairfax Dr, turning into the path of the Chrysler. The Honda fled the scene. There were no injuries reported, but the victim vehicle sustained significant damage.
ARMED ROBBERY, 2/4/2008, 3000 block S. Glebe Rd. On February 4 at approximately 8:37 pm, officers were dispatched to the 4000 block of Mount Vernon Avenue in Alexandria to meet with a victim of a robbery that had occurred in Arlington. The victim stated that he was robbed at knifepoint of cash while on the bike trail in the area. Both of the suspects are known to the victim, but could only be described as Hispanic males who are 25 to 40 years old. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY, 2/4/2008, 1800 block Wilson Blvd. Sometime between 11 pm on February 1 and 7:15 am on February 4, someone entered an office building through unknown means. Damage was done to some interior doors and personal property was taken.
BURGLARY, 2/3/2008, 5700 block Washington Blvd. Sometime between midnight and 1 am on February 3, someone entered a residence through an unlocked door and took a laptop computer.
DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM, 2/3/2008, 800 block of S. Wayne St. At approximately 10:17 on February 3, several gunshots were fired from an unknown vehicle as it drove through the intersection of S. Wayne and S. 8th Streets. Witnesses say the vehicle was possibly a large, grey or silver sedan.
LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), , 2/2/2008, 2400 block of S. Army Navy Drive. Between 10 pm on February 2 and 9:10 am on February 3, someone broke into 4 vehicles in a parking garage. GPS units and other items were taken from at least 2 of the vehicles.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING - ARREST, 2/2/2008, 2800 block of N. Wilson Blvd. At approximately 12:20 am on February 2, a patron at a bar struck another patron in the head with a glass. The victim suffered several lacerations and was treated at a local hospital. Michael James Kotheimer, 29, of Falls Church, was arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 2/1/2008, 5100 block of S. Columbia Pike. Between 3 pm on January 31 and 7 am on February 1, someone tried to pry open several windows of a party room at a condominium complex. No entry was made.
ARMED ROBBERY, 2/1/2008, 300 block of S. Wayne Street. At approximately 1:40 am on February 1, a 21 year old man was walking home from a convenience store when two men approached and demanded money. One of the suspects was armed with a gun. They took cash and cigarettes from the victim’s pockets and fled on foot. Suspect #1 is described as black male, approximately 20 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a slim build. Suspect #2 is described as a black male, 17-18 years old, approximately 5 feet 1 inches tall, also with a slim build.
LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES)/RECOVERED STOLEN AUTO - ARRESTS, 2/1/2008, Various Addresses. On February 1, at least 27 vehicles were broken into on S. Quebec Street, S. Arlington Mill Drive, S. Four Mile Run Drive, S. Wakefield Street, S. Chesterfield Road, S. George Mason Drive, S. 28th Road, S. 16th Street and S. 17th Street. GPS units, iPods and other electronic devices were taken. Witnesses reported seeing 2 men fleeing the area in a black Crown Victoria. A short time later, an Arlington Police Officer and a Sheriff’s Deputy spotted the car northbound on I-395. The suspect vehicle crashed into a guardrail on the highway and the suspects then fled on foot. They were found hiding inside an apartment building in the 1100 block of Army Navy Drive and taken into custody without incident. Officers recovered numerous electronic devices on the suspects and in their vehicle. The investigation is continuing.
FELONY HIT & RUN/ARREST, 1/31/2008, I-395 Southbound, south of Washington Blvd. On January 31 around 10:24 pm, a Toyota Tundra was southbound on I-395 in the area of Washington Blvd when the driver braked suddenly. The Honda CRV traveling behind the Toyota struck the Toyota in the rear. The Toyota fled the scene and was apprehended by police a short time later. There were no injuries reported but both vehicles sustained significant damage. Pichet Laosiri, 37, of Lake Ridge, was arrested and charged with Hit and Run and DUI. He was given an unsecured bond and released on Personal Recognizance.
BURGLARY, 1/30/2008, 5000 block S. 23 St. Sometime between 2 pm on January 29 and 8:10 am on January 30 someone entered a vacant dwelling that is under construction and stole tools. It is unknown how entry was gained.
BURGLARY, 1/30/2008, 300 block N. Thomas St. Sometime between 5 am and 2 pm on January 30, someone broke into a residence, possibly through an unlocked window. Cash, a game system, and assorted personal property were taken.
FELONY HIT & RUN/ARREST, 1/30/2008, 5500 block Columbia Pike. On January 30 around 7:18 pm, a Chevy truck was eastbound on Columbia Pike and made a left turn into the path of a Hyundai Sonata that was traveling westbound. The Hyundai struck the Chevy on the Chevy’s passenger side causing significant damage to both vehicles. No injuries were reported. The Chevy fled the scene but was located by police officers a short time later. Oscar Gonzalez, 32, of Woodbridge, was arrested and charged with Hit & Run, DUI, and Refusal.
LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 1/30/2008, 3500 block N. Dinwiddie St, 5000 block N. 36 St, 4900 block N. 34 Rd. Sometime between January 29 and January 30, someone broke into three vehicles parked in the area. The cars were rifled through and change was taken.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 1/29/2008, 5600 block N. 26 St. Sometime between 8 am on January 29 and 5:45 pm on January 30, someone broke into a vacant dwelling by damaging a door. Nothing appears to have been taken at this time.
BURGLARY, 1/29/2008, 4900 block S. Chesterfield Rd. Sometime between 8 am on January 28 and 3:20 pm on January 29, someone broke into a gym by damaging the lock. Nothing appears to be missing at this time.
BURGLARY, 1/29/2008, 3100 block Key Blvd. Sometime between 2:15 and 2:45 on January 29, someone broke into a residence through a door and took a laptop computer, cash, and assorted electronic equipment.
ATTEMPTED CARJACKING, 1/28/2008, 1400 block S. Hayes St. On January 28 around 5:21 pm, a 50 year old woman was approached in the mall parking garage by a subject who demanded her vehicle. The suspect was armed with a gun. The victim screamed and the suspect assaulted her. She suffered minor injuries. A bystander approached and the suspect ran from the scene without getting the victim’s car. The suspect is described as a black male, about 5’8” tall, 185 – 200 pounds, in his late 20’s or early 30’s, wearing a black or navy jacket, dark pants, and a blue or black knit wool hat with an emblem. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 1/28/2008, 2500 block N. Harrison St. On January 28 at approximately 9:35 pm, a 52 year old woman was walking to her car in a parking lot when she felt someone tugging on her purse. She screamed and struggled with the suspect but he was eventually able to take her purse. He fled on foot north on Harrison St. The suspect is described as a dark skinned white male or Hispanic male, approximately 5'4'', 150 lbs, with brown eyes, in his early 20's. He was wearing something covering his mouth and part of his face, and he was also wearing a grey and maroon sweatshirt with long, baggy pants. K-9 units responded and found several garments matching the clothing description which the individual was wearing, along with the victim’s purse.
BURGLARY/ARREST, 1/28/2008, 2500 block N. Lexington St. On January 28 around 9:06 am, a suspect was caught trying to break into a residence. He was rapidly apprehended by police officers. Lynn Mathis, 25, of no fixed address, was charged with three counts of Attempted Burglary and was held with no bond.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 1/27/2008, 1200 block of S. Courthouse Rd. At approximately 7:57 am on January 27, police officers responded to an apartment complex for a report of a suspect breaking into multiple vehicles. The suspect fled in a black, older model Ford Crown Victoria, driven by another individual. The suspects broke into at least 13 vehicles and took portable GPS devices and other items.
BURGLARY, 1/26/2008, 1300 block N. Quincy St. Sometime between 11 pm on January 25 and 9 am on January 26, someone entered several classrooms at a school through unknown means. The classrooms were vandalized and musical instruments were taken.
ROBBERY, 1/26/2008, 1000 block N. Barton St. On January 26 around 1 am, a 23 year old woman was walking in the area when she was approached by two subjects. They took her purse and fled in a vehicle in an unknown direction. The victim could only describe one of the suspects; he was a black male, about 5’ 10” tall.
FELONY HIT AND RUN, 1/26/2008, I-395 South near the GW Parkway. Between 10:35 pm and 10:40 pm on January 26, the driver of a Dodge Caravan van struck another vehicle on southbound I-395. The other vehicle spun around and came to a stop facing oncoming traffic. The driver of the van stopped briefly but then fled the scene. Adlan Ahmed Abdelaziz, 45, of Silver Spring, was later stopped by an officer and charged with Felony Hit and Run and No Operators License.
BURGLARY, 1/26/2008, 300 block of N. Thomas St. At approximately 4:30 am on January 26, the resident of an apartment saw someone reach into his window and take his wallet.
BURGLARY, 1/26/2008, 1300 block of Wilson Blvd. Between 1:30 am and 1:50 am on January 26, someone broke into a construction site inside a hotel. The suspect set several small fires and took various tools.
ASSAULT BY MOB, 1/26/2008, 2300 block of N. 11th Street. At approximately 2:22 am on January 26, a 17 year old man reported that he was attacked by six young men. The victim suffered cuts and bruises and possibly a broken nose.
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, 1/26/2008, 4800 block of N. Fairfax Drive. At approximately 12:20 am on January 26, a 32 year old man was walking when he was approached by two men. One of the suspects grabbed the victim’s hand and demanded money. The victim was able to break free and ran away.
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, 1/25/2008, 4100 block of N. 9th St. At approximately 11:45 pm on January 25, a 24 year old man was walking when a man approached him from behind and demanded money and the victim’s cell phone. The victim crossed the street towards a group of people and the suspect fled.
ROBBERY, 1/25/2008, 900 block N. Pollard St. On January 25 around 1 am, a 31 year old man was walking in the area when he was approached by two subjects who asked him for money. When the victim said he had none, the suspects grabbed the victim. They went through his pockets and took an assortment of his personal property. The suspects fled the scene on foot, running south on Pollard St. Suspect #1 is described as a black male, about 25 years old, 5’9” tall, 180 pounds, with some facial hair, wearing dark jeans and a black jacket. Suspect #2 is described as a black male, about 25 years old, 5’9” tall, 180 pounds, wearing a dark gray hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY/LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 1/25/2008, 1900 block N. Quantico St, 5700 & 6000 blocks N. 22 St. Sometime between January 23 and January 25, someone damaged three vehicles parked in the area (broken windows and taillights). Two GPS units and several IPODS were taken.
ROBBERY/MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 1/24/2008, 1200 block S. Eads St. On January 24 around 11:31 pm, three men were walking in the area when they were approached by two subjects who asked them for money. A struggle ensued and the suspects took two of the victims’ personal property. The third victim was assaulted and sustained a non-life threatening injury to his face. The suspects fled the scene and possibly left in a purple or maroon Chrysler PT Cruiser. Suspect #1 is described as a black male in his 20’s, 5’10” tall, 160 pounds, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a dark baseball hat. Suspect #2 is described as a black male in his 20’s, 5’10” tall, 160 pounds, wearing a dark ‘pea’ coat.
BURGLARY, 1/24/2008, 4400 block S. 31 St. Sometime between 5 am on January 21 and 6 pm on January 24, someone broke into a residence, possibly through a window, and took a large quantity of jewelry.
ROBBERY, 1/23/2008, 1600 block S. Joyce St. On January 23 around 8:46 pm, a 26 year old woman was walking in the area when a man took the victim’s book bag. The man and a second suspect fled north on Joyce St in a light colored four door vehicle. They could only be described as two black males in their 20’s.
ROBBERY, 1/23/2008, 2400 block N. 14 St. On January 23 around 11:30 pm, a 48 year old man was walking in the area when he was confronted by two men. The men pushed the victim and went through his pockets. They took some of the victim’s personal property then fled on foot towards Clarendon Blvd. Both suspects are described as black males, 5’10” – 6’2” tall, with dark skin and short haircuts. One suspect was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, and the other was wearing a green sweatshirt.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY/LARCENY FROM AUTO, 1/23/2008, 4500 block S. 31 St. Sometime between 11 pm on January 22 and 7:30 am on January 23, someone cut the fuel and brake lines of a parked vehicle. One of the car windows was also broken and compact disks were stolen.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 1/23/2008, various locations 5000 block S. 10 St. Sometime between 9 pm on January 22 and 7 am on January 23, someone spray painted nine vehicles, a fence, a retaining wall, and a tree in the 5100 block of S. 10 St. The incidents appear to be gang related.
BURGLARY, 1/22/2008, 4000 block Wilson Blvd. Sometime between 4 and 4:10 pm on January 22, someone entered a business through unknown means and took two projectors.
ABDUCTION/AGGRAVATED ASSAULT-ARREST, 1/22/2008, 600 block N. Kensington St. On January 22 at approximately 3:40 pm, an intoxicated subject who was riding on a bus assaulted a 42 year old man. The other passengers were able to leave the bus without incident, but the suspect held the victim on the bus until the victim was able to break free. Johan Middleton, 42, of Arlington was rapidly taken into custody by police and was charged with Abduction and Assault and Battery. He was held without bond.
BURGLARY, 1/22/2008, 1400 block N. Roosevelt St. Sometime between 9:30 am and 6 pm on January 22, someone broke into a residence by kicking in a basement door. A game system and cash were taken.

BURGLARY, 1/22/2008, 2400 block Lee Highway. Sometime between 11 pm on January 21 and 5:45 am on January 22, someone entered a business by removing an air conditioner from a window. Cash and cigarettes were taken.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 1/22/2008, Various Locations 1100 block S. 23 Rd, 1000 block S. 26 St, 2300 block S. Joyce St, 2200-2300 blocks S. Ives St, 900 block S. 20 St. Sometime between January 21 and January 22, someone broke out the windows of twelve parked vehicles in the above listed areas. It is suspected that a bb gun was used.
GRAND LARCENY, 1/22/2008, 1000 block S. Walter Reed Dr. Sometime between 3 pm on January 18 and 6 am on January 22, someone entered a construction site and took a large quantity of copper wire.
ROBBERY BY FORCE, 1/22/2008, 1600 block Wilson Blvd. On January 22 around 12:24 am, a 38 year old man was walking in the area when he was approached by two men. The suspects asked if the victim had any money, then went through the victim’s pockets. They fled on foot south on N. Pierce St. K-9 performed a track with negative results. Suspect #1 is described as a black male, in his 20’s, about 5’10”, slim, wearing light colored pants and a light blue hooded sweatshirt. Suspect #2 is described as a black male, in his 30’s, about 5’10”, with a round face, facial hair, wearing dark pants, a hooded navy sweatshirt, a dark hat, and wearing several rings.
LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 1/21/2008, various locations. From January 17 to January 21, GPS units were stolen from cars parked in the following locations: 1500 block S. 28 St, 2400 block S. Glebe Rd, 600 block S. Walter Reed Dr, 4400-4500 blocks Arlington Blvd, 1200 block N. Troy St, 2300 block N. 11 St, 1300 block Ft. Myer Dr, 2700 block Arlington Blvd, 4300 block Old Dominion Dr, and 700 block N. Abingdon St.
BURGLARY, 1/20/2008, 600 block S. 23 St. Sometime between 11 am and 3:30 pm on January 20, someone entered a residence through unknown means and took a computer, jewelry and other assorted personal property.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY/ARREST, 1/20/2008, 1300 block S. George Mason Dr. Sometime between 3 pm on January 17 and 7:30 am on January 20, a subject entered a vacant apartment through an unlocked window and set up residence. Gregory Coachman, 47, of no fixed address, was arrested for unlawful entry and released on a summons.
SUSPICIOUS PERSON, 1/20/2008, 2500 block N. 20 Rd. On January 20 at 11:51 pm, two men tried to open the door to an apartment. They shook the door knob and tried to stick something into the lock. Entry was not gained.
AGGRAVATED ASSAULT, 1/19/2008, 2200 block Arlington Blvd. On January 19 at 2:21 am, police responded to the area for a report of a stabbing. The victim, an 18 year old man, was later located at a local hospital where he was found to have a small, non life threatening wound. It appears that the victim was at a party when the incident occurred. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY, 1/19/2008, 1700 block S. Taylor St. Sometime between 3:30 pm on January 18 and 9:30 pm on January 19, someone entered a building, possibly through an unlocked door. Two computers and assorted household items were stolen.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 1/19/2008, 1800-2000 blocks N. Randolph St; 1700 block N. Stafford St. Sometime between January 18 and January 19, nine vehicles parked in the 1800-2000 blocks N. Randolph St and the 1700 block N. Stafford St had their windows and mirrors damaged.
BURGLARY, 1/18/2008, 4000 block N. Fairfax Dr. Sometime between 3:30 pm on January 17 and 8:45 am on January 18, someone entered an office through unknown means and took a computer, office equipment and some change.

SEXUAL ASSAULT, 1/17/2008, 1600 block N. George Mason Dr. On January 17, a patient at the hospital reported that a male nurse assaulted her in separate incidents on January 15 and 16 under the guise of giving her a massage. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY, 1/17/2008, 500 block N. Randolph St. Sometime between 3 pm on January 15 and 1:40 pm on January 17, someone took cash from a safe in a restaurant. Two suspects were seen. #1 is described as a black male, approximately 50 years old, 6 feet 3 inches tall and skinny. #2 is approximately 30 years old, 6 feet 1 inch tall, ‘chubby’, and was wearing a hat.
BURGLARY, 1/17/2008, 4500 block S. 31 St. Sometime between 7:45 am and 3:40 pm on January 17, someone broke into a residence through a window and took a computer.
BURGLARY, 1/17/2008, 2100 block S. Fillmore St. Sometime between midnight on January 16 and 9:15 am on January 17, someone broke into a storage area at a residence by prying open a lock. Multiple firearms were taken, along with a television and dvd player.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 1/17/2008, 1700-2300 blocks S. Eads St. A series of parking meters in the area were found to have been broken into and the money taken from them.
BURGLARY, 1/16/2008, 2000 block Wilson Blvd. Sometime between 4:45 pm on January 15 and 1 am on January 16, someone took money from a safe in a restaurant. There were no signs of forced entry.
BURGLARY, 1/16/2008, 2900 block S. 16 Rd. Sometime between 10:15 am and 2 pm on January 16, someone took a laptop computer and a television from a residence. There were no signs of forced entry.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 1/16/2008, 2300 block N Fillmore St. Sometime between 2 am and 10 am on January 16, someone tried to pry open the door to a residence. It does not appear that entry was gained.
FELONY HIT & RUN, 1/16/2008, Route 50/N. Pershing Dr. On January 16 around 1:40 am, a pedestrian was trying to cross Route 50 at N. Pershing Drive when he was struck by a silver four door vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene in an unknown direction. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries.
ROBBERY, 1/15/2008, 1400 block N. Fairfax Dr. On January 15 around 11:42 pm, a 34 year old woman was walking in the area when she was confronted by two men. One of the men took the victim’s purse, then the two fled the scene, possibly in a dark colored Toyota or Nissan. They are described as #1: a black male with light skin, in his 20’s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, 175 pounds, with a thin moustache, wearing baggy blue jeans, a dark hat and a dark colored sweatshirt or coat with vertical stripes. Suspect #2 could only be described as a black male in his 20’s, about 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall and 175 pounds.
BURGLARY, 1/15/2008, 1100 block N. Kentucky St. Sometime between 6:30 am and 11:35 pm on January 15, someone entered a residence through unknown means and took a television, two computers, and other assorted property.
ABDUCTION, 1/14/2008, 4000 block N. 9 St. On January 14 around 3:15 pm, an 18 year old woman was walking from the Metro when she was attacked. A man grabbed her and attempted to remove some of her clothing, but she was able to fight off her attacker. The suspect fled the scene. K-9 attempted a track but had negative results. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 30 years old, 6 feet tall, 200 pounds, bald, with a blonde beard, wearing a blue oxford shirt and blue jeans.
BURGLARY, 1/14/2008, 1200 block N. Fillmore St. Sometime between 8 pm on January 13 and 4:30 am on January 14, someone entered a business and took a cash box, bolt cutters, and other assorted property. There were no signs of forced entry.
SUSPICIOUS PERSON, 1/14/2008, 2700 block N. Florida St, Lee/Harrison St. On January 14 around 3:40 pm, a 17 year old female was approached by a man in a vehicle who asked her for the time. The man followed her in his car for a short distance. A second similar incident occurred about ten minutes later at Lee and N. Harrison St. The subject asked a female several times if she wanted a ride. The subject is described as a short Hispanic male, 20 to 35 years old, with dark brown hair, a small amount of facial hair, wearing a light colored shirt. He was driving an older model red boxy Volvo station wagon.
FELONY HIT AND RUN, 1/13/2008, Route 110/Marshall Drive. Between 10:36 pm and 10:44 pm on January 13, a Toyota Corolla traveling southbound on Route 110 collided with a Ford pickup truck that was attempting to turn left onto Marshall Drive. The Toyota was heavily damaged and two passengers in that vehicle were injured. The driver of the pickup truck did not stop. The investigation continues.
BURGLARY, 1/13/2008, 2000 block of Army Navy Drive. Between 3:30 pm on January 12 and 3 pm on January 13, someone broke into a vacant home through a back door. It does not appear anything was taken from the home.
BURGLARY, 1/12/2008, 600 block of S. Clark St. Between 4:40 pm and 6:20 pm on January 12, someone entered an office in a business and took a safe containing cash.
EXPOSURE, 1/12/2008, 1000 block of N. Quincy Street. At approximately 12:15 PM on January 12, a man exposed himself to a 40 year old woman inside a library. The suspect fled before officers arrived. He is described as a black male in his late 20’s or early 30’s, 6 feet 2 inches tall, about 200 lbs. He was wearing a black knit cap, gray t-shirt and blue jeans.
BURGLARY, 1/11/2008, 400 block of N. George Mason Drive. Between 6 pm on January 10 and 6:30 am on January 11, someone broke into a locked shipping container on a construction site and took a large amount of copper wire.
ASSAULT, 1/11/2008, 600 block of N. Glebe Rd. At approximately 3:30 pm on January 11, a 51 year old woman was walking down the street when a group of young men ran up behind her and pushed her to the ground. The suspects fled on foot. The victim sustained several cuts & bruises and a more serious injury to her right arm.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 1/11/2008, 5000 block of Columbia Pike. Between 11 pm and 11:15 pm on January 11, a 20 year old man was stabbed during an altercation inside a restaurant. The victim was treated at a local hospital for a non-life threatening wound.
BANK ROBBERY, 1/11/2008, 1900 block of Fort Myer Drive. At approximately 2:41 pm on January 11, a man robbed a bank in Rosslyn. The man handed the teller a note that demanded money because a member of his family was being held by others. He took an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect is described as a white male who is 45 to 50 years old. He was wearing a blue knit cap and a thigh length blue and tan parka with a hood. He had on jeans and black shoes and was wearing glasses.
ROBBERY, 1/10/2008, S. Kenwood St/S. 25 St. On January 10 at 10:35 pm, a 53 year old man was walking on S. Kenwood St in the area of S. 25th St when a light colored four door vehicle, possibly a Honda Civic, stopped and three men got out. The suspects assaulted the victim, took cash from him, then fled the scene. The victim was treated at a local hospital for non life threatening injuries. The suspects are described as #1) a black male, 6 feet tall, medium build, with a bald head and full beard, wearing a beige or corduroy sport jacket; #2) a black male, 6 feet tall, 130-140 pounds, wearing jeans; #3) a black male of small stature, weighing 150-160 pounds. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY BY FORCE, 1/8/2008, 600 block S. 26 St. On January 8 around 9:55 pm, a 42 year old man was walking on S. 26 St. when he was approached by two subjects. One of the suspects implied that he had a weapon and demanded the victim’s money. The victim complied and the suspects took the victim’s wallet and cell phone. The victim was struck in the face during the incident, receiving a minor injury. The suspects fled on foot south on S. 26 St. K-9 attempted a track but was unable to locate the suspects. They are described as black males, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, skinny, with dark hooded sweatshirts and dark pants.
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY BY FORCE, 1/7/2008, 4600 block S. Four Mile Run Dr. On January 7 around 3 pm, a 26 year old woman was walking on the bike path when she was attacked from behind. The suspect grabbed the victim’s purse after the victim fell to the ground. The victim began kicking the suspect and the suspect dropped the victim’s purse. The victim then fled the scene. The suspect is described as a black female, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, 180 to 250 pounds, with black hair and hair extensions, wearing blue jeans.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 1/7/2008, 2000 block S. Kenmore St. Sometime between noon on December 26 and 7 pm on January 7, someone removed a window screen and broke a window at a residence. Entry does not appear to have been gained.
BURGLARY, 1/7/2008, 5800 block N. Little Falls Rd. Sometime between 8 am and noon on January 7, someone entered a residence through a window and took a computer.
LARCENY FROM AUTO/ATTEMPTED LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 1/7/2008, 2200 block S. 6 St, 100 & 700 blocks S. Courthouse Rd, 900 block S. Orme St. Sometime between 8 pm on January 6 and 6 am on January 7, someone broke into 5 cars in the area. Two GPS units were taken, along with a toolbox.
BURGLARY, 1/7/2008, 1700 block of N. Fairfax Drive. At approximately 2:20 am on January 7, a resident heard a noise in her apartment. When she went to investigate she saw an unknown man in the hallway. The man then ran from the apartment. It does not appear anything was taken.
BURGLARY, 1/6/2008, 2000 block of S. Eads St. Between 1 pm on December 21 and 7 pm on January 6, someone entered an apartment and took numerous electronic items.
BURGLARY, 1/4/2008, 3400 block S. Eads St. Sometime between 2 pm on December 27 and 2 pm on January 4, someone entered a construction site and took several pieces of construction equipment.
LARCENY (SERIES), 1/4/2008, Various Locations. Between 8 am and 2 pm on January 4, someone took flush valves from park restrooms in the 300 and 600 blocks of Manchester St. and the 300 block of Harrison St.
ARMED ROBBERY, 1/4/2008, 1300 block of S. Joyce St. Between 7 pm and 7:55 pm on January 4, a 36 year old man had just left a store when two men came up behind him. One of the suspects punched the victim in the face, then pointed a weapon at him and demanded money. The suspects took cash and merchandise the victim had just purchased, then fled on foot. Both are described as black males, 16 to 18 years old, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall with slender builds.
CARJACKING/RECOVERED STOLEN AUTO, 1/3/2008, S. 16 Rd/ S. Walter Reed Dr. On January 3 at approximately 11:28 pm, a 45 year old taxi driver was stopped at an intersection when he was approached by two men. One of the men got into his cab and demanded money. The suspect produced a knife, but the victim resisted the attack. The suspect and a second individual got into the taxi and left the scene. The victim sustained minor injuries. Both suspects are described as black males, wearing black jackets, with scarves over their faces. The taxi was last seen northbound on Walter Reed. Shortly thereafter, a cab that was taken in a carjacking in the District at approximately 11 pm was recovered around the corner from where the carjacking occurred. The investigation is ongoing.
GRAFFITI, 1/3/2008, 900 block S. Columbus St, 1500 block S. George Mason Dr. On January 3, graffiti was found to have been spray painted on a wall, a bridge, and several dumpsters in the area.
BURGLARY, 1/2/2008, 2500 block N. Lexington St. Sometime between noon on January 1 and 6:54 pm on January 2, someone entered a residence and took a laptop computer. It is unknown how entry was gained.
BURGLARY, 1/2/2008, 1900 block N. Moore St. Sometime between 3 pm on December 28 and 8 am on January 2, someone entered a business and took several laptop computers. It appears that suspects damaged the front door lock in order to gain entry.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 1/2/2008, 400 block S. Cleveland St. Sometime between 9 pm on January 1 and 4:20 pm on January 2, someone took a chair from a screened in porch at a residence and left it in the bushes on the property. A possible suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6 feet 1 inch tall, 250 pounds, with salt and pepper hair, a beard, wearing dark clothing.
LARCENY FROM AUTO/DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 1/2/2008, 4200 block S. 31 St, 4800 block S. 28 St. Sometime between 8:30 pm on December 31 and 6 am on January 2 someone broke into six vehicles parked in the area. GPS units, a satellite radio system and other assorted personal property were taken.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 1/2/2008, 4500 block S. 8th St, 5100 block S. 12 Rd. Sometime between 9 pm on January 1 and 7 am on January 2 five cars parked in the area were spray painted with gang graffiti. A variety of graffiti was also found on a fence in the area.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY/ARREST, 1/1/2008, 600 block of S. Buchanan St. On January 1 around 2:10 pm, a subject attempted to enter a residence by breaking a window in a door and trying to unlock the double lock on the door. The homeowner followed the suspect, calling police. Ronald Cruz Rocha, 29, of Arlington, was located nearby by a police officer. He was arrested and charged with Unlawful Entry. He was held on an unsecured $1500 bond.
LARCENY FROM AUTO/ATTEMPTED LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 1/1/2008, 2700 block S. Eads St, 600 block S. 26 St, 700 block S. 25 St. Sometime between midnight and 8 am on January 1, someone stole tires from two vehicles parked in the area. Suspects attempted but failed to take a tire from another nearby car.
BURGLARY, 1/1/2008, 5200 block of Columbia Pike. Sometime between 11 pm on December 30 and 8:30 pm on January 1, someone kicked in the glass window of a garage bay. A rack containing Newport cigarettes was taken.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY/DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY/ARREST, 1/1/2008, 800 block N. Irving St. On January 1 at approximately 4:10 am, a subject broke through the glass door of a residence. Officers located the suspect, John Sipple, 26, of Arlington. He was arrested and charged with Unlawful Entry, Destruction of Property, and Public Drunkenness. He was held on an unsecured $1,000 bond.
